- Now this live version got me really hooked up. You HAVE TO appreciate how the band is giving Brodha V the space and the background for this phenomenal performance. My favorite parts were the drums solos and when Brodha V switched the language and started singing. I'm so happy, that thi indian artist is back on my channel and it won't be the last time.

What he is singing in Sanskrit is the 3rd verse of Soundarya Lahari (literally translates to 'verse of beauty'). The Soundarya Lahari was written by Saint Adi Shankara in praise of Mother Goddess Durga. The portion he sings is seeking blessing for lighting up me (who is an unthinking fool) with the stream of goddess' consciousness.

The language is Sanskrit, and Aigiri Nandini is an entire Sanskrit Shloka hymn praising the devine Mother Goddess. Since a lot of today's generation (even in India) don't fully understand the language, hence the translation in English. Btw Sanskrit is one of the oldest known human language and most ancient Hindu religious texts were written in it. Kinda like Latin for Christian but way way older.
