Crushing America's Oldest Hobby - Arrowhead Hunting

- This video finds us back with PineBeltRelics on one of their sites. Mike couldn’t make it but Zach, Randy and Spike had a fantastic day. No doubt as the title says, arrowhead hunting is probably the oldest favorite American hobby. People have been picking up arrowheads behind a mule and plow as long as they were mules in this country. It was a favorite hobby then and still is today and as the title also says we crushed it! What a day we had! Please come along and join us in America’s oldest favorite hobby.

Great finds today I can't believe what you guys did today. Is definitely one of your better days. Love the deep red and a couple of those.
Thanks. Days like this definitely don't happen every trip.
enjoyed watching, nice finds.
Thanks!
You guys are so much fun to watch!
Thanks. At the end of the day I don't know if its the digging or the shenanigans that has me worn out lol.
Love the videos guys Itawamba county MS hunter just got into it a couple years ago and I see you have the same addiction lol love it
Thanks! You're in a great spot for it.
Nice 👍
Thanks.
And another thing you guys were digging right by the Creek I would have thought they lived up higher from water
In this video we're digging up on the ridge out of the flood plain.
I liked video you. Good luck brothers
Thanks. We appreciate it.
@@HeartbreakerRelics oke i suport you
As Mike would say from PineBeltRelics, the Horseshoe strikes again!
Yes and often! Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Good video fellas. It's nice to see you back n action Spike. Always enjoy seeing those colorful Kool MS points. I'd been wondering where ol Kenneth was. Baseball will keep a kid busy. Just about every boy should play some type of ball in the their growing year's.
Best wishes my friend. Hope you have a great Sunday.
Thanks Mike. Kenneth is a pretty good ball player. He just got a scholarship to play JC ball here in Mississippi. We're proud of him. He should be back in a creek with us here soon. Thanks again and continued good luck to you up there in MO.
You guys are a hoot! Nice finds! Thanks for sharing!
It's our pleasure. Thank you for watching.
Do you think shifting dirt away from up rooted trees would be a good way to find points?
It 's a good way to find points that other diggers have left behind. Human nature is to take the path of least resistance. If a spot has been dug and hunted hard the last option is to dig around the trees. It's harder work but the odds are good.
@@HeartbreakerRelics ice storm took down the trees over the winter. It's near a field I find points in . I'll check it out
@@johnduncan9603 definitely!
Glad we got you off the skunk list Spike. Randy doesn’t know how close he came to getting hit over the head with a shovel for that bullseye cutie. Good luck to us all tomorrow!
Thanks Zach. lol you should have clobbered him. I wouldn't have said anything. In fact I might have helped you. JK, I need him to help me up and down those creek banks. Good luck to us all today!
how do you know where to look this amazing keep the great work
Thanks for watching and for the question. We dig test holes looking for debitage. When we find that then we dig more. We dig down until we are no longer finding material.
Do Ya'll know how to make a full Arrow with those tips? You need to do that, Thank You.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the suggestion.
Rocks Cousteau could tell you who could authenticate that with!
Thanks.
I call Randy's twister a Lowery Creek point. They are four sided and twisted and the base is a little "offset", that is , not quite in line.
Thanks Rob! We appreciate your input, as always! We still get it wrong a bunch but thanks to your help over the past couple of years we are getting a little better. Thanks again my friend!
That's awesome guys, good finds! Did you just randomly pick a spot to dig in the woods? Is that a good approach to dig anywhere in hopes to find stuff? I'm in Ohio too by the way, and would love to find stuff like this!
Thanks for the question. We first dig test holes looking for debitage then when we find it we dig harder. You have to know you're on a site before you go to digging seriously. Debitage tells you that.
@@HeartbreakerRelics Excellent, thank you, I appreciate the quick response and your video! Have a good weekend, man!
Spike glad to see your drought has ended and you found some some pretty nice points too I spotted some Fields that has been dished and put in rows just waiting on some rain it's been dry here so maybe I'll find some this year shortly nice video again congrats to everyone that found something
Thanks. I am so glad to finally get on the board. Good luck in your new fields.
@@HeartbreakerRelics thanks they're plant beans in them this year and they use a turning disc on the land so it turns it over a little I usually find a lot of small Morrow Mountain points there which is similar to you guys Gary's I think
I need someone to pick these things with me
When you guys gonna git back in the crik? I"m in NJ and been in the crik three times already:-)
Thanks for the question. We've been in the creek. The first creek video is scheduled for May 31st.
What a wonderful channel, especially for someone like me who has never found any relics but you best believe I can’t wait to try. One question for you if you don’t mind - what is the solution you are spraying on your treasures? Best wishes and best of luck from Pennsylvania!!
