I am a sea farer by profession and I love Britain's maritime history. Why these souless quarter wits work for a hydrographic research company is beyond me, they have no idea. Of course we give them a good ignoring.
That is the postmodern approach to everything. They really just want to destroy history and culture. Ignore them and be human but at the same time do not get caught out.
I am a woman and referring to ships and cars as “she” is not derogatory lol! It’s actually pretty awesome as these ships are so important in life and history. How about focus on things that are ACTUALLY derogatory towards women.
Brilliant, thanks Neil, I just love this stuff, I did see Mary Rose when it was first displayed after it was lifted, and undergoing a continual spray, but I must go and see it again. Also Please give Neil Oliver more opportunities to present historical programmes, he is inspirational.
The look in your eyes as you were telling us about the ship, was like a child so happy about a long awaited present they had been given. Your enthusiasm is infectious and endearing.
This is a great piece. I think GB News are missing a trick with Neil. His programme should be about history. Covering the latest developments like this, but also the controversies of history which are so important now.

As Ive lived in Portsmouth all my life, I remember this event well, it was the talk of the Town for months before & after the raising, the huge crane (called 'Tog More') was positioned in the Solent for several months. Great story here from the brilliant Neil Oliver, best presenter on GB News, the man has so much passion & honest opinions.

Utterly fascinating. Like Neil, I remember watching avidly with my dad as the Mary Rose was gently raised from the waters; we had been building up to the moment for some time and there’d been so much talk and many programmes about the plans. When the moment came everyone was sitting on edge due to fears that the stresses and gravity were putting upon the wooden structure. This was a great interview by Neil.
