I think the cas is okay, but I voted for the more 'older' style and cozy theme, because this style looks soooo much like parenthood and isn't really helping the 'YA simulator' state of the game, bc there isn't many items that look like what elders would wear :/ I would've loved to have seen Christmas type swatches for the jumpers! I also COMPLETELY agree with what you said about a lot of items looking similar to other from other packs, especially for the males!! I wish there was more unique cas content for the men and elders
I really wish this style didn’t win :( It reminds me too much of some of the stuff in parenthood and it’s all so colorful.. I really would have loved if they would have went more cozy, warm, and a more neutral color scheme. We wanted a granny pack and I feel like we didn’t get it...
Sadly I’m not too pleased with the CAS items. I was literally only excited for the baby hairs on that one hairstyle, that knitted top (which I love in white) and the boots. Perhaps maybe the gameplay and build/buy items will wow me instead.
we just need more "antique" clothes and furniture. like YES we have a lot of mid century modern furniture.. but very little clothing to match. I just want some old clothes and furniture for my elders 😭 no more modern clothes and furniture. the sims no longer needs modern clothes and furniture. the new clothes and furniture all look the same. I'm wamt. variety.
When you're on a male Sim the aspiration reads Lord instead of Lady! I only noticed cause I happened to watch plumbellas video first and saw it on her male character. I think it should have been left neutral for every character, especially for inclusivity reasons, I think you were right when you said royalty, something like that would have been perfect! Royal court of Knitters, the high court, there's probably 50 gender neutral options lol
iluv2cheer176 I'm pretty sure the name is referencing lady of the lamp ( Florence nightingale ) but why they chose that name seems so weird they could have used some many other names
I almost want to buy the pack just to give Darling Walsh the Aspiration to see what happens. Almost. All my Sims DLC money has been diverted to my Paralives fund. 😎
They should have hired knitters and weavers to tell them what is the main market for knitted and woven items. EA seem so lazy in recent years. And I agree, more items needed for sure. Different scarves and then a selection of gloves (mittens, finger-less gloves, standard ones). Not just socks. Possibly head accessories. Would tie in well to 'Seasons' and 'Eco Living'. Such a shame. Could have been so much more. Thanks for breaking it down. 😊
I just watched the newest Spark'd episode and I was so sorry to see your team eliminated. You guys were the rockers of the show!! I am not as excited now that you and SpringSims are gone. Thank you for the hours of enjoyable videos and your commentary on this newest pack.
Not a fan of the CAS or the general aesthetic of the pack. It's not my style at all. The male CAS is meh...but then, when isn't it? I can't see my boys liking any of it. I'll get it for plopsy, the metal channel and the hanging plants. I'll reserve judgement on the actual knitting until I can get my paws on it.
I like the bedazzled jeans less on there own but more in the context of the pack. Idk, i get the impression the wearer bedazzled them themself. It looks like something a teenager into diy friendship bracelets and decorations and, of course, knitting would wear. Ooooh now i want this pack so i can make this sim lol
On the topic of male hairstyles - I 100% agree! I‘d like to see messy buns, afro puffs, ponytails and longer masculine hair in general. Also more beards!
I would have preferred a pottery wheel and sewing machine like the Sims 2 Freetime. EA lost me as a customer when they booted me from the community for pointing out that dark Sims have shorter lifespans. Million dollar mistake. 😂
@@kikiholland3695 I created The Notebook household, played it for a Sim week, then noticed that Nurse Esther was halfway through her Elder lifestage when Duke and his wife were only about a quarter through. I uploaded screenshots of everything. They banned me the next time I tried to log on, so I just posted everything from it on Twitter and hashtagged all of it appropriately. I tagged the gurus. A week later, I noticed that EA made a hefty donation to BLM. I majored in public relations in college. One of my professors called that kind of a donation firefighting. It serves them right for programming racist algorithms into the Sims 4. The unplayed family is in the gallery under sleekoduck87. Duke has the Maker Aspiration, Nurse Esther has Friend of the World, and Duke's wife is Soulmate with the Erratic, Childish, and Hothead traits.
