Once the sale is basically over, while the items are still unpacked and spread out on the tables, I take the time to look over what is left and make up Auction Lots that can go to one of my local Auction Houses that will accept general merchandise lots (not all will) and clear another group of items I don't want to store or list on eBay. Depending on what is left, I'll fill berry flats with items like hand tool groups, cast iron farm items, small electronics (radios, cameras) or mixed lots. Larger boxes get glassware or photo frames, vintage dishes, etc. The records could be one, two or even 4 lots. The key is to know what the auction house will accept. You might have to send them some photos or travel a bit, but if you take it in by the truck load (or truck/trailer load) already sorted, you can often shift volume and make some more profit, before considering donations, which is often what I do with the items not even good enough for auction lots. 😉
I also consider shuffling items like: all the toys or glassware on to 1 table and offering everything on the table in a Facebook ad for 1 price. Sometimes it works. Also, if you have bad weather or too much competition (as you did with the community sales) a garage sale just doesn’t work. So, selling bulk lots can helped a lot, back when I lived in a rural area. And if you have the space to leave it out a bit longer, while a Facebook buyer comes to buy one lot, they can be allowed to look over the rest of the room, for an upsell. Also, I keep a few wooden sandwich boards around that can hold up to the weather and just use them sale after sale. On it I have all the info that doesn't change and is good year after year, type of sale, times, address, etc.
We had a LOT of leftover stuff from our last garage sale. Ended up putting out huge free signs on Sunday. Got lucky with a small group of flea market sellers who cleaned out everything.
Restocking: when I set up a sale like that (and I’ve done several over the years) I put lidded bins right under the COSCO tables and as I walk around during the sale, I simply up-stock items as I notice holes develop from making sales. That way I’m not carrying bins through the shoppers or sweating from carrying bins during the hot part of the day.
I love watching your videos, after watching your video all the way to the end lol and seeing your problem of having so much stuff left over, and I had an idea that while you're in your thought process of what to do going forward, this is what I remembered seeing watching a video I'd say maybe three or four months ago, is this couple had the overstock of crap items like you do, they had a free garage sale come take the stuff for free, they were giving back to their community, and then I was thinking that for the few things that you want to get money for just stick them in a separate spot and save free except for a few items priced is marked, you'll have that building cleaned out in the day, just a thought to put in your bucket of ideas to do going forward. Keep up the good work love watching you guys, you guys keep it real
That's a nice space. I would have a monthly or quarterly sale. You've already done the hardest part of setting it up. Walmart has the plastic signs you can reuse. Just don't put a date on them, just a day.
Love your no early bird tractor! LOL And I love going to barn sales. You can save paper for winter fires LOL My music book I sold individually for 10-15, I should go through now and make lots to get the rest gone. I paid $5 for a stack that was about 2 feet tall.
This was an awesome Video -- Tracy and I are going to being a Yard Sale later this month. I might have to do a video also. I would buy all that new stuff and sell on Whatnot. You guys are awesome, glad I found your Channel. And again I think you guys are like our spirit couple, you guys have the same fun/ideas Tracy and I during our shows.
Good golly you guys had a lot of stuff. I knew that blue snoop dog CRIP-MAS tree would sell. I would have had a second weekend sale. But I'm sure you have your reasons for not doing it.
You mentioned music books. Any sheet music? I have a couple pieces of sheet music in frames. Sometimes the picture is very desirable or the music alone. Not for craft use but for decor. Could it be put on EBay?

Whatnot has a garage sale category where you can sell anything and everything. Incase you’re still considering it.
You could try a fill a bag sale. Like $5 or whatever and fill your bag with as much as the bag will hold
That is an awesome building!
Looked like a lot of work! Nice job on the sale.
You could lot up the sheet music and sell in crafters lots. People do decoupage with it.

Your spread is pretty amazing there brother. Those huge out buildings are awesome.
Selling hundreds of items is a success in my book!🥳🥳🥳
Love your no early bird tractor! LOL

We haven't touched the music we got yet.
Super good to watch.
Plant sale, funny.
The dark side of reselling no one talks about... what do you do with the stuff that moves in and wants to stay. haha Gotta' evict cousin Eddie!
I would do another yard sale for a quarter.
Garage sales are hard work.
furniture does well on fb marketplace
So much work. I'm sure we will be seeing more of this stuff..lol
Yes! Have another sale so i can come and shop 😊 (your friend from flandreau 😂)
Please do!
Thank you both for sharing you have a blessed day in the name of Jesus Christ.
Since y'all are extra rural you might want to look at hitting up a flea market and bring the product to the people. Y'all have those, right?

Do you guys have an auctioneer anywhere near you? Were they come in and sell the stuff for you? Or an auction house you can bring the stuff too.
I love love love that small white Christmas tree
It is still available and can figure out how to ship it.
Is that your space? I wish that I had such a place. Use it to your advantage.
yard sales are the WORST!
I would be interested in the cds and records lol :)
I need the chucky doll
Would you consider shipping some light bulbs?
I would. Are you interested?
@@GramsPopsVintage-Grams definitely! I’m hoping they are incandescent bulbs and not LED?

It went to someone that is donating it to the local legion for the holiday season.
Half price day? or bring to family in town and sell there?
You mentioned music books. Any sheet music? I have a couple pieces of sheet music in frames. Sometimes the picture is very desirable or the music alone. Not for craft use but for decor. Could it be put on EBay?
Most of the music is sheet music with a few sheet music books.
Overall was it worth it? I'm guessing you thought there was alot better stuff in the stuff you bought.
😊
Do you draft items then go back to take photos later?
We did kinda do that. We look them up and sell similar with a single picture and then go back and take the rest of the pictures later.
@GramsPopsVintage-Grams thanks!!
Again no sticker wall. WHY DO I EVEN WATCH THIS CHANNEL ANYMORE!?!
Corey, block this guy from soiling up your YT channel. Shane is trouble Haha.
@Apexflipper I agree. He is kind of a troll.
@@GramsPopsVintage-Grams only for you guys.
