Jewels of India: Tamilnadu Edition: A fantastic wedding necklace unlike anything you've ever seen

The Kalathooru is a type of South Indian wedding necklace, specific to the Chettinad region. In this film, a jeweller explains the various casts that are used to make the different parts of the necklace.

In India, karigars or acharis (goldsmiths) often work with their intuition, imagination and knowledge to craft amazing pieces of jewellery for pretty much every occasion or every part of the body. Jewels of India is a humble attempt to give these craftspeople some recognition.
