I saw a website rank every Metallica song from worst to best and they put this as the very worst song. I have no words to describe how insane that is.
Those articles are mostly just clickbait nonsense. Back in 1997 it seemed like a cliche to release a sequel and people would have just made their minds up based upon that alone. Idiocy. Great song.
I got into Metallica about 2000 and I remember hearing this song with no prejudice thinking it was amazing.
There are some Metallica songs which I have not listened to, the second time. This is one of my favorites. I would rather club a list of songs, without any order. I would never be able to rate within the Black album itself :).

It was 1999, I was 9 and had my first computer. The internet was so limited and expensive back those days in my country. Somehow this video was in my computer. I did not understand any words but I felt the music, harmony, motion. Whenever I watch this video I remember those times. now, Im 30 still listening Metallica :)

It may not be what people think Metallica is but it's still badass and beautiful. I am so glad that we got Reload. Fuel, The Memory Remains, Unforgiven 2, etc are all such great songs.

I actually like Load and Re-Load, and this is coming from a Thrash Metal fanboy. They're good albums, although it's up for debate whether they work as Metallica albums. One of the things I love about Metallica is that each of their albums are distinct from each other IMO, and I don't think too many bands are able to do that.
this era had extremely deep and thought provoking lyrical themes...probably the best ever written by the band..just give the lyrics for this song a read...load and reload were excellent records.. the only reason they're hated is because of the change in style

I know I'm gonna get hate in this from "true Metallica fans" but my favorite albums are load and reload. People give them shut for cutting their hair off and giving their songs a different song but in all honesty, isn't an evolving sound part of being in a band? I love the sound of those 2 albums.

Don't get me wrong his voice is and always will be amazing but, this song proves how versatile they truly are. I would have to say this is my personal favorite of the trilogy to be honest. When I discovered this sonf I tried to tell my brother and explain the whole trilogy. He listened to like the first 20 seconds and said "no, just no its not the original".... pissed me off he didnt give it a chance because it wasn't "the original" so he assumed it was just bad

i know that The Unforgiven is a classic masterpiece, but I prefer 10x The Unforgiven II.
The imagery in this song is beyond anything...i can relate with the frustrations and despair of being stuck behind a door ...however, the door transforms into some person at the end...i wonder what that's supposed to entail to the door imagery as a whole.