I feel like we’ve shot ourselves in the foot a bit with this one, tbh. We got to vote for everything, so we chose this parenthood-like aesthetic, but when we got to actually voting, we decided that we wanted grandma and it just seems to lack cohesiveness as a result, I think?
I feel like the sims has been leaning towards giving us winter/fall clothes since seasons came out and there was more of a reason to but I'm pretty tired of it as well. I won't be getting it based on CAS alone, not super impressed with it. I wish that there were more male items/kids stuff because I feel like the focus is always on young adult women and idk why. I always have to get cc if I want a range for kids/toddlers and male stuff.
It seems like the last 4 packs, I think, had winter/cozy clothing. I'm so sick of it lol even though that's my personal style since I love winter but come on already. And there was barely any winter coats or options in seasons.. But packs back to back with the same theme... No.
I honestly don’t mind the male hairs being similar because they’re good and I’ll use them. And they’re still slightly different to where I’m not using the same 2-3 hairs for every guy like I did in Sims 3.
4 роки тому+1
how we have color wheel for pet hair but not sims' hair is beyond me.
I also think that, on EA’s part, they sometimes put similar designs up for vote; of course we will end up voting for things we have in the game already if we are constantly being given that option. How can we vote for different items or styles when we keep getting the same one but in a different swatch, maybe a different texture? I do understand that making a game is hard work that we don’t totally see the weight of, but it could potentially be considered laziness.
Making new swatches/textures of a pre-existing swatch is pretty easy, *especially* if you have a base white swatch to work on top of (and if you don't, it's pretty easy to make it) Just for comparison, I can make over 25 swatches/variants of an existing mesh in under 1.5 hours EASILY, and I'm not really a cc creator of sorts that makes content on a consistent basis - but it was just to give you a bit of perspective. If you have S4S and any 2D editor (people seem to prefer photoshop, I personally use Gimp) you can make extra swatches and recolors of literally anything in the game, it's reaaaally not that hard
I think the CAS isn't super stellar amazing but I like all the assets that are in it if that makes sense. I really look forward to the gameplay parts rather than the CAS specific.
Guys the reason why there is not as much in cas is because you are supposed to Knit it and allow to put it in cas, Now I dont know if you have to knit it for each save file, I would assume yes but im not 100% sure! Also if you dont want to knit it all you can you the cheat (cas.unlockbytag sp17) im not sure how it works fully but thats the reason there is not that many clothes also its a stuff pack! Hopefully this helped! ❤
Thank you for your thoughtful input, Mollie! I will not get this pack straightaway, but I will get it later on because of the build mode items (especially the wooden swatches) and because of the knitting skill and Plopsy. I feel like this will be a nice addition to my game and my own family I like to play with, because my mom is a knitter irl. 😊
I clicked way to quickly I’m so excited for tomorrow The only reason for no new hairs for Toddlers is cause of they look too grown up that’s what they said on the stream
I would like different styles. But I'm not that bothered because I have clothes in real life that are pretty much the same or clothes that change slightly, so it is realistic. But I do want more variety, also more high waisted pants/skirts
12:57 - I agree. It's definitely a "damned if they do. damned if they don't" situation. But is it lazy? I'm glad we have them but I would also like children to have their own unique hair styles and not wonder if my adult sim has a child's hair cut or alternatively if my child sim has an adult hair style.

