If 8 out of 10 Canadians get more back in the carbon tax rebate, why make us pay in the first place? Does that make sense? I would love 1 of these Canadians who get more back to respond. I'm not 1 of them and nobody I know gets more back. What a bunch of BS!!!
The only way they could get a the 8 in 10 is if they only count the tax you pay at the pump. If they include natural gas and what the truckers, farmers, and businesses pay then almost everyone pays more. My natural gas bill alone is about $300 a year for this tax.
What does it cost to administer a tax collection program designed to generate supposed refunds. It must cost a fair amount to issue those many supposed refunds. Cheaper to reduce or cancel the tax entirely and fire the consultants.
They just took elements of the calculation out. Like when they last calculated inflation and claimed it has decreased but had taken out key influences on inflation. Of course it’s going to go down when you remove the factors that actually influence inflation.

I am 72 year-old pensioner living on a modest pension. With my pension I clear about $2700 a month and I get to CPP $1100 and I get OAS $650 so my mortgage has gone up six times and is now $2500 a month so after my mortgage is paid that leaves me with about $1700 to pay all the rest of my bills car insurance fuel and Hydro food and if this keeps up, I'm gonna be at the food bank myself. This is not the way I decided I was going to live my retirement years, it's ridiculous if anybody thinks that this country is in good financial shape needs to go so the rest of us can enjoy life instead of paying for wars. We don't need and everything else says financing the country with we don't need it. We don't want it we want to revert to the country that we had before all of this ridiculous
