I so agree with you. I love to have these guys on the leafs and Riley would have a good partners right there in Theodore.
Building a contender around a soft mushy core will certainly deflate at the slightest touch.
If all of their goaltenders become very good then that indicates very good goaltending coaches on that team.

It's easy actually, they have 6 million right now, you move shea in a deal there is all the money, then you move one of Roy or barbashev and you have money to sign your 2 RFAs (dorofeyev, korizack) and maybe an extra depth guy
Imagine saying you don’t want Theodore when in reality you are losing Marner for nothing next summer. The ultimate FU to the fans and “insiders” who wanted him gone so bad. You got your wish.

I love this idea and the money works kinda easily if you look closely, shea, Thompson and barbashev out that's all the money you need for mitch and gives you extra money to sign your 2 key RFA's in dorofeyev and korizack. (Also gives you the option to sign dorofeyev to a tuch like contract)

Marner has to ask to be moved,he has a full NMC.Even if he grants the Buds permission to seek a trade,he can produce a ten team list he would be willing to accept a trade to.Everyone is assuming one of Marners teams would be Vegas.And you know what they say about assuming…..
Not to mention people have this INSANE idea that Marner's top concern is the well-being of the Leafs (seriously?!!) Why in the world would a league superstar player IN HIS PRIME lose the chance to go to free-agency where people are going to sell their souls to sign him to a stupidly over-valued contract?! There is NO scenario in which Marner realistically accepts a trade to ANY team, INLCUDING a team he'd like to play for ahead of free-agency.

No term on Shea or goalie. Unless the goalie was Hill then cap problem for Vegas. Would Toronto prefer RD Pietragelo with 3yrs term, Logan Thompson and a 1st. For Marner and Toronto eats the difference for the first. With 2 firsts Toronto could move up to top 5? Get a top D man prospect.
Marner should just tell people he is walking to UFA n not going to talk about it again.
