- Hello everyone
today i will be giving a tutorial about low tech planted aquarium. This set up the most cheapest way to set a low tech planted tank. Budget will be around 200 rs if you have extra aquarium and it’s very easy to set . just need to invest on aquarium some led bulbs and ORGANIC COMPOST and river sand along with some diy woods and rocks. the cost is within 2-300 as most of the products are very cheap and available already at home like sand bulb etc

Lekin ek problem hai as I am a student I will have very less time to watch after it. Isiliye agar mei usme bohot sare plants lagau aur ek badiya sa filter bana ke lagay bio media wala toh can alternate the problem of regular water change.

Bhai, doesn’t the bulb get damaged from moisture or water from aquarium surface?? or do you use some kind of protection?
No bhai nothing happens at all . Been using similar method since 4 years and only once I had an issue with the bulb ( that too bcos it fell in the water ) rest no problem at all

I tried planted tank for the first time
Used 50% soil 50% vermi compost and planted very heavily 15 days since that and plants have rooted and are showing new leaves👍

you will need to wet the compost if not after set up you will see air bubbles popping out of the substrate
Yes it was wet but the top soil wasn’t . But true . Soon I’ll start a new tank . ( next week / do watch ) I’ll make sure to make it wet

Mene vermicompost wala setup banaya tha but weekend Tak Pani bahot yellowish ho raha tha 2 bar water change ke bavjud and light ke vajah se alge bhi bahot hota tha..50% plants toh waisehi melt hogaye and then rescape kiya but rescape ki vajah se plants melt huye and light duration kam kiya ab thik he
U can try to add snails and shrimps in it... To eat lefover food
And add 2-3 small alagae eating catfish

Is tarah k set up mein thoda time lagta hai plant ko stable hone mein . Water change regular start mein . Plus light bhi kam zyada kar sakte hai agar lage algae a rahi hai . Aur rescaping ki wajah se may b system disbalance hua hoga

Bro i have 5 planted tanks and currently i am experimenting with different diy lights i got success with led bulbs as you told ,and also with led strips,now i would like to experiment with led tube lights which we use in our houses,so do you have any idea about that,i have tried using 1 10w tube for 2ft tank but plants are not growing and brown algae destroyed most of the plants,can i go with1 5w tube or with 2 10w tubes or with single 10w tube.plz throw some light on it
Wow 5 . Hopefully this year I’ll also try to have around 5 planted set ups . Wife pressure hai bahut ;).. but let’s see . Yes bhai u can mix blue with normal led. Aur yes blue led causes brown algae but u can experiment it . Agar 10 watts se algae a raha hai to I can switch to 5 watts or less as in most of the pla ted light blues are less comparing to green and red . So having 1 blue with 10 white . Something like that . I haven’t tried blue myself but I have a fire glow light which is all white but just 1 blue in the centre and it gives good ambience and also a good light for low tech set ups
