I bought this bike in the UK a couple of months back and its a solid bike! I am 50 this year (yikes!) and do three eleven mile rides a week just for some general fitness and it's been brilliant. The seven gears are enough for me and they are perfect for a pretty hilly ride! I recommend this bike!
I just realized this was your channel!! I have been to this shop and the staff as well as the owner are so knowledgeable and so friendly....I'm proud to be a subscriber and I'm excited to get my bike back from you guys.
Thank you so much for the review! It went over everything I needed to know. I was looking everywhere for a "regular bike" for my commute and coffee shop visits. My Dad owned a Marin for the same purposes and he loved it. Forgot about the brand because it's not at too many shops, but I ordered this model online from City Grounds Urban Cycling Shop
Just bought my Marin Kentfield 1 a week ago, just waiting for it to be shipped to me! There aren’t too many reviews for this bike which is crazy that there aren’t more. Can’t wait to get mine and hit the trails!
I've been using my CX bike for commuting and it's not comfortable. I'm looking very seriously at this Marin because a because a bike shop in my city has in on sale right now. They have the step through version which is fine for me as it adds more convenience. Thanks for this review. Kitting this bike out with fenders, kick stand and maybe even a chain guard will make it a great city bike. Almost like a Dutch bike.
Hey Tom, sorry to hear that your too far away, but I thought I would share another resource with you. You can check out Marin Bikes at govvelo.com/collections/marin-bikes These bikes are also shipped from the shop in Biloxi, MS.
So I tried both and ended up retuning the Kentfield 1 and getting the Fairfax 1 instead. I preferred the more upright position of the Kentfield but I was riding on the largest sprocket all the time. The Fairfax's arrangement of gears is much more versatile imo. I don't regret switching.
Hey Don, Inventory changes so fast it's hard for me to keep up, as I'm not at the bike shop every day. You can always give Biloxi Bike Works a call at (228) 400-0280 Another good resource for Marin Bikes is govvelo.com/collections/marin-bikes These bikes also shipped from the shop in Biloxi, MS.

Marin seems to be offering some great affordable options. I wish your store was closer to me.
Yeah I have two Marins and they are awesome even without considering the price.

I am about to recieve this Kentfield one model soon, I look forward to it. Nice review Bart.
Enjoy it !
I got one of these today at the Biloxi Bike place. Nice 👍🏿 I love it
Do you recommed ‘23 Marin Kentfield 1 or a ‘22 Specialized Sirrus X 2.0? Looking to buy first “good” bike and found these two options.
Kentfield 1 vs the Fairfax 1: would the Fairfax be noticeably faster / require less effort to ride at a good pace? Thanks!

It can be used as a hybrid bike for 70 km trips on gravel terrain ?
How's the 7 speed gear range? I know most comparable bikes have 21-27 gear range, but that just seems like overkill
Do you think a larger chainring can be added to the front for more speed?
Beautiful bike
It sure is!
Is this bike good for someone 6'2" 370lbs?
Saludos!! Speak around of bike DSX1 please!!!
Nicely done review.
I’m 6”4, will I be too tall for this bike?
Can I do some part upgrades and make this a gravel bike? Can this bike take a beating?
Hey Bart, does this bike have quick release wheel option?
Yes, this bike has quick release skewers that make it easy to remove the wheels.
@@TheBicycleRider thanks a lot for replying ♥️
