From Season 4, Episode 1 'Love Boat Angels' - Tiffany Welles joins the Townsend Agency after Sabrina has quit to get married and start a family. Charlie tells his girls to take a cruise on the Pacific Princess to catch art thief Paul Hollister. Kris offers to get close to their target, but soon begins to feel an attraction to him.

Although, they writers didn't give Tiffany much personality until almost the END OF THE SEASON, I really liked her!!!

She really did great. Such a classy actress and created her own personality. It's not easy to fill in Sabrina's shoes. I don't know why she got blamed for season 4. The stories were horrible. She acts really good.
@shucham I totally agree! It was the bad/boring writing for season 4 that brought ratings down, not Shelley Hacks acting.

this is my FAVORITE Charlie's Angels of all of them! It introduced Tiffany Welles and it was rated #1 Show for the week! Beating all new and old shows! Loved it! 2 hours of bliss!
I loved Tiffany she reminded me of Katherine Hepburn. One of my favorite episodes from the 4th season was Of Ghosts And Angels
They barely gave Tiffany any screentime until the she went back to her college and we finally got to see her shine and by then the ratings were low and she was the easiest to blame and fire.
Shelley Wasn't Kate But I Still Loved Her
Given how close Sabrina was to Kelly and Kris, it's somewhat odd that she would convey news of her pregnancy to Charlie instead of telling her fellow Angels directly......
In real life, Kate left the show on less than amicable terms. The storyline may be a middle-finger gesture to her.

However within the context of the series itself, Sabrina's relationship with her fellow Angels was strong so it doesn't make sense at all that she would share this news of her prgenancy with a man she never met (despite being her employer) over people she worked with daily and had many life and death experiences with.......

Bonghune, you could be right about the middle-finger gesture. However, Kate had co-created this show (but never got paid anything for her brilliant ideas), she was the best actress. She was also right about wanting better scripts but they weren't having it (they wanted bikinis instead of quality scripts). And by season 3 the producers wouldn't let Kate do "Kramer vs. Kramer" although Kate and the Kramer crew were willing to film her part on weekends (so when Goldberg said no, Kate's part went to Meryl Streep). A disillusioned Kate left and that's when the show started going down the toilet very quickly. The producers had done Kate dirty and only after she had left it dawned on them that there was no way for them to save the show. Not without Kate Jackson! So much for the middle-finger gesture. But at that point Kate couldn't have cared less because she just wanted out and do something else.
Tiffany Welles was/is my favourite Angel. The writers were lazy with her and didn't start giving her storylines until late into season 4. I really enjoyed the dynamic of these 3 together and wished they had kept her for another season
I agree and she was very interesting especially her interest in the paranormal, experience as a former sorority president and sense of humor. They didn't give her a chance at all

The problem with Shelly Hack's introduction into the show as new Angel was, that they didn't give her anything to do. It seems like she was thrown in to have a 3rd angel. The 4th season premiere focus more on Cheryl Ladd, which I think hurt Hack's arrival as Tiffany Wells. Even Jacyn Smith's contribution to their first case together with the new character was small, until the bad guys took her. Hack did shine in the Episode "Angels on Campus" which dealt with a white slavery ring. She handled not one, not two, not three, but four bad guys/girl, on her own. Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts (RIP) got to shine through out their introduction episodes. Shelly was not Kate Jackson, and she wasn't supposed to be, because each angel had to be different. The show frontrunners drop the ball with Shelly's character, thus the ratings went down and they blamed her for the decline 😇😇😇.
According to the Charlie's Angels Casebook, the reason the ratings went down was because of Farrah Fawcett. Each time she appeared, the ratings went down and her last episode was the lowest in the 4th season.

The way Tiffany was introduced was kinda awkward but once she was into the series she’s really like a fine wine to appreciate over time shame she did not return to season five now to not completely introduce her to Farrah totally absurd
totally agree, the first episode with Tiffany and Jill, they didn't even talk to each other really, and the 2nd episode I think was one exchange of dialogue

Tacky and somewhat disgusting that the 2 women Jill and Tiffany never introduces themselves to each other and that they never had any scenes together. I LOVE Shelley Hack and was hoping they keep her for season 5.

I really liked Tiffanny, but they didnt showcase her enough until towards the end of the Season. So strange.
Horrible introduction of Tiffany compared to Kris coming through door when she joined. It pretty much went down hill rather quickly after that. I watched the over bloated premiere which barely showed Shelly Hack. The whole episode(s) was about Cheryl Ladd. It seems when Shelly Hack showed up to start filming the producers realized she couldn’t really act (or what they thought what was needed) and, cut Hack’s lines and gave them to Cheryl Ladd. If you watch the episode you can clearly see it. I pretty much stop watching the show after Hack joined. While the show ran 5 years it was only a hit (and, popular) for the first three years.