Judging solely from CAS, I think this pack is reeeally nice, but I don't own any other pack except base game and tiny living (I had an attack of compulsive game-buying the other day but I don't think I bought the sims packs...hope so lol) so I cannot do a full comparison of the items with previous wearables. I also like the fact that items are locked behind gameplay (buy from plopsy or knit yourself!), that ensures more depth. I'd like to lightly (spoiler there's no "lightly" in this 45 pages rant) - lightly tap onto the aspect of items looking similar: with 30+ packs they will of course look similar; they will always use things most people will buy, and basic stuff is...basic. A crop top will always look similar to another crop top unless they make it out of cardboard, knives and desperation. Knowing what we want at this point (I'll add on this at the end of what is coming to look like an essay), I think that a good move for the Sims would be to have different teams for different packs (as they already do) and for each and everyone of them to focus on different THEMES/MOODS, like country living (I'm teasing y'all horse girls) with more of a tech/avantgarde/scientific style, Ikea stuff pack with a Scandinavian style, and so on, and they need to work at the same time, with meetings every so often that they don't replicate stuff. I'm not talking about turning their wacky, larger than life art style upside down, that needs to stay because of artistic integrity and product identifiability/branding, but the mood the packs will instil - as we saw that the community is not happy with having so much cosiness for so much time. I can only imagine the hard work the Sims team is putting in trying to keep up with EA demands (Simmer Erin just started an investigation series on EA), and at this point, I think they are burning out with the burden of a community lashing out at you for choices they didn't make in the first place and a company squeezing them like a lemon to throw away after they did what they were asked for; at the same time I perceive a lack of organisation and long time vision that a team at the end of the decision chain can still have, but will never have if crushed continually. How could they ever be able to fix the base game if they have two years of content already outlined? Also, and that's the end, do we really think we know what we want? Country living ('s speculation) was a pack that sent the community into the outer space from excitement and yet we don't want a cosy experience anymore. So, is the shed in the valley or the barn on the hills of our dream made out for the martian landscape? Is everything the Sims team guilt, or are we so stimulated by the world we live in that we want everything at the same time from people who cannot achieve what we are demanding from them?
They really should have just bedazzled the pockets. it would have made way more sense. It was kinda the thing back in the late 2000s. The bedazzling on the thighs just looks like someone who got a bedazzler for their birthday and ran out before finishing the garment.
3:38 the edges aren’t separate because that’s how some black people do their edges when they have locs/faux locs/braids/or just their natural hair out.
I get that 100% but I think it'd be nice to have them as an accessory so we could also use them on Black hairs from other packs that are also locs or braid styles 😊 savvysweet actually made them as accessories with cc for this reason
We are getting more black hair styles and textures which I love but where is that diversity for the guys? I wish the aspiration didn't have "lady" and "lord" in it but a genderneutral term. We already can't choose our sims pronouns, it's 2020 come on, but they could've at least not have that term for the people that are telling a story
I wish we like choose our sims pronouns too, I think they said the reason they haven’t done it yet is because it’s a translation issue for some other languages
@@Jrr592 i'm so confused, wouldn't they have the same problem for every other word they use because languages are different and words are different in different languages...
Rosa Leeuwin I don’t know all the details but pixelade or some other you tuber said that not every language as a non binary option for people, it just like doesn’t exist in some languages (idk for sure so take this with a grain of salt)
@MySoulHasLeftTheGroupChat I wonder how people in different countries that are non-binary refer to themselves. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have come up with a pronoun if there was non. I feel like it's worth for the Sims team to do some research in this topic and at least have you choose pronouns for the languages that do have a word for it.
@@rosaleeuwin5301 a big part of the reason that Americans are so baffled by trans issues is that English is gender neutral. When I lived in Israel,it was easy to spot trans children because of the pronouns they used. It changed my views on the whole subject.
Why do people complain about that aspiration name? It's the first stuff pack to even have an aspiration and I'm happy they added it, why's the name such an issue?
a lot of people make nonbinary sims, and with the push to make pronouns gender neutral across the board for sims, it just seems out of place. it's awesome to see an aspiration in a stuff pack, and no one is discrediting that, but it's still an important topic to critique when the game claims to be targeted towards inclusivity.
I'm not saying im not glad we got as aspiration. like Luna said I just don't think it needed to be gendered with pronouns and lady/lord (I get that some people are saying this is a reference to lord of the flies and such) but the game has done so well recently with replacing gendered pronouns in notifications with they/them and it seems weird that this is so heavily binary in its word choice

I think I voted for 50... and 1 other. I must not be on the same wave length as the community because I thought there were some really nice cas items none of which made it that I voted for. Yikes :/
it's a little frustrating because I voted for knitting specifically hoping for elders content and instead we got a semi arts and crafts, pinterest person kind of deal. It's alright, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table, the game is already filled to the brim with the mid century furniture, knitting is something new to do which I can't complain, but idk.... yea yea democracy, I'll deal eventually hahah
I am not all that into any of the hair but the male hair I am not a fan of at all and also the male cas items are very similar to stuff we have already. The poor male sims get no love and there are quite a few male Gurus so I am kind of confused as to why.
