Having both of these majestic "beings" taken away from you would be the most heart wrenching situation in a person's life. I dread thinking about how I'm going to go through this phase of life when my dobie's turn arrives a few years from now.
why not breed Dobermans with german shepherds or akitas or malamutes or other such breeds in order to produce naturally erect ears rather than this ridiculous process of taping. I mean they look like they have two candlesticks on their heads, hardly the image for a tough guard dog
Are you out of your fucking mind... you want to cross breed a European Doberman with a bunch of other dogs to turn it into some ridiculous backyard mutt... cropping a dog's ears has been done for decade and they do use anesthesia so it's not a very big deal so please stop crying about shit you don't know nothing about.
@@armandsmith1027 Well right across the UK and Europe Australia etc both the practice of taping and tail docking has been banned. It is thought subjecting dogs to cosmetic procedures for their owners vanity is unacceptable in modern advanced societies. The Dobermans now have floppy ears and long tails. They no longer have the imposing image of the cropped docked dogs. I was merely theorising that we could bring back these traits through natural crosses. After all the European Doberman was itself a recent production of extensive crossing so it is not that mad a concept.

Beautiful Dobermans!!! I miss seeing my male & female playing like that. My female passed 2 years ago and my male past 1 week before xmas this year!!!

I have a 8 year old red boy, and a nearly 3 year old Black and Tan female who is a fruit loop.

Those are tapes used keep the dobermans ears up and erect, they usually have a stick of some kind to hold the ears up along with the tape.
