There is a LOT of love for David Bowie in the black community and at first glance you really wouldn’t think that would be the case, but he was on Soul Train several times, was a great guest for Arsenio, and he spoke up on behalf of black artists when MTV wouldn’t play their videos in the beginning, etc. This man is not only a legend, but a man of great integrity who deserves every bit of respect and recognition that he has today.

he was a true human being. . . and if you're one of those then all the other stuff about colour, background, status...it just doesn't matter, there is nothing to separate us. We should all aspire to be a bit more like him...the world will be a better place for everyone.

As a teenager, I bought his every album and collected pics and articles about him from the magazines and even joined his fan club as well as saw him live at the Chicago Amphitheater. My introduction to him was his Midnight Special appearance and I was hooked line and sinker. WHAT GREAT TASTE I HAVE, AND THANK YOU DAVID BOWIE FOR YOUR BODY OF WORK WHICH I AM STILL ENJOYING. I HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING GREAT MUSIC SOMEWHERE. 💐🏆👑

I come back to this regularly just to see how utterly in love he was when talking about Iman around the 8 minute mark. It's the sweetest thing.

I'm a Zeppelin man but Bowie was a true artist, has to be said.
Edit: I remember reading that song Jump was about his brother who checked out while at a psychiatric ward. I had a friend that had that in their DNA, all normal then they reach a certain age of maturity and start losing it and they can't help it. Really painful to watch no wonder Bowie was so fucked up early days.

This had to be early stages of DB sobriety, first of all he looks great. His tatoo is a reminder of his wife, who helped him get sober. He contributed to Arsenio's half way house. He mentioned the Twelve Steps, and that right there was the clue. I still miss him.

the 90’s were not all that. Especially if you look into politics and what went on behind the scenes in the industry. Jaguar Wright already told y’all.
