SUPERATV / SLIKROK + GDP PORTALS AT WINDROCK OFFRAOD = EPIC WHEELING

- October 25th,2019 we drove south to Windrock Off-Road Park in Oliver Springs, TN to meet up with our good friends from SlikRok Productions. They made the trek over all the way from Utah to experience some extreme Midwest wheeling.
The main drive to this ride was to show that GDP Portals not only shine in the south and out west but also can be a huge game changer here in the Midwest. More ground clearance, gear reduction and larger tires = perfect combination to tackle gnarly rock trails with ease.
We tackled trail 21 & trail 39 which made for an epic day of wheeling.

I heard this at least 3 times, so let me correct it. Windrock is in Tennessee, Tennessee is not the midwest. It's the south east.
Thanks for the clarification lol.
Yes! I was thinking the same thing lol
I'm an East Tennessean thanks for fixing that.
Someone needs to get that guy a map
MID WEST?????!!!!! You’re in the SOUTH!!!!!!
Minor details lol
What brand and size (diameter and backspacing) of wheel are you running on the purple car?
How much top end you lose with gear reduction in portals.
All depends on what % reduction and what size tires are being used. If you go with a large enough tire you wont loose enough to notice.
Which ones would you recommend if you already have a 70 30 15 gear reduction in the transmission......on my Yxz1000r
I like the 4" GDP Portals with the 15% gear reduction if you already have a gear reduction in the transmission.
What size portals are on those turbo s?
They are 4" GDP Portals with the 15% gear reduction.

Y’all know of anyone who sells a tapered axle with an outer sleeve to limit deflection?
Why is the portal bracket different on the rear @1:45? It looks all billet. What's the suspension/tire set up on the same machine?
That is the bearing adapter for the RZR Turbo S models.
It has our front high clearance a-arms and rear trailing arms: www.superatv.com/shop/polaris/rzr/rzrxp4turbos#/filter:product_category:A-Arms
The tires are the 35" XT Warrior Tires - SlikRok Edition: www.superatv.com/xt-warrior-tires-slikrok-edition
SuperATVMedia what trailing arms are on that machine?

I’ve been debating hard on these. I like that black & purple one you have & wanna set mine up the same. Did you run sway bars because the articulation was really good unlike mine. I have 33s with a bracket lift. Can’t decide between 15% & 30% reduction. 30% with 34s how much speed do you lose? Thanks
Thanks @dazaris81
I have sway bars disconnected on this machine, it articulates so much better this way. I honestly haven't done a top speed run but have had it up to 65mph no problem while wheeling out in Moab getting to a different trail head. I'm a huge fan of the 30% reduction especially if you really don't get over 60mph very often.
IF YOU PUT LONG ROBOTIC LEG ON ATV IT CAN CLIMB ANY HIGH ROCK. NO PROBLEM.!!! 👌😜
The Midwest 🤦🏻♂️. I'm hurt, I feel offended, and I feel attacked.
West Coast meet Midwest 🤝
No thanks. Instead of spending the extra $4k I'll just pick a good line and worst case winch lol
Half the battle wheeling in the rocks is picking good lines, but we all know ground clearance is king and portals offer a great solution for more ground clearance, a lower low gear allowing larger tires which in return equals even more ground clearance.
