I've backed a lot of Kickstarter projects over the years, nearly 1,000. A very few ended up being a scam from the day funding was successful. Some were hard fought failures. Very few shipped when they thought they would. Most were eventually successful. I've started to pay more attention to the red flags. The old saying holds true, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". We have back projects because we have hope, and that is the way cool new products see the light of day, but not always.

Kickstarter can get you some cool stuff you just need a dependable group behind the project.
Just checked the cole-bar hammer kickstarter while watching this, it was still being updated in April of 2021. It's the energizer bunny of tools.
March 2022 Update: Colebar hammer STILL isn’t in production!! So just a solid 8+ year wait lol
Linus: `Ctrl+Shift+Click` to open a new tab and auto-focus it.
The ouya was a Kickstarter and that was the best!
Only kickstarter I backed was Wreckfest (originally Next Car Game) just for the Technology Sneak Peek. 100% worth it.
I've never had a board game go wrong on kickstarter. Maybe a delay or two, but every one I've backed has delivered basically what was expected. The only kickstarter I never received was the Polygons measuring spoons which to this day there are still updates going out for explaining the latest reason for the many year delay.
I got a pair of those Wearbuds that were featured on a few channels. The headphones themselves were great, comparable to the studio quality ones, but the watch itself is a little finicky. The watch sometimes thinks they headphones aren't in. Still, I bought it for wrist-bound headphones and got more than I hoped for
In April 2022, the Cole-Bar still doesn't exist. Their last update was one year ago.
They actually released another update since you wrote this comment lmao.
As a sound engineer the Nura are a great pair of consumer headphones !! I own and love a pair I would suggest a video on them !
I been thinking about replacing my wh1000xm2 with nuraphones all reviews are positive for the nuraphones
bluepanther96 they are great I’ve got a referral code somewhere if your interested

@@Dundeeyouth They are a little weird at first due to the ear tips inside, but once you get used to them they are comfortable for a few hours of use at a time. I wouldn't buy them if you want to wear your headphones all day long though.
@@benamende5897 i wear them almost constantly... never found anything else that comfy..
The jokes on Luke as the Cole Bar is entering pre-production
12:36 inb4 Linus spends a year 1/2 on making a screwdriver and doesnt expect it to be done for many months ;)
Ugh, this brings back the hurt I felt from Ossic X.
Kickstarter the place where they charge 50 bucks for a lighter and people eat it uuuuup
If linus only knew how difficult the hammer really was. Now the screwdriver has been in production for SO long....
Road Redemption (spiritual successor to the old Road Rash games) was one of only two things i ever backed, the other being Starbound which had its own issues (dev basically slaving people to work for free), and while i wish it took off more than it did, it certainly plays and feels like the old Road Rash games, i was satisfied and glad i could help that game see the light of day
I backed the photonlabs lights on Kickstarter and I was one of the couple hundred who received the lights out of a couple thousand.
Linus asking "what is so difficult about a hammer?"
*proceeds to be as nitpicky as possible with a screwdriver*
that cole bar is pretty cool I would have backed it as well for certain
I backed an edible spoon company once. They took my money and ran. Last year they were on sharktank and got their money too haha.
Linus what windows theme are you running. I love that.
In case anyone was interested, I pulled this from the Kickstarter page.
*"1,857 backers pledged $135,250 to help bring this project to life.
Last updated April 23, 2021"*
And, if you follow the link to their personal website to order one, you're presented with a banner announcing it's forthcoming release in 2021...
Bring kickfarter back!
thanks for reminding me I still have Cole-Bar pending ...
Listening to this on my nura headphones
Star Citizen any day now!
Didn't they play it in the video? I'm confused.
You can play it right now lol
Linus: "I actually think everything I ever backed did ultimately get delivered."
... Star Citizen? It's been nine years. It's almost two thirds of the way to matching Duke Nukem Forever's stay in development hell
This makes me think of when I backed the Grifta controller and Starforge and now I'm sad.
Review Nura! They are actually quite amazing. Do it on Short circuit even.
Linus without a beard seems SO weird nowadays.
I know someone who has exploding kittens,I didn't realize it was a Kickstarter game.
I backed the original flexible lego tape strips. I did get them and they are awesome! However I have yet to use any of it because I have commitment issues. Lol i dont want to waste them! (Its been like 6 years)
remember cubeworld? me too it was fun how the devs ditched the money and after 8 years he came back.
Regular hammer with RGB ligh
Linus:" i take your entire stock"
you could do revues of start-up's that made it, comparing them to the sales pitch and other products
LMAO I'm actually wearing my Vue glasses while watching this
the nura where actully really awesome
The Hammer: You shouldn't really use a 1/2" ratchet to crack off hard bolts let a one use it for prying...
Linus the Nuraphones are dope. I'm surprised that you haven't reviewed them yet!
The Cole-Bar Hammer is still the funniest thing. Last updated on kickstarter June 3rd, 2022 with the title, "We're back" though I can't read the post as it's for backers only. Their website is just a picture of their nonexistent product with the line "Coming 2021". This gem has recently celebrated ten years without delivering anything to anyone. Let's raise a toast to ten more
You really should review the Nuraphones, they are brilliant!! I've been mentioning them to you for months lol
Here in 2022 and the last update was a year ago. No shot that hammer is ever gonna see the light of day.
Funny how the algorithm works.
After the kickstarter monitor review, the algorithm is recommending this to us, nice..
Update on Cole-Bar: Still posting updates (latest is April of 2021, as of September 2021 when I'm writing this). Looks like they're going to need to raise more money to make it happen, as predicted.
Only thing I would back these days is tabletop stuff, miniatures, paints, paintbrushes, board games.
Dude, I have my Vue glasses right now
I've backed a lot of Kickstarter projects over the years, nearly 1,000.
How are you liking the galaxy fold?
look how far kano's gone with the stem player
