Love the Fringe, amazing to see a variety of stuff that you think is good and not so good & challenge what you see as a great show ! Went to a show that felt was not so good however my husband and I were the only ones watching it and it was a one man show, it was an experience though !

Joel I am the exact same way but I chalked it up to being an introvert. I’m actually hard of hearing but extremely loud/sudden noises are very stressful for me (ambulances, fireworks, smoke detectors, race cars, cars backfiring) it actually brings tears to my eyes the anxiety is that bad 😩

Love these chit chats u have w/ us. Makes us feel like we're there w/ u. I'm not an ADHD expert, but I do know that attention spans have been decreasing significantly since the year 2000. We're constantly switching between apps, and scrolling thru reels & trying to do work etc... It's so many things trying 2 grab our attention nowadays, aka "the noise".
I enjoyed this vlog very much.
Although we don't have autumn in my part of the tropical world, we certainly welcome the rainy days (a relief from very hot weather, but not the occasional hurricanes. And in my country, we start/get ready for Christmas in September!!!

i totally agree Joel! that is one of the best feelings, to have a hot drink in hand, sitting at home in the afternoon when it's windy and "nipply" outside, and just chilling out with a book, programme or favourite pastime! especially for us homebodies who aren't big on crowds or too much social! :)

Joel, you may be an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person). This personality type has sensory-processing sensitivity, increased emotional sensitivity, and we have a strong reactivity to both external and internal stimuli-pain, hunger, light, and noise. It's hard on us, but since we're hyper-aware of our surroundings, it makes us excellent observers... and creators... and performers...

I've never been diagnosed, but I believe I have asperger's...I have all the symptoms, uncomfortable in social settings, usually not sure when someone is joking or being serious, totally unable to "read" other people. I too hate loud noises...they almost send me into a panic. But I never knew that was also a symptom of autism.

Hey Joel! It was lovely bumping into outside New York, New York at Manchester Pride early Saturday evening. Knew you were going to Pride so kept a little look out for you and there you were! Was great briefly meeting Keegan when he came out from getting drinks inside. You probably won't remember, but our names were Pete & John from Bury. Just hope you didn't mind me patting the side of your face just before we left. I was saying to myself afterwards, "Oh my God, why did I do that?" I think I was just so pleased to meet you. I hope you didn't find it patronising or odd in any way. I also fist-bumped Keegan's chest! I was a little tipsy, so I apologise. Anyway, hope you enjoyed yourselves at Pride. You're both as pleasant in person.
I know what you mean about book series… I got to book 20 in a series and could not get into the book. But I stopped and have not gone back to it. The bad thing is the author passed away before the she stated the last book.
If phone case is a problem...just try leaving your phone at home when you go out like I do. Phone does not ned to be on you constantly.

I am feeling similar to you about getting tested for ADHD and autism, I'm pretty confident I have both but the testing is a lot of trouble and it won't change my life much. I would be nervous about trying medication anyway.
Hey Joel, you were talking about using your portable AC with a casement window....and the velcro thing that sticks to the window and lets you zip it shut is one way, but I actually came across this, maybe you could guys could try it next time it gets hot there....I can't put a link but the video title is "Portable air conditioner with crank / casement windows : DIY exhaust mount". Maybe Keegan can help with that. Although that method seems that it works better if you have a bug screen on the window. Both you guys seem handier than me. I'm a computer nerd lol.
Believe me, after you've had that AC for a while, you're going to wonder how you got through summers without it! Here in California it's always been hot, but it's getting hotter everywhere, with global warming....Seattle, in Washington State, USA, is on the same latitude as Paris, and when I lived in the area, serving on US Navy submarines, I rarely if ever used the AC in the barracks....that was in 2003 when I got out....and back then only about 35% of people in Seattle had AC. Now, things are so much warmer there that 65% of people in Seattle now have AC! 😲

Just out of curiosity, why are you drinking instant coffee when there's a perfectly good Nespresso machine on your counter? I'm sure you know you can adjust the machine to make either an esspresso or a longo. The creama on top is devine. Cheers!

As someone who has had ADHD it all depends BECAUSE it's a spectrum. Sometimes it makes your brain feel like it's flipping channels at high speed and sometimes not. I get bored easy also I am disorganized alot ....
You not need need to get tested. You are a human being. We are all different, if not life would be boring.

Oh I so agree! Unique interesting people who have their own way of doing things and are often brilliant (but just aren’t conforming to how everyone else does things) doesn’t mean they have ADHD or Autism. We need to be more tolerant of unique personalities not label it a mental disorder. Plus no one is paying attention to the fact that a true autistic person doesn’t have much awareness of themselves or others. I’ve personally never met a true autistic person let alone the fact that 80% of the population has that diagnosis when they probably are wiser and more interesting than the average person in society.

You just might have ADHD because you remind me of me. I haven’t had a formal diagnosis, yet I know I have it being a retired teacher. I live in The USA and around here on the 4th with all the fireworks make me quite nervous, so loud noises drive me crazy.

I think society thesedays is a bit snowflakey imo, might be an unpopular view/opinion & yes there are many genuine (i also have friends/family with some, some genuine others seem self-inflicted) but i dont know how we ever got by in the past. It's as if some lives aren't complete without a diagnosis of one thing or another, whether it's a food, psyche/mental or behavioural issue. Could just be me whinging but it's everywhere you turn it's exhausting. x
