    I had no idea they were $28K!! I don't know much about the Nissan Leaf since I've never given it any attention, let alone done any study on it. That's helpful to know, thanks for posting video on it. The Nissan Leaf and other Nissan electric vehicles, unlike and other EVs, do not catch fire.... the only information I had.

    There're countless used Nissan Leafs for sale here in Britain, its the cheapest way to get into a full electric car.

    Great car if youre just looking for basic transport,dont have lots of money,live and work in a big city. However. This biggest thing about the Nissan Leaf and other Nissan EVs is they simply dont catch fire,unlike teslas,chevys,hyundais and some other EVs.

    Good luck finding a dealer who actually has one & who isn't doing "market adjustments" or "protection packages".

    I commute about 130miles each day for work. I would be pushing it if i got the base model with the small battery. I'm trying to find a affordable electric vehicle with enough range to go to work and also some side stops if i must do them. Right now i am spending around $800/ month on gas for my car. It i get a electric car it will cost me $0 to charge since i have solar at home.

    No battery temperature management and no heat pump makes leaf the cheapest choice among the competition. The cheapest one with those features are at least $12k more.

      @@PrimeAutotainment I know it’s your channel and you probably are already familiar with what is working for a few other Tubers. Bringing their wives and babies/children to a few videos getting their takes on the vehicle or read a few of the specs. Now, I know it’s not for everyone. But I see what is taking place on the other channels and they were in a growth rut. But now they are screaming a lot faster with subscriptions and comments with the family inclusion. I would guess many viewers like myself who do not watch any TV look forward to familiar faces on UA-cam like extended family.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 2 роки тому +2

      @@gene978 sounds like Evie and Micah. That probably appeals to young couples. I like seeing only 1 person and don’t like when they bring in extended family it starts feeling gimmicky, but that’s just me. I’m a young single guy. But like you say it’s worth trying if a guy feels like he is struggling to gain subscribers. I feel like if I was doing a channel I wouldn’t be so focused on growth. Whatever happened happened. Especially you have a traditional 9-5 and like that. Some spouses are reluctant to be on their spouses channel too. But to each his own. And like you I see it generating energy on those channels to bring in a spouse when a channel grows stagnant. I think a major issue nowadays is everyone and their brother wants to quit their job and create a new tech or car review channel. I can’t keep up. It’s like real estate now. All of these mediums are super saturated. There is room for everyone but I think that makes the share of the pie smaller and smaller. I’m sticking with Nolan and 2-3 other auto review channels.

    Why does Nissan still use chademo ? They don't pay attention to the comments section? I had a 2017 Leaf. Loved the original bodystyle.
    The 2023 coming is an improvement, but the chademo has to go !

    I've looked at several used Leafs. They seem to have really bad battery degradation. Some of the ones I looked at had a range of less than 100 miles.

      They do because they don't have good battery cooling management in fact they don't really have any active cooling for it. as a result the battery begins to heat up and kill the battery.

    I'd like to know it's range at a maintained 70 mph?

    • @samal3196
      @samal3196 2 роки тому

      2016 leaf with a 30kwh battery you'd probably be looking at 70-80 mph from my experience driving one. Much more if you drop down to 60. So adjusting Regarding battery degradation, they're warrantied for 8 years and so far have notice no degredation at 6 years so wouldn't listen to the other guy. So adjusting proportionally, the 39kwh model you'd expect ~100 miles out of it and the 59 kwh model you'd be expecting 160 or so. Of course, this is at constant 70 mph so real world journey range would be much longer.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  2 роки тому +1

      In the week I drive it..my commute is around 25 miles and typically 55-70 mph mostly highway….in that 25 mile span I would usually use around 35 miles if range; however, on a 30 mile trip going 75-80 with a strong cross wind..it used a whopping 85 miles of range lol

    Rare as hen's teeth, and dealers are NOT even taking orders for new cars. The allocations are miniscule, and even used ones (when available) are going for a premium. Yes, you can buy a 24kwh unit, but who wants a car that gives up in less than 80 miles?

  • @victorlui697

    I'd be happy to consider this, but not when dealerships are charging thousands over MSRP... they're taking the tax credit from us and giving the Nissan company name a black eye...

    To be accurate, in 2021 there was usually a $7.5K factory incentive available and since no trim dropped by that much, the 2022 prices are a net increase. There was an exception in Sep 2021 when a $3K incentive was offered on the new '22s, but that dripped to $1K in Oct and then disappeared, finally to give way to MSRP+ prices. I lucked out and bought in Sept '21 (with an additional $800 dealer discount) but personally would not pay an MSRP+ price now for an EV with CHAdeMO DCFC and no battery thermal management.
