Not sure if a Guitar can be used but I would guess the key option would work even if the guitar was going through an amp or pa but not as effective where keys change. Digitech have a model that a guitar plugs into and adjusts the harmony to your chords. I'm selling my Digitech as the Zoom would suit my needs better.
