Nothing like an XR250R, best trail bike ever made in my opinion. Of course I'm biased since I've had mine for 18 years! It never ceases to impress me, no matter how nasty the terrain is or how steep the hills are, it's like a mountain goat!
T-ROY BOI A LOT! Lol you’ll break yourself before it’s needed. But, I do suggest a rebuild if bought second hand and you don’t know the person’s machine upkeep.
87 XR250 owner here, I've had my bike since around 1991. These bikes are unstoppable, and indestructible. It's amazing how little maintenance they need, but just keep going! I don't ride it much anymore, but it's still nice to know she'll start when she's asked to.
Very nice video and great music! Love the XR's, especially the 250. I have a '99 XR250R that I bought new and still ride to this day. I don't think I could ever sell it because there would probably be no chance of ever finding another one in good shape. The bike is like a mountain goat in the mountains, and climbs anything with ease. Mod it with a good silencer, jetting and uncorked airbox, and these bikes have great snappy power off the bottom and midrange.
Have run xr250s for30 plus years. I can't put in words how good these bikes are. Reliable, ridable and inexpensive to own. They are as close to an idiot proof bike as there is. Not suggesting idiots should ride them, but from novice to well-worn riders these are just great bikes.
Thanks for that Bro, Greetings from NZ. I Ride a 2006 xr250 sm, chucked some dirtstar rims and some dunlop 605's on her and she blasts up mountain trails no worries. great light weight and tough as tank shit. go anywhere all fun, happy days.
XR250R are the bomb and the Emig triple clamp and inverted forks and big note kit to 290cc and you have your self a bomb proof XR that will pretty much last 4 ever. LONG LIVE THE XR!!!!
XR 250amd 400s are Probably the finest off road bikes ever made. Not the fastest or the best handling but high quality tough as nails trail bikes that will take you wherever you wanna go and bring you back home year after year they are reliable pretty fast torquey and just a good ol bike that you can beat the hell out of and they last for years and years.
Thanks for the video man i've been looking for a good video of how this bike performs under tough conditions so far from what I've read and looked at the video here just comes to show these bikes are very reliable and and tough cant wait to get my hands xr 400
I've ridden brand new ktms and I love my kdx but this is still my all time favorite bikes I had mine for 10 years so many memories. I love the vid so much excellent job
XR 250rs are great bikes ( and you are a good rider also) I raced an 83 back in the 80 s in ECEA rock runs ( B rider at the time) and usually either won my class or came in 2 nd, Also raced in certain snotty D6 hare scrambles and did well there also ( amateur class before turning expert) I regret to this day selling that bike. Although not competitive in most situations against the 2 strokes back in the day , they never broke, great bike.
No more videos unfortunately. Then I was riding at least once a week. Now I would be happy with 3 times a year! Life happens. Also now I ride a beta which implies that any trick I might do is considered normal because it's on a beta! Everyone expects good from a beta rider. Lost the entertainment factor of the xr
+Hills Nest - I Know what your Saying- Life Sometimes Doesn't Leave much room for Hobbies ect- Especially once you have a Wife & Kids ect- You've gone from one end of the Spectrum to the Other!-Changing from a Honda Xr250 to a Beta RR 2t or 4t ?? For a Guy that Hasn't had Too Many Years Experience(back then) you've Shown to have Good Natural Ability - Doing Things on the Old Xr Guys of Much more Experience Wouldn't or Couldn't Do- Like the Log Hop- I can Wheelie the Front over But Not Confident Bouncing the Back Wheel over at Speed- I Think It would End Bad - Like Compressing the Back Shock With Rebound Pile Driving me on My Head! Well that Is what happened Last Time I hit a Log a Bit Too Fast- @ 40 -Now Age has Caught Up -I Can't take the Hits Like I Used To - Anyway Best Wishes for 2019 & Hopefully You'll Get Some More Riding Time on your Beta!😉 -Cheers👍🍺🍻
@@purebloodheretic4682 Thanks mate. Yeah a beta 450rr 4 stroke. It's almost everything the xr is not! Best machine I have ever ridden but will come a day when I will want my cash rather then a fancy suspension and exesive torque! But for now bit more fun. Only way to do those techniques is to fall many times trying till we get it. The learning process. When you stop falling, you've stopped learning. Moved on to applying that attitude to other more important things! Being like Graham Jarvis is cool, but for me personally that aim was not worth the number of times I would need to get back up again. A family and passion filled career are far more worth the falls and the energy to get back up from. So have become content cruising! All the best mate, cheers
The best p art was the crashing. Not because of the crash but because the honesty of yep it is risky business and it's not if you crash its when you crash.
+Hills Nest For people who don't know, a postie is a Honda CT90. they were really popular here in the USA years ago and are quite collectible today. Apparently the aussie postal services used them for deliveries for years. btw-AWESOME to see what you can do on an XR200! I'm used to bigger CR's but a friend introduced me to how fun they can be. I found a '99 in great condition to play around on. More videos please :)
Tony Harrell i have a ct90 k5 that was my great grandfathers, my great uncle says all he remembers about getting it was him and his dad(my great grandfather) were going to a buisness partners house or sum shit and they had a couple new ones, and he said take a ride, if you gotta a farm you gotta have a trail 90, on the way home he bought one from honda in 74 and i have it in my garage now, with his signature on the warranty/bill of sale but no title sadly,
I wish that I had your log crossing ability . You would probably really like the pirelli mt43 hybrid trials rear tire,or motoz mountain hybrid . They suit your style.
+Tim Hall Thats exactly what I though! I wanted the motoz, so I went to the shop and the dealer that sells tires, went on and on about how all the nobs will come flying off and what a bad decision that would be... And then he gave me a ridiculously high quote... Hmmm he just hijacked his own sale! But anyways, yes those tires do help with this slow riding/stunty style.
I have one not far from home, '99 250. Gotta say price on old bikes are crazy, the guy wants €1600 for it. Kinda tempted to go and check it out, but on the road I ride 1000cc... kinda worried the 250cc would be too small. I also owned a few 2strokes 300cc... so the 250 4 strokes might really be too small. Worth the risk?
That was pretty good. Your failures are a lot better than my success. Wish I had a place close to home like this. Vegas is either too hot or too cold during most of the year. By the way, it is also an unwritten rule in my garage to work only barefoot and/or shirtless. Keep it up bud.
+ali arauz Not sure what type of bike you have but if there's a clicker on your rear shock, choose a soft setting. This will reduce the "throw over handle bar effect"!! Then once you feel comfortable, harden it up again. Also don't try the biggest log in the backyard first up! Happy to help man
+Jackson Stewart This bike is fully stock so the video will be very short!! However the next video will have an introduction showing the bike completely deconstruct after some deep mechanical issues came about
Video is filmed along many trails mate. Didn't ride it all in one ride! Performance bikes like crf, yzf, will always be better then xrs in performance, however overall performance is much more about how skilled you are as a rider rather then how good is the bike