Shelly hack was a great addition to the show & replacement for Kate Jacksons character Sabrina. She was classy, elegant and sophisticated. Totally not her fault the ratings were already slipping, plus the writers gave her nothing to work with until later in the season. They didn't do her justice.
The show didn't survive Kate Jackson's departure. I'm sure with Kate still on the show Shelley would have worked, too.
@@For4Ever-pm6yj I Agree with you. It Broke my Heart to see Kate Go. She was the Heart of the Show, but I did Welcome Shelly with Open Arms. I Thought she was a Great Angel, she brought something Totally Different to the Show.
@@gregkluge I really couldn't bring myself to watch Charlie's Angels without Kate on the show. I was devastated. I'm sure Shelley brought something different to the show but the problem was Kate's absence. I recently tried to watch some season 4 and even season 5 episodes but no. I couldn't.

I was "Angeled" out after the 3rd season. Rarely watched it after that. Saw a few Hack episodes...non impressive. Never saw any of Season 5 episodes.
I was already Angel-ing out in Season 3. A new Angel in the 4th season (a supermodel, no less) brought me back but it took them half a season to get their act together and give her more to do. Shelley was fine in the so-called back 9 episodes. They replaced her anyway with a bikini that grew out a human body. Tanya was so out of league with Jaclyn and Cheryl (and the episode so much like an old 60's police story) that you could already smell cancellation with her first appearance on the show

1) i'm pretty sure Sabrina would have called Kelly and Kris personally to tell them she was pregnant! And before Charlie! 2) So interesting how in Season #1, the original trio were naturally pretty, minimal make-up, late 70's casual clothes, and then into the early 80's it was over the top glamour and make-up galore...Prefer the original trio because of this.. I did like Tiffany though...

The season 4 episodes were a step up from season 3.
It’s exciting when a new Angel joins the team, but this lineup had no chemistry.

I actually didn't mind Tiffany. No she wasn't Kate Jackson but she wasn't that bad. At least she was better than Tanya Roberts. She was the worst angel in my opinion.

@@Kandik93 Only the first 2 seasons. The 3rd season episodes were already tiresome and horrible. That was exactly why Kate walked out of the show after that season. To think she lost the Kramer vs Kramer role because she was stuck doing those terrible Season 3 episodes!
@@filomango69 True! Kate kept the whole thing afloat but yes, by 3rd season there was only so much she could do. And what they did to her by not letting her do Kramer vs Kramer and instead she had to do terrible season 3 episodes. How awful for an accomplished actress like Kate! They had done her dirty that's for sure.
Also, the show became about Kelly & Kris always being paired and teamed up. Sabrina would either work alone or with Bosley. Season 1 was the best with better scripts and the actresses tended to work more in three and seemed to visibly enjoy it. Season 2 was good but by the middle and end of Season 3 the scripts were a little weak. Although, I did enjoy when they went skiing. LOL!!! Good memories.
Awkward indeed. Tiffany could have just walked in. Why add Landers to confuse viewers that she was the new angel or confuse Kelly and Kris that Landers would be the new angel.

Awkward, yes. A little. Painful to watch, no. Shelley blended in with the beauty and style of Jaclyn and Cheryl. This was the best-looking group next to the original trio of Kate, Farrah and Jaclyn. And we were looking forward to how the supermodel would develop over the season. For those who waited patiently, they were rewarded with new and better episodes that highlight the contribution to the team of new Angel Shelley in the 2nd half of the season. The "painful to watch" phrase would apply most definitely to Season 5 with Tanya
Painful! No more charisma after Kate Jackson had left. A once iconic show had become a parody.
Shelly Hack was pretty cute and beautiful. But I don't know if she found her role on that show. Unlike with Cheryl Ladd, who I think was even better than Farrah Fawcett.

Farrah was definitely not going to come back. Except for her guest appearances she had to do (for $150,000 per episode...).
Also while Farrah was the phenom, the producers were still able to replace her whereas Kate Jackson was the irreplacable Angel. No one could have replaced her. Ever. The show jumped the shark without Kate. This clip here is but an example.

the closest they got was the final episode of season 5 when Charlie was in the Operating room during Kelly's surgery when she was shot and the doctor was saving her life. The angels didn't know he was there though, but he was in full greens with a facemask
