Legitimately any guitar Greg plays will be one of the best you've ever heard. There are really nothing very special about this strat, except for the vintage hype. If you do not believe check some Wildwood strats from John Cruz that Greg plays Best regards
the irony is that no one in '57 was doing half the licks he was doing. hahah He's got some nice skills and a breadth of guitar lick knowledge that is pretty wide, it seems.
Be careful with that tuner on the headstock I put one on mine and it peeled the decal off very costly mistake on my end please take note just a heads up
Looks like they polished the rosewood to a glossy sheen in the high use areas of the neck. I am using a nail buffer super fine surface to get this on my guitar. If it looks shiny it should sound shiny and spanky. I just want that goldy locks tone between rosewood and maple.
Original Vintage Strat and new CS will never sound the same, the fundemental of the tone is so different, it's like two parallel lines that will never meet...
just a side question mr. Greg the red Stratocaster you used in your SRV instructional videos what guitar was that I've seen the video so much it is ingrained in my brain
Florian Späth wow really? This is exactly what marketing does to good people. I know man that those pickups are not suppose to be EVH hot. But they are not meant to be dead sounding for sure. There are many many bad vintage guitars that does not worth the money they ask for. But with a little marketing... Or those pickups are to low. It possible.
They don't look to be set too low, in as much as you can judge by looking, but I do think this sounds crap. Thin, weedy, hollow mids, scratchy top end. Mr. Koch does tend to set his sound too bright for my taste I've noticed. But he's demo'd strats that sound better than this. And maybe the action's too low, it sounds like the notes don't have room to sound. I'd like to know what these pickups' magnets read, maybe they've lost some power over the years. I'm no expert but I do wonder what some of the people commenting along the lines of 'best strat tone ever' are hearing. The word 'vintage', I think.
I have 72252. Neck is 12-61. I've owned it for 30 years. These things are Magic.
Hope yours sounds better than this one
Paul Cowart This one sounds just like any 61 Strat should sound.
I’ve got 69125 another 11/61
Wild how great this strat sounds. Man I can binge these clips for hours and hours. Playing is so good. Learning and inspiring. Thanks Greg🎸🤘
Far out Greg, some of your best playing in this - sublime. Lovely sounding Strat too.
Legitimately one of the best guitars ive ever heard. Holy Smokes!!!!!!

I was born in late October, 1961...just a few days before this guitar was born. So I think I should have it!
the irony is that no one in '57 was doing half the licks he was doing. hahah He's got some nice skills and a breadth of guitar lick knowledge that is pretty wide, it seems.
friend 'o mine had a red '61, he gave it up for? what are deficits that are tied to this guitar ?
Gotta print out this video and put it in the case.
I’d love that exact look with locking tuners a humbucker in the bridge and the 9.5 radius
The Fender Stratocaster the King of all Guitars..now this is a fantastic Demo
This simply never gets boring...
I have a reissue same thing but 5 way switch and I love it
I notice you did afew seconds Otis rush version of *everything will be just fine* love that
Be careful with that tuner on the headstock I put one on mine and it peeled the decal off very costly mistake on my end please take note just a heads up
joe thompson looked like a bad idea soon as I started watching this
Are the decals under the finish on the vintage strats?
Drogers8675 yes, and that nitro thins out and shrinks over time making those decals even more fragile
joe thompson wow, good tip!
B J you nailed it! I like an in-line on the floor....

Amazing guitar!
Brazilian Rosewood fretboard ? a magic ingredient .
Looks like it needs a little nourishment, though...
The tree is dead.
Which has ZERO affect on tone.
Original Vintage Strat and new CS will never sound the same, the fundemental of the tone is so different, it's like two parallel lines that will never meet...
The run up he does at 6:31 wtf? How does someone get to that??? Amazing.
Neil you should check out two of Greg Koch‘s original songs: „Spank It“ and „Tonus Diabolicus“ his skill is unreal...
0:58 from wich song is this lick?
Exquisite, thank you Sir.
And a nice demo cat really nice ax to go with it Bravo brother Bravo
I can also feel it too
With Greg’s playing, you’d get to hear exactly how good the guitar actually is
Pick hand looks like it's barely working. A smooth pro !! Great playing Gregory !!
Strats look the best on stage than any other guitar.
A thing of undiluted beauty.
So why is there no trace of this instrument on the site? (not that I'd have the $23k Wildwood probably wanted for it)
just a side question mr. Greg the red Stratocaster you used in your SRV instructional videos what guitar was that I've seen the video so much it is ingrained in my brain
1.38 to 1.44 this sounds more like Hendrix than the Hendrix song. How do i loop this on youtube.
Issa real 61
Sweet weaponized Christmas burgers!
Early 60s Stratocasters & late 50s lp bursts, IMO, provide for the most exquisite rock tone one can acheive
Figgie Smalls Clapton's "Brownie" is a '56
I love me a 59’ Strat
Fender amp on 3, surprised you got any hearing left
What was that at 5:28? I don't think I've seen anybody ever do that!
He's just banging on the base of the trem with the heel of his hand. Exaggerated here, but he does it quite a bit.
Well, yeah...but that had a little more spice than usual, even for Greg...sounded awesome..
Who ever buys this delightful darling wins the prize. She is glorious!
Damn Greg.
Great Caesar's ghost, that sounds sublime. Oy Vey!
Oh my lanta
5:05 holy shit!!
wow, the custom shop did a great job with this relic /s
What song is at 1:00
Nathan Herring Hear my train a comin’ (Jimi Hendrix )
30/03/2019 Great Greg Koch at the Gilgamesh Turin Italy ... 😎🤟
My oh my , it's a real one Ha Ha !
Real deal
the kochinator, a man so glassy on a strat he turns transparent when playing
That's some tasty playin
glad it's not a 1991
Oooohhhh
👍👍👍👍👍
7073
Me want..!
Think of all of the relic crap that has flooded the market and ask yourself if any of it looks like this fine 60 year old guitar.
guy smokes carrots outta guitar , amazing
👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸
Sorry great player even better salesman, but those singlecoils are toast.
Yeah pull those pups Thought something sounded off
clip-on tuner pressing on the decal makes me nervous 😧
i think Greg got emotional with this one..
👋💡
Annoying voice inflexion ALERT: 1:57 4:30 6:45 Fine ass playing though !!
Show' em how its done big cat
Was surprised I didn't care for the clean tone Drive tone was ok Nothing special or magical with this one
Thin sounding
The single coils need replacement
I had a 63 for years. I now have a 70 custom shop that sounds better than that one. Go figure.
Redjet custom shops are also different
There are Shishkov strats that suck.
My dad was born in 63.
Closest i have gone to owning one is that I have played a
54 56 60 62 and 66 and own a 79.
Not surprised about that Some are MUCH better than others This one wasn't all that
Those are very weak pickups. Or they are set up to low.
Florian Späth wow really? This is exactly what marketing does to good people. I know man that those pickups are not suppose to be EVH hot. But they are not meant to be dead sounding for sure. Florian Späth ok
Not sure if you're attempting to suggest this doesn't sound articulate or meaty because it seriously does

Florian Späth Ah, there's that 'should' word. Everyone is going to have a different idea of what a strat 'should' sound like.
I stay away from the vintage stuff. There to expensive to play and also you never really know the exact year. sometimes its just a pencil date.
The month and year I was born in My grammy's house...12 pounds...i love you mom!
There's something boring about stratocasters ...
Now give this Guitar to Eric Clapton so we can Really Hear It !!!!
Trevor Graham Welch Eric Clapton wishes he was as good a guitarist as Greg Koch!