thank you for showing the xr's great potential
Que de bons souvenirs avec ma Honda XR250R , ma jeunesse , merci pour ce moment de nostalgie.
just bought an old one from 1982 and look forward to my roadtrips 😊
My first real dirt bike was an 89 xr250r just like yours. Great confidence inspiring bike. Most fun bike I've owned.. cheer's!!
XR250R are the bomb and the Emig triple clamp and inverted forks and big note kit to 290cc and you have your self a bomb proof XR that will pretty much last 4 ever. LONG LIVE THE XR!!!!

Such a cool video. Shows how capable the XR is and also how much fun.

Lovely video! A low powered dirtbike with decent suspension is so much fun!
this looks like a professionally made video. great camera angle and stunts. nice video man. loved it.

I'm building my 83 xl600r to handle this stuff. She is heavy for sure, but that's the part of the fun!

Another great video!
Beautiful ❤️
i liked @ 3:43, dragging the vine...haha.
that put a smile on my face too. we've all been there haha.
Excellent video
Nice rideing!
Buen video bro, se nota que tienes arta experiencia y conoces bien tu moto, saludos
You are damn talented for doing that things on a xr!! Did you have previous trial experience?
Enduro Depravation Nah mate, learnt on a postie and and xr200 as you'll see in other vids
Enduro Depravation Nope, ive only been riding for 2 years atm

Nice video really liked it, where is this? looks great!
Hey xr fans, i have a 96 xr250r. Only 1 of the pipes coming out of the head glows red???? Not from idleing too much. Only one? Any ideas? Thanks

What kind is this song? Very good vídeo
Very interesting.. what Riders height?
That bike will go forever if you treat it good
Cool video !
Awesome vid! what gear do u do your wheelies in?I have a 2001 xr250r and I cant never get a good gear for them.keep up the good work!

Nice beat, good video, all I could think of is that screwdriver slipping into your foot!
Hello, great video, I need help on how to repair the monoshock, I have a problem, jumping logs catapult me forward. I appreciate your help.

Hey hills nest ,come back to UA-cam.
great motorcycle . this bike is good for 5.6 height?
Same question.
Fuck*** great! What year's model?
amazing
Your a good rider, have you ever looked into endurocross.
Zach a Definitely, that's what I've been doing since i started riding
Good and thanks
Cool Vid
Awesome video dude!
You should upload some tutorials of getting up tree's, I'll really love to do that on my 1992 Xr250r
+Isabel Margarita Silva Haha, climb trees! I assume you mean getting over logs. I have considered doing tutorials, and may do so in the future.
"Learner" sign. That`s funny
How long is the trail and did you really ride all that way this seem like a great bike is it just as good as other 250s like yzf crf?
Video is filmed along many trails mate. Didn't ride it all in one ride! Performance bikes like crf, yzf, will always be better then xrs in performance, however overall performance is much more about how skilled you are as a rider rather then how good is the bike
get yourself a 15 gallon steel barrel half filled with sand...makes a perfect stand for tire changes. No need to bend down to the garage floor.
XRs RULE!!!
