The battle of Midway started on my birthday and I've always been interested in the Pacific war. I joined the Navy at the very tail end of Vietnam (the last guys came home when I was in boot camp) but never did anything but float around. I was in Pearl Harbor and Guam, then came home.

Strange.....The fast BBs were protecting Halsey's carriers heading north to intercept and sink the Japanese carriers. The DDs and DEs were fighting against the powerful Japanese task force, including Yamato, other BBs, CAs, and Destroyers. The USN BBs eventually were let loose to go after the IJN after Halsey received a communication from NIMITZ which ended with the words, "Where is Task Force ____ the world wants to know". At least that's my take on the history of Taffy 3.

Sorry to harp on my pet peeve, but in English, 'it's' is a contraction of 'it is', or 'it has' - never the possessive its

Please in the future when reference the correct grammar when mentioning aircraft.
Example
Several times in the previous chapters when a multiple aircraft of a specific type as a model “S”
Example
Yamamotos aircraft was intercepted by “P38S”! There’s no such thing as a P38S. It should read as P38’s
Same as when referencing B17S.
Plural P38’s or B17’s
Sorry just sounds awkward and wrong.
Overall I’ve enjoyed listening to these memoirs.
