Jimin setting himself free from the negativity and hate he's been exposed to but had to hold back cos he was bound by the good boy image and Angel like artist. When he said in his interview "raw" and "explicit" Set Me Free Pt2 is it. No holding back ...this is his flow...his time ..don't give a fvck what others think or say...cos he's the rebirth of himself . he can be who he wants to be. Like a butterfly out the cocoon to spread his wings and live on his terms. Jimin's statement was strong and powerful but at the same time pained and sad... I'm so proud of him ..Jimin creates Masterpieces and there's always a message in his songs. Definitely Song of the Year.

Jimin is the member who has the most haters, he got death threats and was ignored by a lot of fans, and everyone mocked his personality and voice and said he wasn't even a guy, many demanded to be removed from the group, the company tried to remove him 8 times, he passed out a lot after Performance or during training, he changed his appearance a lot. At first, they wanted him to have a manly image and to be the bad boy of the group. He followed a strict diet and workout , and got a muscular body at the age of no more than 17 years. After that, it was said that he was fat and short, and his appearance did not correspond to The rest of the members he went on a harsh diet for the second time (one meal for every 10 days) and continued to abuse him however, today I look at him with tears in my eyes all the losers can do is try to smash the winners, sorry for my bad language.

What's really sad is that most of the haters are within the fandom and from a specific group of solo stans/shippers. How they consider themselves fans is beyond me. Their behavior is disgusting. They will never win though, because he continues to break records and win at life. I'm beyond proud of him.
I will never, ever understand the hate and the death threats. It makes no earthly sense, and while nobody deserves to be on the receiving end of things like that, Jimin - angel on earth Jimin - deserves it least of all.
Even the big hit tied to remove him, because of that?...but I've heard he was waned because of his unique dance style . Since he's technically improvised with the contemporary dance, big hit didn't want that style of him....
Masterpiece. There's no other word for it. I haven't seen a single reactor who hasn't watched it twice. I watched it twice when it dropped, too. There's so much symbolism in this video and in the choreo... amazing. By the way, this was choreographed by Sienna Lalau, the same woman who did "On," so you're absolutely right to be reminded.

I think if we want to be philosophical about it all - Jimin very deliberately chose every piece that went into this song and MV. From the dark mood to the spiral path,the butterfly morphing, the poem on his chest, he precisely guides the audience with references to his older music, like Lie, Filter, Butterfly, On. In his article with Consequence he states “We tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see.”
I would say you are right in your assumptions about Jimin and this song. And he is just so damn sexy - I want to see a dance practice or a Jimin specific breakdown of the MV.

Set me free part 1 was on Yoongi s mixtape but it sounded different.
