We actually don't speak sanskrit in day to day life however, it's widely and prodomiantly used in prayers. You can refer it to a language that Red Indians speak in America. It's very complex and difficult and hence Hindi or English or other dialects are spoken which are comparatively easy.

Rick and Korbin, I am just seeing this reaction video of yours. Loved your response!
Here’s some context for you. In Hinduism, we see the ONE GOD in many different forms of expressions (Hinduism is actually Polymorphic Monotheism or better yet, Polymorphic Monism, where THE ONE GOD can take different forms of expressions a.k.a avataars to become accessible to people from different backgrounds and cultures).
This song and the Sanskrit chant you heard in the song glorifies the Divine Mother Goddess (Shakti) as she slays demons and crushes all evil to protect the world and deliver love and grace upon everyone. In India, the Divine Mother Goddess worship is very legit and has a huge following.
In India, most (if not all) schools offer Sanskrit as an optional language you can learn (It is a classical language of our land, like Hebrew for Jews). However, even if one doesn’t explicitly study Sanskrit, all Indians intuitively understand Sanskrit coz it is the mother language of all Indian languages.
Fun fact, many European languages (esp. Latvia and Lithuania) also share many common words with Sanskrit. That’s why linguists have labeled them as “Indo-European”languages.
Thanks again for your cool reactions. Keep’em coming bro! 😎

To many it is not known that a lot of people still communicate in Samskrit but that lot is small, relatively. Only few villages speak sankrit in India, it's one of the official language so it's taught in many schools. I learn it while I was in my 11th, 12th class. My mother tongue is telugu, 2nd lang is hindi, so learning sankrit it not as tough as I thought.

Unlike Latin, sanskrit is not a dead language. Some 30,000 speak sanskrit as their mother tongue and its widely used in temples.

I LOVE this. And ya since all the Indian language structure and grammar are derived from Sanskrit and even use direct words we can understand it with context (and even some others are like English influenced by it directly/indirectly).
But not a commonly spoken language sadly and not directly translated to English without losing its nuances and drawing false equivalences. Because even though early European languages were in some part influenced by Sanskrit the foundations are quite different with regards to how they evolved and there are lots of non-translates. Not the case with Indian languages which has some roots despite different scripts and grammar but have the same foundation/worldview/cultural history where Sanskrit plays an important part.
I hope the research improves though since we still have more than 3,00,000 scripts that survived invasions but never translated properly or researched properly. So much history and literature, it would be a shame to lose it,.

There are few villages where Sanskrit is spoken... But most Indians don't have much grip in Sanskrit as a language... But there are MANY prayers created by ancestors in Sanskrit and the vocal tone for chanting have been made ( or it was since inception) so catchy that we remember it... No matter if we know exact meaning of it or not...
However if we search for its meaning then we can get it... It's not much difficult to find though..

    • @prernashinde9907
      @prernashinde9907 8 місяців тому

its not because we don't have grip, Indians run behind learning foreign languages instead of Sanskrit its sad. it a base of most indian languages so its actually easy to study it.

Probably the toughest language to learn. There could be a very miniscule number who could communicate in Sanskrit today. But, I guess these good folks memorized the shlokas in Sanskrit to incorporate in the track, with meaning ofcourse, as was seen in the subtitles.
    Hope that helps 🙏

Sanskrit is the language of the sages/saints/priests. Every single mantra/hymns/shlokas in Hindu/Jain religious texts are written in Sanskrit. However most folks can't speak that language, but some do. It's like Latin for Christians but way way older.

The power of sanskrit, you guys heard aigiri nandini once in some random video but here when you hear it again, even after having no understanding of the meaning or anything about it, they still remembered that they have heard it. That’s how incredible the language of sanskrit is. It’s not the music, before people say it’s the unique music
