So glad I found this video - this is one of the best reviews/ tutorials on how to do this in my opinion and I’ve done the last method on two of my expensive decks .
Pro tip- I bought the brilliance dew drops and afterwards took a small foam paintbrush with some modge podge sealer and let it fully dry. No transfer and I haven’t felt any noticeable difference when I shuffle . I’ve just done this recently so haven’t had it long enough to see any long term effects
I've used acrylic gold and silver pens to edge decks which worked well. I have a gold ink pad that I'll have to give a try...
🤣 This was so amusing and educational, thank you! You're adorbz. 💓 Just ordered some tsukineko brilliance ink pads but might get the crayolas too to layer and get more customizable colours. I had to pay $25 for a pack of 4 ink stamps but they are so highly rated and I've never edged a deck so that's what we gonna do!

Why not just buy a marker with a flat tip? It seems the pointed markers are a disaster waiting to happen. I don't have the most steady hands. And with oil-based paints or metallics, maybe put a coat of clear epoxy paint to seal it. Another thing is that clamps are great & won't transfer if you're using a light coat of aerosol paints, like a spray can or airbrush tool.
TOTALLY seeing this late BUT I don't think a flat tip would be a bad idea at all, in all honesty, I used mostly what I had around the house from other projects. I also thought maybe the ink could be more concentrated if the tip were more "fine" but I definitely need to try a flat tip! That would definitely help with slipping.
When you shuffle your wild unknown do you get color transfer everytime? I did a deck in crayola and it gets on my fingers :/ but I love the color
I don’t! I actually usually have issues with the paints sometimes with transfer.
