I'm a lifelong Evertonian, and he stabilised us, and got us from relegation into Europe. We were there and thereabouts, but breaking into the top 4 is hard work. My best m8 is a Hammer and I said to him, you'll be a better club and in a better place with David, really happy you gave him that send off.

I’m an Arsenal supporter but from the days of Bobby Moore, I’ve always respected West Ham, a classy club, and I just wanted to pay tribute to David Moyes. What great job he’s done over the years, mentored our manager in his early days, won a European trophy against the odds and has remained a real gent who has outwitted us too at times and I wish him a very happy future. Respect to him ! Surprisingly, I also got a good feeling about George Earthy as he came on yesterday before he scored his goal. Just have a hunch he’s going to be a great player, so good luck to him too. Would love it if you guys could stop City in Moyes’s last game and help bring the league title back to London. That would be a perfect season.

@@512Squared You are right we have been terrible defensively but the idea that Moyes can / would just fix it is optimistic. If that were the case he would have made some progress already. It’s not like we haven’t brought in defensive reinforcements (Aguerd, Mavrapanos, Emerson etc). Also our attack being functional isn’t a guarantee next year. Moyes still relies on Antonio. He hasn’t been able to get the best out of Haller, Scamacca and now Ings. If Moyes stayed we likely be playing with a 40 year old Antonio up top!

It’s strange. We were gutted we lost our best ever PL player end of last season. But some of our fans are pleased we lost our best ever PL manager. Personall, I’m going to miss Moyes greatly. He has given me the best West Ham memories. Yes the football has been poor at times. But hasn’t it always. We have had more amazing days than we have ever had before under his reign.

I didn't like the bullying he experienced during the last 12-13 months. He won them a European cup. And before anyone says it's only the Conference League, Leicester and Aston Villa could not do it.

I disagree. He built up this squad, slowly improving the attack. The next job will be the defence, which has been brittle as hell this year.
