(2) also not showing your card to your own team tells the other team that you don't have a role.

It’s both a guessing game cause you don’t know who each other are unless you show them you card and a strategy game cause you need to tell the right people so the bomber doesn’t end up in the same room as the president or both in different rooms.
Spoiler: Damn Blue team had it in the bag (making the red team believe that Jess was the president). But they confused themselves and thought that the bomber was in Geo's room.

So for those who are confused, based off from this game, the point of the game is to have the bomber to be in the same location as the president, this is the objective of the red team. The blue team, with the president, is suppose to prevent the president from being in the same location with the bomber. The game begins with both teams choosing a leader to send the hostages to each side. Communication happens and roles are revealed and the leader decides who to send out. Two people are first sent and the last two remaining rounds are only one. Each team communicates about where the bomber and president is. This round can allow for each team to overrule the current leader to a new one since the hostages that were transferred has new information. Therefore, a new leader can be chosen and sends another player to the opposing side. The third and final round is completed and the red team wins if the bomber is in the same location as the president. The blue team wins if the bomber is not in the same location as the president. According to the engineer and doctor, I am unsure of how it’s played.

If the doctor and president never meet then the president dies regardless of being away from the bomb. If the engineer and bomber don't meet, then the bomb will never go off. Basically you need "the showing each other cards first," done no matter what. It was all explained in the objectives in the video. One could easily understand what objective needed to be done first before moving on. Towards the end of the video they even explained what would happen if they didn't show the cards...

darwin They are just added special roles. To my understanding it's like the added roles of Miller, Godfather, etc in mafia. Just roles you can add to spice up the game. They do add another challenge to the red and the blue team as they lose if the engineer and bomber for red team or doctor and president for blue team don't meet up at some point.

For anyone that doesn’t understand how the game works. The players can show either their card color or their card role. The Doctor must show their card to the President, and the Engineer to the Bomber. Let’s say the Engineer doesn’t show their card to the Bomber but the Doctor shows their card to the Pres, then Blue wins even if Pres and Bomb are in the same room.
