What really annoys me with the controle center. Is, that they rearranged the connectivity „folder“ up top. They minimized bluetooth, which was one of the most used quick on/off buttons i used. Much more useful to me than airplane mode or air drop. Now i need two actions to access bluetooth. Why is that not customizable? Or am I just to stupid to figure out how? At least i could add a new bluetooth controle at another location. I guess that kinda fixes it. But still annoying
they really should let you rearrange which connectivity setting you want immediately accessible in that folder thingy. I just created shortcut toggles for all the settings and removed the whole thing
As someone with a 2020 iPhone SE who installed iOS 18 a few hours ago, I don't get to use iPhone AI or whatever, but I am grateful that my ancient phone still gets the latest OS. Personally, I really like the upgrade despite a bug here and there. It's silky smooth, improved my battery life, and I like some of the new features. None of the bugs are crashing bugs. I purchased this phone new two years ago on a whim. I was bored with Android and had always bashed but never used iPhone. It was not supposed to become my daily but it is. Even the simple ancient camera holds up against more elaborate and current mid-range Android setups. Personally I like many of the interface changes, but I'm not here to give a full review. I still miss BB10 OS.

iPhone 11 user here. My phone has gone from iOS 14 through iOS 18 now, and still doing extremely well. Haven’t noticed any downgrades performance-wise or even battery-wise. The whole system runs pretty smoothly. Impressed with the new Control Center, and, of course, with the Home Screen customization tools (tinted icons specifically, this is just so gorgeous, I’ve been waiting for doing this since June). No major bugs have been seen as well. But my only complain is still the some kind of glitches of the Notifications Center. I also hate the horizontal look of it (while watching YT videos, for example). I wish in the near future Apple is changing it some way. It’s been like this since like iOS 15, so…
And personally, I really appreciate the Photos app’s overhaul. I always thought that that multi-page UI was a bit of an overkill (for example, the “Recents” and the “Photo” section itself were completely identical, yet in the first one months weren’t shown at the top - like, for what reason? It’s gone, finally). Now it’s much sleeker and modern. I even noticed some glassy inspirations from VisionOS, so does it mean that Apple will indeed come to this design-language in iOS at some point? The icon tint worked well for me. I set a blue wallpaper on my old iPad and used the colour picker to tint the icons. Reminded me of a desktop I had when I was big into linux years ago. Just need a transparent shell on my iPad to feel like the old days. :P
I’ve encountered a pretty significant bug in control centre. Every customisable button I tried setting up yesterday reverted to blanks. Example, the shortcuts I set up defaulted back to just opening the shortcuts app, and the home control toggle I had switched to blank with the text “chose scene or accessory.” Which means I have to remove every shortcut, put them back in, and set them up to activate the same shortcuts as before, and hope they don’t all reset again
One thing I’ve always loved about Apple is how simple and straightforward their interfaces are. That being said I haven’t customised a single thing I think everything is fine just as it was. The customisation features probably benefit ex-Android users more than anyone so hopefully they’re enjoying that since it took this long to get.
I hate the new photos app. I find with iOS 18 overall, you have to tap a lot more, to do the basics. Like settings. You have to select “more apps” just to see all the apps, it’s just a lot of extra effort for nothing. And I feel that’s the issue with the photos app.

