Concrete slab takes a lot more labor and time to install and cure. This method is quick, simple and a cheaper solution for smaller canals and drainage channels. Not sure what is the upper limit on size this technique can be used for.

Can this be used for a swimming pool, then after hardening (approx 24-48hrs), tiles can be layed over?
This is not for s/pools, am sure you can use for ponds because if you use in s/pool the water pressure will pop it out even if concrete it ,