Thanks for watching and for the great comment. The solution we are using to spray on the points is water, DHMO is dihydrogen monoxide which is just water.
Thank you!!
My thought on Clovis is it is what they say but has nothing to do with pre existing sites that harvest them. That's where I get confused
You boys had quite a day . Nice bunch of artifacts. I enjoyed it. Thank you Spike, Randy & Zach.
It is our pleasure Tommy. Yes it was a pretty good day! Thanks!
great hunt guys 👍
Thanks.
Woo wee that one with the red spot in the middle is a BEAUTY. Great finds all around guys.
Thanks. Yep, that is a very special point indeed.
WOW, what a day! Thank You for sharing.
It is our pleasure. Thank you for coming along.
That one with the red vein....wow what a relic!!!! Another great hunt with a great bunch of guys. Keep it up!
Thanks Ralph. Yes that is a beautiful artifact for sure. Thanks again and good luck to yall!
OH MY GOODNESS! You ain't kidding. That point with the red spot! I bet your heart skipped a couple beats when you seen that because mine still is lol!
Yes, not only did it skip a beat but I thought I was going to pass out I got so excited.
I love the videos don't stop doing what you're doing I want to see some shovel Stoppers but be careful I've got some great pictures of points I found here in Florida and a few I need to get fixed maybe you guys can help me out
@@marktobey3067 Thanks we appreciate it. How can we help you?
@@HeartbreakerRelics thanks for the videos and doing what you do awesome quick question how can I get an estimate on a point that I have I really want to keep it I just want to know the worth? Who would I talk to and who do I find to fix a couple that I have that you might know? Someone that is well trusted. Maybe you can help thank you very much God bless you all.
@@marktobey3067 I don't know who to ask about value. Value is what someone will pay for it and that not only depends on the point but how bad someone wants it. As far as restoration. We hear that Gomer Pyles at Lithic Art Restoration in Florida is the people to go to. Zach had a couple restored and I have seen others they have done. We recommend them.
You all know how to find those beautiful pieces. Thanks for sharing another great episode. Take care.
Thanks. Every now and then we do get lucky and stumble on a great artifact. Thanks again and GL&HH.
Congratulations to all on your finds. Zach you were killing man! Long day, but lots of fun! ❤
Thanks. Zach can move dirt like an excavator. That's what it takes too. Thanks again.
CONGRATULATIONS MR.RANDY HOPE YOU FIND PLENTY MORE ARROWHEADS LIKE THAT SIR.🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Thanks Sharon!
U'RE VERY WELCOME SIR.🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
I believe in the missing link
What is the material of the point with the stain in the middle?
That is part of the material. I'm not sure but I'm guessing it is Mississippi Citronelle gravel chert.
U'RE VERY WELCOME MR.SPIKE. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FINDS AS WELL SIR.🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Thank you.
U'RE VERY WELCOME SIR.🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Cant tell me it was a little guy in a ship
Those points are superb...especially that red one...so beautiful, you guys are amazing to work so hard to show us such great content...I appreciate you guys🌸🦎🌺
Thanks and we appreciate you watching and always leaving a comment.
Nice video and enjoyed watching. The lithic material has some great colors and love how it is mottled together. Makes for some nice displays. Good luck to you guys!
Thanks John. It is rare to find that much variation in color in this material in one piece. Thanks again and GL&HH to you too.
Amazing color on the tricolor point! I really enjoy watching you guys have fun while looking for these artifacts. Great editing and creative camera shots too.
Thanks! We do have fun. After all, that's what it should be about. GL&HH up there in NC.
Another great video with epic finds! Thanks for the quality content fellas!
Thanks! It is our pleasure and thank you for watching.
Man you guys pulled some sweet points.. congrats Spike. MAYS A LITTLE LATe to be getting on the board son...GLHH guys .. cant ask for a better host...
Thanks! To be technical, this hunt was actually in April , late April lol, but you're right. It's still late to be getting on the board. Yep, Zach and Mike are great hosts!
Nice digging guys . Love those insitu shots . I'm headind out this morning to a car show , no rock huntin' today .
Thanks man! Have fun a the car show.
Wow Randy got a darn killer at 12:00 into the video! DHMO got a work out today! Lol ole Zach got a buckwheat shower! Spike you DHMOed Zach. Lmbo
Great show fellas. Love the editing .
I really liked seeing y’all shaking the screen. I hope before I die I can come hunt with you all one day.
I’ll definitely bring my Dutch Oven and we would eat some good chili around the fire afterward.
