Oh wow blast from the past and what a fantastic vocal from Maan!
I am a bit lost in understanding her and most of her generation, but God... If she performs she is more than amazing..
I have this Anita Meijer song on a Vintage Vinyl Album 👍 Maan sings it so good.
Maan is such an adorable young lady, and she has a great voice on her too.
Doing a Anita Meijer song is already a challenge for most singers, but this song, it's a very difficult song to sing and Maan did it as if it was her own song, she put herself on the "music map" thnx to this show, for sure. (she had won the voice or something before, but this was the real break through)
Now that you know this song (quite well), you HAVE to check out Anita doing this song, her song..., i know you like Anita's voice so i know you will love her original a lot.
Anita is rightfully one of the greats in our little country, her track record and the longevity of her songs are proof of that fact, her music still gets airtime on the radio. (over 40 years later)
As a Dutchie who absolutely loves this tv show, it is great to see people across the globe reacting to it and falling in love with the whole show, not just the artist they like, or that one song.
People like Valerie White Williams (Vocal Splendor Studios) and you (and several others), keep returning to the show because of the show itself.. and that is high praise towards the show in my book, because it shows that this concept works on an international level and that people do not have to know the artists or songs to love the content of it.

Some people sing and by doing that, spellbind people hearing them. i love singers that can forget about the training for a second. And lean on the fruits of that training to tell a story. When they have their training down so well that the emotions that are supposed to be hidden in the song come spilling out. That is when a singer and the song come out the way they were supposed to. no matter whether it is the original or not.
the singer singing the story. And the voice and technique are then merely part of an instrument.
I love people that can sing in service of the song.
Samantha Steenwijk singing "zonder Jou" a song im sure one of the most emotional songs from beste zangers everyone lose it in a minut, great song.
The song is one of my favorites, from Anita Meijer, and yes also from Glennis, because her singing is with this better
