Tommy, WELCOME BACK!!! That’s going to be a fun project. As tall as the sides of that slab were going to be, it was looking like a stem wall. The footer they put in is an absolute must. Now it wont slide down the hill into your house. I agree with sparty837. It would have been the perfect time to pou a block of concrete, 8’x8’x8’ deep to hold up a tower in Oklahoma wind.

I just moved into a very stinky HOA. I came up with an idea for a big loop the runs 247’ around the perimeter of my roof overhang. It works great and nobody can see it.

The outside ring of concrete is called a "footer" . Its used to spread the weight of the building over a large area.