That sounds like a great idea Calvin. Zach has been known to squirt Mike every now and then with the DHMO. Since Mike couldn't be there I thought I would provide a little payback lol. Thanks for stopping by Calvin. We appreciate the kind words too.
Glad to see you get on the board..its probably the velcro shoes that's causing the trouble. Great day of digging with Zack.
Awesome artifacts brother congratulations
Keep em coming
Thanks Scott! You sound like my kids with the velcro shoes lol. It's gotten to the point where I can't hold my breath long enough to bend over a tie laces lol. Thanks again and GL&HH my friend.
I understand completely brother
Great finds, great fun, again. Like your vids, especially the music, so please reference it when you can. I look forward to the next one
Thanks Don. Almost all our music comes from the free music archives in the UA-cam library. That's why there is no reference, because there is no attribution required. I will try to reference it more in the future though. Thanks.
I was super happy for ya Spike when I first heard u were on the board!! Now I’m happy all over again!! U and Randy both had a great day!! Oh yeah, tell Randy I had already found that smoker with the red spot in it and dropped it and I’ll be needing that back!! Lol 😂!! Of course I hate I missed being there for this one but congrats buddy!! Fantastic work on the vid as always and the glamour shots as well!! We’ll see y’all soon!! 👍
Thanks Mike. We missed you buddy! I did squirt Zach in the face with the water bottle for you though! I'll tell Randy you'll be needing you point back lol. Thanks again my friend and good luck to yall!
Heartbreaker Relics Lol!! 👍👍👍
Love your videos...question, I’m color blind, but it seems like almost all of the points in your area are about the same color...is that the case, or is that just because I’m color blind? To me they look like an orange/red type color, but again, I’m color blind...just curious. Then again, cut grass looks orange to me, so probably not the case. Thanks fellas, and love the finds
Thanks for watching and for the great comment. Almost all of the material in this area with the exception of some Tallahatta quartzite is Mississippi Citronelle gravel chery and most of it is the same color. There can be great variations in it though, especially with the heat treated material.
As always, good job guys!
Thanks. We appreciate it.
Are these woodland sites?
No, they're multi-cultural sites. We have found Paleo transitional all the way to Mississippian artifacts on them.
@@HeartbreakerRelics thank you for such a quick response love your vids, quick question there's a field I hunt only spot I find stuff is below the only hill in the area its 100 yards from Creek to the top I know this had to be where they camped I'm going digging there right now no clue how old the site is all items have had such bad plow damage, how do I know how deep to go and when to move holes
The point with spot on it is awesome !
Thanks Jeff. We think so too. Those colors together are rare.
Thanks for another great video. I learn a lot just from watching. Looks like y’all are right on the edge of a high bank next to a creek. Is that right? And do y’all sift through the dirt as you fill the hole back in? If not, when do you sift? Thanks and God bless!
Thanks! Yes we are right on the bluff over the creek. Mike and Zach never sift. Randy and I sift depending on where we are digging. If the dirt will go through a sifter easily I would rather go that route. Mike and Zach seem to seldom miss anything. I don't have that kind of confidence in my ability to move a lot of dirt and check it thoroughly without missing something. Thanks again and good luck and happy hunting.
You fellas are a trip!! How do you determine what's a good spot? You guys dig deeper below Clovis culture?
Thanks for watching and for the question. We dig test holes looking for debitage. When we find that then we dig more. We dig down until we are no longer finding material. That's not to say that if we dug a few feet deeper we might find more material.
👻👻👻
Looks like that one Randy found still had some blood on it from its last kill 😂
I know. It is very rare to find this material with this much variations in color in the same point.
Awesome video again . Are y’all probing or just digging test holes ? How far from the water source are y’all ? Just out of the flood plain ?
Thanks Patrick. We're not probing here. Mike and Zach had dug some test holes a while back and found the site. At times we are digging only inches from the edge of the bluff that drops right off down into the creek. It is a nice flat piece of high ground just out of the flood plain, a text book example of a perfect camp site. Thanks again.
let me give you boys a tip if you can do some diging around faydet alabama i have seen more arrow heads in faydet than any place ever maybe somebody will let you dig on thear property if you just ask but im sure it was the biggest native american site on the planet i have never ever been to faydete out in the country and not found one or a piece of one just laying on the ground or the red clay dirt roads you can park your car and walk the dirt ditches and find them every were and pottery to this little town is crazy full of arrow heads and artifacts you could look up johny or jonny lasiter from faydete alabama he might let you do a dig on his place i worked on cars at his place and i would find them any time the dirt was moved or in the ditches by the driveway i know it is hard to beleave but all facts call jonny and tel him mike told you to call mike best woo woos old buddy he will most likely let you come look or do a dig
The BLM can have this one
