I don't blame Henry,WW2 did leave a scar on the world and it would be normal for him to have nightmares about it considering what he was going through on those times.
“Once an engine attached to a train, heard the whir of an oncoming plane. With a squeak through its funnel, it dashed into a tunnel, and refused to come out again.”
I always thought there was a backstory to the Henry’s tunnel story. I used to think that Henry was hiding in the tunnel because of the a raid, and once is stopped he was too scared to come out.
PTSD is the only way to write a “scared Henry” story Or just put him in a generally scary situation (Haunted Henry, Toby’s Grand Adventure, Percy and the Gnomes anyone?) sidenote: who else agrees that Three Steam Engines Gruff should’ve been about Edward, Gordon and Henry instead of Thomas, Percy and Toby?
The only thing about Henry having a nightmare is when he was getting ready to be scrapped back when he was in his old shape, since Sir Topham Hatt said he was too expensive to fix and keep him on Sodor
"Once an engine attached to a train, heard the whir of the Nazi Planes. Witha squeak of his funnel, he hid in the tunnel, and waited until it was safe again." Victor Tanzig did this for the true story of Henry hiding in the tunnel with Wilbert using it as inspiration for his stories. This also happens in my AU as I want to pave the NWR and Sodor in a 100% accurate reality.

@@rongoringo Henry has recently returned from Crewe. One morning, Gordon is jealous that Henry now gets to pull the Express, remarking that he did not need a new shape and complaining that Henry left the others all of his work as well as their own. He also claims that Henry whistles too loudly at stations, saying, "It isn't wrong, but we just don't do it." Henry is upset by this remark, but Percy says that he is glad that Henry is back and likes his whistling. Later, when Henry arrives at Wellsworth, Edward tells him that he was glad to hear his whistle the day before, cheering Henry up. Suddenly, to the engines' confusion, the sound of a high-pitched, droning whistle can be heard in the distance. It turns out to be Gordon, whose whistle is jammed. He flies down the hill and vanishes through the station. Edward is surprised, while Henry tells him what Gordon had said about whistling. Gordon speeds down the line, the awful noise from his whistle continuing even when he reaches the Big Station. This makes everyone, including the Fat Controller, hold their ears and Gordon leaves the Express behind. He is then taken to a siding and some fitters hammer his whistle valve back into place, which finally stops the noise. That night, Gordon finds the Sheds empty, to his relief. As the other engines arrive at the Sheds, Henry softly says to no one in particular, "it isn't wrong but we just don't do it," and says nothing about whistles. The next morning, Henry, feeling better than ever, takes a passenger train and soon approaches a bridge where some boys are waiting. Henry whistles in greeting but suddenly feels pain as the boys do not answer but instead throw stones on him and his train, breaking some of the coaches' windows. While unhurt, the passengers are furious. They want to call the police but are interrupted by Henry's driver who has a plan to get their own back. After getting everyone to promise to keep the plan a secret, the driver tells them. The plan is to have Henry sneeze, releasing the ashes that are built up in his smoke box. The passengers are excited and on the way back from the other end of the line, the driver makes sure everyone is ready and warns them to keep their windows shut until the train has passed the bridge because Henry is about to sneeze. Although the driver says that Henry is just as excited, Henry feels too stuffed up to answer. Soon Henry approaches the bridge, where the boys are waiting with more stones. Judging the moment, the driver has Henry sneeze at exactly the right time, covering the boys from head to toe in soot. Henry goes home satisfied; he knows that thanks to a whistle and a sneeze, he has taught both Gordon and the boys a lesson they will not soon forget.
During the early years of WW2 Nazi Germany lead a bombing campaign over Britain to make way for an eventual naval invasion of the Island. The Nazis targeted air fields, factories, and rail infrastructure but eventually resorted to carelessly bombing whatever they could see. This event is known as the Battle of Britain, where all the fighting took place in the sky. The video shows Henry's experience during that time.

I quite literally have a headcanon where Henry and Gordon were leaving Barrow and nearly got killed
1:20 Gordon needs to open his eyes and ask Henry, "Is something the matter?"
*"Once an engine being chased by a plane, was afraid of a few bullets that rained. It went into a tunnel, and squeaked through its funnel and never came out again."*
Gordon: Really Now!!? First The Rain. Then and elephant, and now the war!!!?
Henry: Yes! That's correct!
nah 💀
Hardly anyone talks about TTTE and the world wars. Nice work!!
I actually have something similar to this in my AU, where Henry outran bombers and hid in his tunnel
In fact, the Stuka siren frightened the Allied soldiers, and of course the locomotives as well...
This as really well done!
(pls tell me hayley didn't die 1:08)
Hayley's the gray engine on the right side of the screen at 1:08, and to answer the question yes she made it :3

Oh Fuck! Henry Almost Died! 😮
These episodes would be "Henry's Nightmare" and "Here for Henry" all over again
Henry would sound very jumpy, and Gordon would think that Henry is whining over, over and over again
Once an engine attached to a train, heard the whir of a nazi plane.
Henry was scared of the rain first, the elephant second, worrying about breaking down and being scrapped and then the war.
I think this was the reason he didn’t come out even if the rain stop he thought there would be five bonbers
This video would give the young children nightmares
This video of Henry The Green Engine in world war 2 would scare the young children, and give them anxiety.
If Sir Topham Hatt was here he would ask Henry if he is feeling all right, look very hagard and what's troubling him
Y'all not talking how Thomas almost got hit at a point?
The young children would not know what world war 2 is, since they are little ones
This video is mostly disturbing for younger viewers
yay!! I’m so glad my gurl got out safe. Still a nice video ^w^
