    Truly informative! I needed a reference that highlighted basic wood frame construction methods & techniques where ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU were best. I am pleased with the depth and clarity of Ryan’s Shed Plans. It was really convenient to capture!

    I like the final result, but I'm struggling to see why pallets were the way to go. With amount of money spent on the cladding and boarding out ,wouldn't it have been quicker to just frame it ?

    Hi mate, I'm in the process of building something similar but I'm a bit sceptical, as I'm thinking of building it on top of decking! Do you think that will work? Did you screw your first level of pallets to the base or use brackets? Thanks

    • @davidstout4826
      @davidstout4826  4 роки тому

      I made battons that sat inside the pallet then screwed to the base and the walls. I'm notbure about putting it on decking but if it's solid enough I can't see a problem. Even if you use the decking as the floor which I assume you are.

      No I used them while, they were mostly the same size but I had to cut a couple up. The actual thickness it the main thing I think. I had to chop em up a bit around the door to the right but that was it really. I used different sizes for different things tbh mate.

    Hi I totally love your shed! Amazing craftsmanship, looks solid as... I'm thinking of doing something similar just a bit bigger 5.5m x 3.5m. How did you stop the walls bowing out in the middle where the pallets join? I am concerned the walls will kind of 'bulge' if not strengthened. Cheers

      Hi Ross, thanks mate, well I just bottomed them together with screws and 3x2. Bowing never happened once even when I was building it. As soon as the roof joists were on they were really solid. It doesn't creek or anything which I was expecting if I'm honest. It really is very solid.

    Can someone confirm ime building a pallet shed
    The question is it can only be two and half metres in height near my border in the UK
    What I was thinking
    When you are building with pallets does the two and half metres start from the top off the floor pallet or at the bottom of the floor pallet
    Can someone please confirm this

    • @davidstout4826
      @davidstout4826  3 роки тому +1

      You need to check with your council mate, in some areas you have to build so far away from the neighbours fence and have a height restriction which is usually from the ground up. From memory mine had to be 2.2 meters high but with no restrictions on haw far from the fence.

      Yeah there's 240 power via an outside socket kit from B&Q, I just bought more armoured cable and ran its straight in via another socket inside which leads to another. I have led lights going off it. Ded easy and it's only tripped once but that was my fault.

      I didn't mate no, tbh even when it's freezing I don't ge cold feet I put some rubber backed carpet tiles down I got off a site and it's fine. I do need to insulate the ceiling though. When I put my radiator on though it soon warms up and stays warm, 10 minutes in and I'm in a t'shirt

      @@magpie_up_a_mountain hi mate I only used 2"x4" and with 3. 5 meter between the front and back wall it was a bit of a risk but the roof hasn't had any movement In three years, I suppose the osb boards have given it a lot of strength.

      Hi mate, for everything including lights and electrics about £1600. All the stuff I used, cladding roofing etc was top quality, that corrugated bitumen should last 30 years, and the cladding is talanised so you could cut corners and make it cheaper.

    do you have any advice for doing this project?

    • @davidstout4826
      @davidstout4826  7 років тому +3

      Clayton Demoran, if you're thinking of doing one just go for it. Do a plan and get your sizes right as far as local building regulations go so you're within the limits. Also make sure you can afford the size you want. I didn't take the size of the roof and the amount of materials it would need to cover it so spent quite a bit on it. I used onduline corrugated sheets that will last 25 plus years so it is worth it in the end and far more durable than roofing felt. Also look put for bargains even before you need things like insulation, that was on offer well before I needed it but hot it because it saved about 30%. Good luck.
