Who else thought the ending was accurate? Because The mother's life partner died, Max. & when she died she found her true love again, as Robin was Ted's all along. Although The mother & Ted made a better couple it was not as complete as the life she had with Max. So in my opinion it was fitting, the ending was perfect.