iPhone 13 followed the same pattern as the Xr. Underwhelming at first but would turn into great value as future generations changed less and less. Then we had that with the 11s and now the 13s.
The reason why not every icon supported dark mode right away is because you could not support dark or tinted icons until iOS 18 is released to everyone.
The funny thing about the Material You icons on Android is that Google kinda missed an opportunity to make way more apps compatible. I'm pretty sure Android has an API for vector versions of app icons, since it uses those for the icons on notifications. And basically every app on my Android has one. As a longtime Apple fan, I have to admit that the current iPhone 16 and iOS 18 are a bit of a fail. They don’t have Apple artificial intelligence ready for the launch of the iPhone 16. The iPhone 16 launch should be the premier of iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence. They also didn’t upgrade the storage to 2TB despite the fact that they keep bumping up the camera abilities and creating larger and larger file sizes.
I honestly can’t believe they are releasing the iPhone 16 without AI. I don’t think they should have done all this advertising when this thing will be rolling out as updates over the next couple of months. I hope they get it together by next year, and maybe, I’ll get the 17.
So they replace the mute switch with a button that you can use for anything. But they didn’t add a mute option to control panel! Not sure why, but that infuriates me.
Ill wait until 18.1 comes out before I update. lol. Then again, I have an Iphone 11 pro max so waiting to see what others on the same device experience.
They really need a ios 12 like, year, where they iron out most features. Yeah its not so bugggy anymore, but still, it doesnt feel like the past where features worked almost 100% of the time. Still a lot of bugs on even the older features.
I like iOS 18, it’s the biggest update as far as features are concerned, so far so good for my 14 Pro Max. And Apple Intelligence will only add to iOS 18 experience for me, yeah I’m one of those people who cares about AI.
Yeah. Mostly the tinting. I like the dark note icons, but to many massive apps don’t support it likely cause they’re worried that you won’t see their brand image on the app icon as easily.
I’m loving it so far. iOS 18 actually feels like an update rather than the previous update part 2. Although the App Library no longer have a blur on iOS makes no sense, iPadOS 18 still has it.

That's why if I get a new iPhone this year, it will be a 15 Pro and nothing from the 16 lineup
So they replace the mute switch with a button that you can use for anything. But they didn’t add a mute option to control panel! Not sure why, but that infuriates me.
I only just downloaded iOS 18 yesterday, bit buggy but mostly ok.
Instagram, already updated their app. The day that it launched.
Not many new features but never forget how much better iOS is compared to android
Between the lack of RCS and absolutely no support for Apple Watch cellular, Mint mobile is on my sh*t list.
Pixel us awaiting your return drew!
So going to android is just out of the window?
Instagram has now allowed for the dark mode app, they allowed it on Monday. Just yet to wait for the others
Ill wait until 18.1 comes out before I update. lol. Then again, I have an Iphone 11 pro max so waiting to see what others on the same device experience.
After the update my iPad m4 runs much cooler than before.
iOS 18 update bricked my 13 inch iPad Pro M4 256 gig apparently I am not the only one
instagram icon actually just updated for dark mode
They really need a ios 12 like, year, where they iron out most features. Yeah its not so bugggy anymore, but still, it doesnt feel like the past where features worked almost 100% of the time. Still a lot of bugs on even the older features.
for some reason my flashlight control didn't change with iOS 18 how do I fix this
14, 15 or 16 pro required
@@hanspeter24that’s insane
@@hanspeter24 ohh ok thanks
Instagram has updated their app icon now, you might have to manually update the app
I like iOS 18, it’s the biggest update as far as features are concerned, so far so good for my 14 Pro Max. And Apple Intelligence will only add to iOS 18 experience for me, yeah I’m one of those people who cares about AI.
As a former android user and someone who now dailies iPhones I think their implementation of the home screen customization is a little lacking
Yeah. Mostly the tinting. I like the dark note icons, but to many massive apps don’t support it likely cause they’re worried that you won’t see their brand image on the app icon as easily.
@@-ThatGuy- agreed. I like it Dark and large just like my…..
iOS 18 convinced me to switch to an iPhone on my primary number
Change for change is 60% of it for sure
The 18.1 has been advertised all over; it makes the 18 feel incomplete.
Instagram has now a dark icon!
Honestly iOS 18 has some cool ideas but it’s one of the most lackluster updates I have ever seen and way to go Apple for making the iPhone 15 obsolete
so glad i was able to downgrade to ios 17
You can for at least a week after a new version of ios is out
This is why you should review Android 15
I’m loving it so far. iOS 18 actually feels like an update rather than the previous update part 2. Although the App Library no longer have a blur on iOS makes no sense, iPadOS 18 still has it.
I get your argument about there not being many big changes in iOS 18….but it’s so much worse on android. There were hardly any new features in Android 15
IOS 18 is now Android: Fisher Price Edition
The whole point of this update is to reduce screen time. Everything looks bad. Photos app is arghhh

I thought you were doing UA-cam as your job? Were you and did that change at some point recently?
Two jobs, simple.
