I love the way that you broke this down. This is so easily explained that a child could understand. I truly appreciate this being that I'm 50 and it takes me a little longer to get it. Many blessings to you.

We need more owner operators. Drivers shouldn't have to ask every time they want to take a shit or something. Companies control the trucks too much and don't pay enough for the dangerous job of driving. I am not nor was I ever a truck driver, except in the military, but I have a lot of respect for them and the crap they have to take for as little they get paid. I enjoy watching a large heavy duty truck in operation. I could watch it all day. Be safe truck drivers.

ive taken i40 to avoid i70 through the rockies, because it may be 200+ more miles, but the rockies in the winter are the rockies in the winter.

Hi. Great video. Just starting trucking. So I get paid by the mile. When do you do your trip planning? On duty not driving? Off duty sleeper berth? I think either way I'm not getting paid cause no miles are being driven while I perform a work required function.

I'm a mentor at PAM. I feel like your throwing a lot of heat at mentors but I only have my trainees for 8 days.
I was here to help better explain trip planning to make sure I'm not missing anything but at the end of the day you can only cover so much in 8 days.
Plus most of this trucking stuff is super common sense in my opinion.

How do you figure out routes that don’t allow a trailer longer than 75 vs 65?

I wasn’t taught this and I’m only finding out about it now in training for bulk carrier training. It seems really difficult but I’m doing my best to pick it up fast as I’ve only been in training 4 days now. Any advice for a true beginning to decipher this?

hey coming from the dispatching side, What do you guys use to track the weather? I want to use maps and or weather apps to follow the weather for you guys so I can give options before you even have to think about it as much as possible course.

How do you manage to read all the road signs prohibiting roads for trucks as height or width limits ? Isn't it better to start from there when speaking of road trip planning;)

I have a question. As I'm reading the CDL study manual for the CDL learner's permit, I'm in the section that discusses the pre-trip inspection. It says to check and make sure that tire sizes are the same. So the questionis this: Is there actually any reputable carrier that would actually allow their mechanics to put different tire sizes on a truck or trailer which would put the driver in a position of having to discover this and bring it to the company's attention? Are there really companies that would even consider such a thing?
I didn't know how to send a question to you, so I just figured I'd attach it in the comments section of this video.
    Thanks.