I won't be buying this mainly because my game is still not 90% and adding more packs will probably break my game again. I love CAS the most in the sims.. Well after gameplay but it seems like the build mode is much better than the CAS. It seems like that's where this game is headed towards building only and I'm still annoyed that they had us vote on clutter. That should've been a given or added after we voted on actual gameplay items.
stuff packs usually only have one main "gameplay item" though, it's always been that way. the newer releases are 50x better than the older SPs as they actually have extra playable content such as plopsy
As bland as the furniture in this game is, at least they aren't making everything look country like sims 3 Also, I wish they would stop tagging *every* masculine hair for feminine as well, 'cause it makes it seem like they're putting more focus on Adult Females than anyone else.
I would have loved to see scarves as an accessory instead of just having some top options that include scarves.
I wanted more for elders...would have been nice if EA had thrown in a few full-body outfits that looked more "granny-ish".
we had the chance in the vote but they lost out :(
The community would’ve lost it if EA had held a vote and then added stuff we didn’t choose, sadly.

Wasn’t that hairstyle with the baby hairs actually cc and the pack makers stole it and didn’t give credit?
Sydney Colton I bet it is, but for me personally I can’t use cc cuz it’ll freeze my game, so I’m glad they finally made an EA version of it

So, is the shed in the valley or the barn on the hills of our dream made out for the martian landscape? Is everything the Sims team guilt, or are we so stimulated by the world we live in that we want everything at the same time from people who cannot achieve what we are demanding from them?
byeeeeee I am mental
Save your money, use CC and wait for Paralives.
They really should have just bedazzled the pockets. it would have made way more sense. It was kinda the thing back in the late 2000s. The bedazzling on the thighs just looks like someone who got a bedazzler for their birthday and ran out before finishing the garment.
Your female model is so cute. Sure would like to know what default eyes you are using?
What sims skin do you use? 😍
@@EnglishSimmer ohhh yeah same :))
I’m still Team Gnome!!❤️❤️❤️
I actually use the "yellow" blonde. I don't use the orange blonde because... who has hair like that?
trump
@@MissCartersWorld lol Well besides him?
The orange blonde is the closest the game has to my natural hair colour..
MaikenTJ I wasn’t aware. I’m sorry. I didn’t know.
@@aquahexlive How would you know? :D You have nothing to apologise for! Also my hair is nowhere near Trumps shade.. So I don't know if I'm thinking of the same colour :/
I will admit there have been packs ive just for the cas this will not be one im still dont know if im getting this one ploppcy is cool put my sims have bouht retail stores and tured them into art galleries the rocking chairs might be the selling point for me
What do you guys think the next stuff pack is going to be? I think it is going to be more beards and pricings. Please reply with your answer instead of just liking it please.
probably the rest of the arts and crafts in 5 separate stuff packs so they can profit
I’ve not been impressed with any pack’s CAS since Realm of Magic...
Isn't lady of the knit supposed to homage to the lady of the lamp i.e. Florence nightingale
Lord of the knit (nit) - Lord of the Flies.
Shocked that you didn't like this since you're like 60 years old.
you're right, the CAS assets should have been more for my age than younger adults
I’ll be buying this pack purely for Yarny 🧶. Literally nothing else lol
I didn't understand one thing: only females can use the new aspiration?
no it's for males too. I just don't think it should've been gendered in the writing
Does anyone know when it's coming out on ps4?
I won't be buying this mainly because my game is still not 90% and adding more packs will probably break my game again.
I love CAS the most in the sims.. Well after gameplay but it seems like the build mode is much better than the CAS. It seems like that's where this game is headed towards building only and I'm still annoyed that they had us vote on clutter. That should've been a given or added after we voted on actual gameplay items.
stuff packs usually only have one main "gameplay item" though, it's always been that way. the newer releases are 50x better than the older SPs as they actually have extra playable content such as plopsy
Seems pretty meh...
As bland as the furniture in this game is, at least they aren't making everything look country like sims 3
Also, I wish they would stop tagging *every* masculine hair for feminine as well, 'cause it makes it seem like they're putting more focus on Adult Females than anyone else.
Lady of the knits is perfect ok. Dawm its annoying.
