The updated P790 is joined by it's little brother, the P770 - smaller, slimmer but is it better? And what about the smallest and slimmest of the lot - the P7MC, how does it fair going up against it's more powerful brethren. Find out here, with the most straightforward simple review you'll find on the internet - Golf No Guff.

Thanks and a good decision., although TaylorMade won't be as happy you're not spending money! I'm sure you'll find an excuse to buy something else! SIM 2 driver? Should have a review out fairly soon on the new wood range. Thanks again for watching.

The feel really depends on the ball. I just picked up my p770’s. I was hitting the Taylormade ball in the hitting bay. And really wasn’t to happy with the feel. I then switched to the prov1x. What I play in the course. And what a huge difference. Fell in love with these club. So if you try these clubs make sure your testing them with the prov 1 or the x.

Yes, very true, I haven't used them with the ProV1 or X actually. I use the Wilson Staff Model ball which is pretty soft feeling, but you're right the ball can make a big difference to the perceived feel of the club.

There is a 3.5 degree difference in loft between the 790 and mc. That’s quite misleading.

How did you manage to get a spin rate of 4500 out of the p770? I’m 11 handicap and in getting over 6000.

It’s most likely you’ll have a steeper angle of attack I would guess. I think I’ve grown up trying to keep the ball low because of the wind we get up here in Scotland, I seem to create enough spin when I’m out playing because my D7 Forgeds do stop.

@@golffm6924 true. I’m just not sure why I would want a club that goes for miles. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a 7 iron or a 5 iron that goes 180. What I want is something with good spin levels. I can always drop the height and spin if I want. I was also surprised you didn’t talk about softness. I’ve tried p790 and p770 and I found p770 was much softer. I enjoyed your review and really interesting that what you want for a links is different from what I would want on a course with water everywhere 😂👌🏌🏼‍♂️

@@nickhaslam3253 Yes I probably wasn't nice enough about the 770s in the review, I do think they are a lovely looking club, but I personally didn't notice any real difference in feel between that and the 790 both feel nice to me. The main reason I think the ditance is key is that I think it dies matter hitting a 7 iron instead of a 5 iron, principally due to shaft length. The shorter a shaft is the more likely we are to hit it out of the middle and accuracy dispersion is better generally the shorter length the club is. But dont get me wrong I think the P770 is an amazing golf club and anyone that can their hands on a set at the moment is very lucky indeed.

@@golffm6924 I’ve heard they are hard to get. Happy with my Mizuno JPX 919 forged at the moment. Would love to play up at your course. I’ve heard great things about it.

Just continued watching the vid. You were getting just under 6000 spin. If you play links all the time p790 would work well but I would prefer higher spin than that
