Are we not going to address Traxxas is using a Mofo RC motor?! Like seriously that is beyond the coolest thing! They partnered with an another company to offer us all a better price point then the furitek options. No one? Okay I did. Haha
@@a-guy1912I have the Furitek Unity Pro so I had to get a receiver and transmitter too which put the total cost well above the Traxxas which works with stock transmitter. However, the Traxxas is only 2S compatible and the Furitek can do 3S. Plus that Traxxas in the video looked like its FOC was pretty poor. The Furitek FOC is excellent, and there is an app. The Traxxas has no adjustment via an app or laptop etc.
I'm new to rc and I recently bought a brand new trx4 defender 1/10 scale and I'm extremely disappointed I drove it 1 time a week ago and took it out for only the second time and it just stopped moving all servos are responding to the controller but it won't drive or reverse and now I don't know what's wrong with it wasn't even doing anything crazy I was on flat paved ground any advise or ideas for what could be going wrong with it??
the speed and torque versatility comes from it being an FOC(fFeld Oriented Control) brushless system, it is not a regular brushless motor. there is a 1/6 scale crawler that made my jaw drop with how fast it was, due to the nature of being an FOC system. It allows for high speed and low speed torque. PMD Motion Contol has a great article explaining it mechanically. It is basically a different technique for how the magnetic field is used to spin a motor, which is the operating principle of any brushed or brushless motor.
Just got one for a 100 dollars worked a deal with my local hobby shop for a trx4m high trail and this system for 274 in trade I installed it and runs flawlessly lots of power and torque hopefully it’ll last for a long long time also very easy to install
Traxxas really needs to change up there esc's and Tx's to keep up with others out there. Nobody wants to keep taking off the body and changing modes with the button on the esc. It should be adjustable on the Tx.
The FOC looked poor to non-existent. Furitek Unity Pro is leaps ahead of this in performance. Plus you have the Furitek app to make changes. Is this Traxxas even waterproof?
@@Sat5Motorsports true, but one reason I’ve waited til now to convert to brushless is I didn’t want to pay an extra $50 for just the adapter, in addition to over $100 for a decent brushless motor/ESC
@@JUMBOs-RC Oh yea, if you've yet to make the jump to brushless then this system makes sense. If you've already committed to the brushless system prior to this Traxxas release, then the adapter would be a blessing 😄
I’m running the new Furitek Unity Pro in my TRX4m. I really like it and would choose it over the Traxxas one as the Furitek app is great and I can run it on 3S. The Traxxas is only 2S compatible. Great video, keep up the good work! 😎👍
As usual, great review. For $120 bucks tho, I’d still recommend a different system, even the furitek starter with the venom motor and lizard pro ESC for $30 bucks less. I did that swap and it’s a SIGNIFICANT difference and I also can use my Radiolink controller, swap to a JST battery, modify with an app, etc. Also don’t see much use for a crawler but maybe it’ll work for some.
Nice..Since this is the brushless trxm system 2S..Can you control the lighting with TQI radio with Bluetooth and app on your smartphone and the settings..
I’m wondering the same thing my guess is it’s not… I’m sure the esc isn’t waterproof either as I’d use the Furitek cedar with it if it was.. once they sell enough they will drop a waterproof one…
Huge FAIL!!!! The oem motor and esc made it to the sticker. The New system did not come close, even when the esc was gunned up the ramp. TRAXXAS has failed this new esc and motor.
Traxxas also needs to make it right on the Mini Revo. Either discontinue it or make a mini that can actually handle 3s and do 50 plus. I think it would be a challenge but they could make it happen. With the rising popularity of small scale and the decline in the economy now might be the time to make a 3s mini that does not blow diffs. Lets Go.
Hmmm Traxxas electronics for the price of furitek and twice the price of hobbywing. Yeah no thanks.

The Furitek unity pro is 99 and Traxxas brushless system is 115, how is that a better price point???

When will they be available?
@@ellisb1451 the Furitek Unity Pro is available now. Don’t know about the Traxxas.
They probably buy them from the same spot in china
this is what we need in the trx4m monster trucks
I might actually get an MT just for this system.
That was my exact thought!
Yeah yeah you traxxas agent give us a look at that mini Maxx! ❤ ya
Wonder if this motor will come stock in the new mini maxx
The mini maxx will come with the bl2 brushless system
Mini max is bl2s my guy. Which means you can drop on a VXL 😊
Can’t wait to try one with a 2 speed and add a channel 3 servo for shifting.
I'm going to have to get one!! Why do you have to show this kinda stuff. Lol. Now I need to go spend money.😂

Try to re sync the controller to the receiver
Call Traxxas if you cant get it working. They will help troubleshoot
First and I saw it coming lol
They need to make the bigfoot body to fit the trx4m. That and big foot tires with brushless? Brotha it would sale like no other.
They have a Bigfoot upgrade kit for the trx4mt
@@arthopferyea the stickers

The reason I sold my TRX4M is because the annoying sound of the engine when crawling slowly... Is this solved with this replacement engine?
Meh, not even 3S and probably over priced knowing Traxxas. I’ll stick with Furitek
More dookie from Traxxas

I agree! Specs say it does work with the TQi transmitter, maybe we will get some functionality with the link app.
Those slash bodies looked amazing, your painter is on point, Mark!

More expensive than the micro B
