Congrats on the pass brother!
Started at a 27 on my first nbme, and now I’m in my 50s lol. Exams in November, so this video was super reassuring 💪🏻
Thank you my man! There's so many people out there like us, we are all together and we will all pass together, just work hard and work smart, everything will play out perfectly!
did you take your exam ? what happened?
Nice content! I would recommend getting a mic to improve audio quality
Thanks! So I had a mic, but it wasn't working properly, got it I will try and get it all fixed for future videos, thank you. Stay tuned for future content!
Hey! So how much time do we need to go through all the things that you mentioned, are 5 months enough? And what do you think of Boards and Beyond?
It took me about 4 months to do this with school going on simultaneously. So I would say if you have nothing else you can do this in 3 months with full focus and learn everything you need to know to pass!
I just failed the USMLE exam. 😔🥺 I cannot begin to articulate the level of embarrassment and heartache I'm feeling. This is so heartbreaking 💔
Just say "I haven't passed yet." Don't take it as a failure but see it as a learning opportunity. There is a lot of power in "Yet", you are telling yourself that you will get there and that your eyes and heart are still fixed on your goal
Well! Mann I've taken the Step 1 for the second time now and still didn't succeed, I wonder how those who succeeded did it
You will pass I believe everyone has their season, just keep going pray, and believe you will receive
I failed 3 times, and I lost money to reviews that never helped but the major thing is that I've not lost hope
I took the step 1 last month. I'm very disappointed, the exam is not even close to the practice material that the prep book sells online. The level of difficulty is like 5x or 6x.
Thank you so much i have such low confidence yet you made me feel hopeful
Ofc, we can all do it, its a lot of hard work but keep self-belief it will be done! If you have any questions please let me know
@@kgoswami14 thank you. But where can I find duke pathoma
And Anki app free for iPhone
Thank you, Kartik, for the great content and the links. Congratulations.
Thank you! Hopefully it helps, Let me know if you have any questions!
The video helps a lot. I am an IMG based in Texas preparing for step one. Will definitely reach out if I have any questions. Thanks for doing this.
@@August28. Ya no worries, good luck!
Hey guys, the solution to your NGN is here, be it RN or PN. I just passed my Nclex RN with Dr Luther, i advise anyone preparing for the nclex, be it RN or PN, just get to him, and you will pass your test 💯%
Thank you much. I'm quite suprised you didn't lay much emphasis on the nbme's as others would. Heard a lot about the free 120's .
Hey! So NBMEs are great for practice especially cause they cover similar content as the actual test and show where you lie in terms of score. But the test format is not exactly the same as the real deal. Uworld and Free 120 are very similar in terms of formatting if not exactly like the real deal. Although please please still do NBMEs as they are a good indicator of where your score will lie on test day, they are pretty accurate in terms of scoring regardless of which one you take. Basically use them as stepping stones to see where you lie. So that's my take on them, they're great to see where you are standing, but not perfect in terms of formatting.
Hello dr karthik goswami. Subscribed long back. Absolutely loved your content. I am an img student studying abroad, i was not well during my mbbs, so couldnt concentrate much on studies. Now i am in final year, now i want to start preparing usmle. I just wanted to know how many months approx it would take if i literally start from nothing like with zero knowledge. And does mbbs grades effect my cv during match process. Please let me know doctor
Thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry to hear that, but I can reassure you that I also started with basically zero knowledge. I would say that it will take you around 4 months to start studying everything and learn it well using the materials mentioned in the video. In terms of the mbbs grades I'm sure they will glance at it for match but I'm not really sure how much it will affect match, I really believe step is more important and it you have you are passionate for medicine through some extracurriculars then you should be ok. I hope that answered your questions, please message me anytime you have a quesstion.
the audio is poor 🙄
I know sorry this was my first video i made, im tyring to improve
"Liftoff! We have a liftoff"
yessir
Hi, can I ask how much do you score on NBME practice exams?
im not sure how much score exactly but the percents started around low 40s and I went up incrementally to high 60s after taking almost all of them
This is awesome - congrats Kartik!
Thanks brotha, always an inspiration to me!
hey love the video. but could you specify at what time in premed did you both passively and actively started preparing for USMLE
Thank you! So I did passive studying my fall of 2nd year med school, and started actively preparing winter of 2nd year. Hope that helps!
@@kgoswami14 yes! thank you
Could you describe how you did your corrections document in notability?
yes ofc! so on my notability I split it up into:
Cardio
Heme
Endo
Repro
GI
Neuro
Pulm
Renal
Stats
Biochem
Immuno
Psych
Viruses/Bacteria
Drugs
MSK
Doc Ethics
Random
Thats the topics I used to organize my notes, and I put world corrections under those topics depending on where I thought they fit best. So I took notes on all questions I thought I didnt know something about even the correct ones, and organized whatever knowledge I learned into one of the above categories. Hope this helps, lmk if you have any more questions!
Notability is an app like word? Thanks!

