  • in this video i demonstrated the function of optocoupler or opto-isolator. this simulated tutorial will help in understanding opto-coupler isolated signal transmission. i used PC817 and TL431 for signal transfer.

    very nice explanation,but I don't understand why the input of the the optocoupler is ac?? as we all know the the flactuating DC output voltage is fed to the input of optocoupler,so as to make corrections in the SMPS IC.Can u please explain further why this is so, sir??

      wa alaikum salaam dear brother
      basically every optocoupler have an LED in input side which uses DC voltage to operate
      in output side there are photo transistor, MOSFET, TRIAC, SCR and controlled push pull drivers. the type of optocoupler is selected based on the requirement of the circuit. either we can use in DC or AC

    What is this Circuit Simulation software? I would like to use this optocoupler not as a on-off circuit. Can I use it to control the brightness of the output LED? I would like to use it in the active mode of the transistor. I want to make a Switch power supply using an ATTNIY85 as a controller and I want to read the output voltage of it using an optocoupler. In the emitter side I want to use a resistor divider connected to an analog pin. In the LED side a TL431 to regulate the current of the optocoupler.

    Salam M Haseed, interesting how dim can be the light, but i kind of miss your handwriting :)
    can you please tell why the main capacitor takes too much current to charge and sometimes doesn't even reach 280vdc ? (the series lamp stays on for a lonnnng time then stops and sometimes stays on for ever) i am afraid of putting it direct in the mains. thanks.

      @@HaseebElectronics Salam M Haseeb, i followed your advice and took the risk to plug it straight to the mains, and it worked perfectly. The series lamp made me unsolder the capacitor and mosfet for nothing, but i am learning. Thanks a lot !

    لماذا غابت أم يوسف عليه السلام عن قصته في القرآن
    ؟؟
    لماذا لم يأتي ذكر أم سيدنا يوسف في سياق أحداث السورة ولا مرة ،إلا في قوله:
    " ورفع أبويه على العرش " ؟؟!!
    وسجودها له في الرؤيا...
    وفي غير هذين الموضعين لا نجد لها أي ذكر ،
    مع أن المفروض حزنها أضعاف حزن يعقوب الذي أبيضت عيناه وفقد بصره من شدة الحزن ...
    الإجابة ببساطة أن أم سيدنا يوسف ماتت وهي تلد أخوه الصغير بنيامين، وبالتالي الأم التي رأها يوسف في الرؤيا هي زوجة أبيه التي ربته وأم أخوته الذين تآمروا عليه...
    لذلك طول الأحداث كان التركيز على يعقوب لأن مهما كانت زوجة الأب متعاطفة مع يوسف لكن قلبها يحنو أيضاً على أبناءها ولن يقارن حزنها بحزن يعقوب .
    هنا تجد الروعة والبلاغة والدقة القرآنية المدهشة..
    في قوله (ورفع أبويه على العرش)
    ولم يقل (ورفع والديه على العرش) ....
    لأن كلمة والديه ستعني أمه المباشرة من النسب،
    أما أبويه فتعني الأب والأم و لكن أمه التي ربته أو زوجة
    أبيه ،وليست بالضرورة أمه المباشرة ...كما أن إستخدام كلمة الأبوين تشير إلى الأب والأم مع تغليب جانب الأب...
    أما كلمة الوالدين فتشير إلى الأب والأم أيضاً لكن مع تغليب جانب الأم ، لأن الولادة صفة الأنثى...
    من هنا نفهم لماذا قال تعالى "وبالوالدين إحسانا "
    ولم يقل وبالأبوين إحسانا..
    لتزكية الأم على الأب في الرعاية والإحسان والبر ...
    ما أروع وأصدق بلاغة القرآن الكريم..

    Hello I watch a lot of your videos, but one thing I must say is you never fully explain the objective of your video. For example you are using an opto-coupler connected to a voltage reference IC, connected to a voltage divider - but never explain the purpose of those components in relation to your objective.
    One, could achieve the demonstration without voltage-divider and voltage reference IC - by connecting pin 1 to input signal and pin 2 to ground. Please can you explain the purpose of voltage-divider and voltage reference IC?

      you are right. if i try to explain a complete setup, so the video will toooo long. so i try to explain in parts.
      for voltage reference and voltage reference please check video number 229.
      its other main part is still remaining that is CTR. (how to configure optocoupler with adjustable reference regulator in smps circuit for proper feedback and how to select compensation type and how to match the error amplifier with CTR of optocoupler
      as i have to manage my office so it becomes very hard to record very long lectures and editing it. i love to explain in detail, so that's why my videos are long