Very informative video 😊
of course man, thank you
Ur voice is not good bcz of bad microphone

I am now in 2nd year. I want to prepare myself from now. What will be better for me? And how could i prepare my self? You all are my senior please give me suggestions
Hello, congrats on being in second year! I would say start watching all of Pathoma with extra emphasis on chapters 1-3 maybe rewatch those after you watch all of pathoma. As you watch each chapter unlock Duke's deck which correlates with all of the material. Then watch sketchy micro and pharm and do the subsquent anki for it. Watch dirty medicine for biochem and look up stats summary for step 1. Start doing uworld a few months before your test, and do a few practice tests. That should be good to start prepping. Let me know if you have further questions!
what about GOLJAN?
Goljan is amazing! i didnt mention but its really good i used it for the month before test and i think it really helped!
it seems like your using the anking deck
I used Duke Deck for Step 1
Is uworld pathoma and first aid enough for usmle step1
More than enough! uworld and pathoma and sketchy is what i recommend to students, first aid is great its just a lot of book lol, if you have time go through it!
@@kgoswami14 i saw many videos and they are telling so many resources and i got comfused thats why ia asked
No worries, everyone goes about it differently but I truly believe since it’s pass fail now the basic resources are more than enough for a good foundation to pass and get you to be at a good place for step 2
Hey can u say me if 33%is 145 score then how much percentage is needed for 196 score... Please reply
196 estimates to be around a 63ish percent I believe
When is the best time to take first NBME ?
Probably 1.5 ish to 2 months out, because then you have time to take all of them which I recommend and you can change your study habits if needed
When did you give your step 1?
April 2023
Ya paraphrased my story i went from 160 to 235 withing 6 months, got step 2ck in 2 months keep me in prayers.
Good job my man! and Goodluck on step 2! mine is coming up soon too, we got this!
Hey, good luck with your exam. May you prosper. I had a question. Which years of med school do you take step 1 and 2? Ill actually start med school this year and was wondering when I should ideally start preparing for USMLE. Im actually from pakistan so we have a total of 5 years of med school.
@@hammad3180 hello bud, i am a 2020 graduate and i never thought of usmle first, but than after graduating i developed interest towards it and 6 months after finishing my internship i wrote step 1, step 1 becoming pass/fail made alot of students to give it during there ms2 or ms3, so ill recommend u to write it during that time. Before when i was in 2nd year it was scored and nobody risked giving it till they got graduated, only few had the courage to study for scored step1 and prepare for university exams aswell. So it being p/f u dont have to worry about score, but make sure u study well for it. Cuz if your step 1 knowledge is weak its gonna be reflective on your step 2, and step 2 score is the only objective criteria available so score matters in step 2ck. Rest everbodys journey is different, early or late winning matters. When it comes to preparing starts from day 1 buy first aid book and read from it.
@@hammad3180 Hello! so step 1 in end of year 2 and step 2 is end of year 3 in the U.S Goodluck with starting school! I would say after u learn your basic knowledge for all systems take step 1 and after some clinical/real world knowledge take step 2

How many times did u do uworld?
i did uworld 1 time fully, and then did all my incorrect again
Bro.. Any tips for neuro?
For neuro i would say pathoma covers a good chunk of it and boards and beyond can cover the tumors that pop up on the test often
Thank you for a complete breakdown of your study methods / routine. May I ask, how long did it take you (time wise) to review your block of 40 U-world questions. I just want to get an idea so I can fine tune my study schedule - thanks again
I'm glad you liked it! For me reviewing a 40 question block took around an hour, I went through every question even if it was right and just reinforced what I knew or learned something new and wrote it down. I ended up having over a hundred pages of hand written notes on just things I thought were important from my corrections
@kgoswami14 thank you so much for the reply - this will give me an benchmark to work towards. Keep the great content coming!!!
@@realddh Ofc! Let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you will do my best!
How long did it take to study for a pass??
I studied for 4 months basically starting from zero

Get to Dr Luther for your NCLEX assistance. I’m so happy I finally passed my exams thanks to him. He’s got a magical qbank which will help you become a RN

Have u used anki?
Yes I did! I used Duke's Deck
@@kgoswami14 its necessary to use Anki if wanna write exam in a year about?
@@SufyanKhattak-h3r Not necessary, but if you have poor memory like me then its a great way to keep up your knwoledge!

Hi do u think uworld is enough for step 1 to pass ?
Yes, 100% my peers and I have only used world to pass step 1! Although id recommend you go through it once and do your incorrect over again if time permits
@@kgoswami14 really Thankyou you are the one who give me some hope :) can u guide me how to solve uworld I mean how to learn questions and explanations and are the any chance uworld questions come in exam ?
@@drleenajvlogs3076 That's my goal to provide hope! for uworld there are two ways to go about it. One is tutor mode which is you do one question and then it tell you if you're right or not. It gives you the whole explanation for all answer choices and why the right one is right. The other way is standard mode where you just do all your question and then review each question. Regardless which you choose make sure to read almost everything in the explanation per question, it will really help you learn the concepts and why its right or wrong
@@kgoswami14 Thankyou so much I’m going to give the exam in couple months
@@drleenajvlogs3076 ofc! goodluck on it!
Hey! One question is you guys using uworld from your beginning like do any particular system in FA the. Their uworld or do FA as a holistically then start doing uworld which way did you follow?
Other question how'd be if take start of doing sketchy micro & pharma then at the end their anki cards?
So I didnt review FA fully thru ever. I just did Uworld by sections at first to master each subject, and then eased into do multiple sections. Yes for sketchy micro and pharm unlock their anki cards when ur done.
Like you did uworld by first subject wise?
Which things you used to tackle anatomy?
And your's med school which resources are used for Physiology and biochemistry?
@@SufyanKhattak-h3r yes I did subject wise first
Hi
Thanks for the links you posted. But, I am not able to download the sketchy videos . There is some issue with it. Could you please help with that. It will be very helpful for me.
Hello, ya so for sketchy you would have to pay sketchy themselves for membership or other third party websites that house sketchy material, that's the only way that I know of for obtaining their content. Hopefully that helps, let me know if you have more questions
