" *I may not be able to change the world with my photography, but maybe I can inspire someone who can* " beautiful words
Tupac said something similar
That quote got me SO hard. true impact.
@@romellosmith3488 i was about to say ..
really beautiful... so touching...
Man's is a 2Pac fan
That ended up being much more touching than I expected
I wasn't crying, you were crying

I always had such great respect for war journalists. They're not there to fight, they're there to provide us...civilians to understand the harsh nature of warfare.
😮
Ask why the media has glamorise war for so long ? , ask who profits from war , they say the first casualties of war is the truth ,
@@alisonhilll4317 they are literally recording what is happening, I mean if you have proof then if you could share that would be appreciated
@@alisonhilll4317 Not every journalist in the media is the same some have principles. The media consists of more than large corporations and peons.
not just u.s. civilians, but the world in general
He’s still a war photographer... think about that. What a badass.
"I wasn't brave enough" says the man that went to a country at war, armed with nothing but a camera. Damn..
I just bawled my eyes out watching this. This man is so inspiring. I am disabled. I can no longer walk from a spinal chord injury. I understand exactly what it feels like to lose your independence. The feeling of wishing you could have died instead of being trapped in a body you dont even recognize. The pain and humiliation of having to relearn to do even simple things like being able to wipe your own ass. What he went thru- what all people go thru that are subjected to war is deplorable and horrible. I'm grateful for all that he said on behalf of all disabled people.
🙏🙏🙏
🙏❤️
As a photographer who’s always dreamed of war photography, this has to be the most moving thing I’ve ever seen. I just balled my eyes out. Thank Giles, more than you know.
Right there with you. Photographer *(no weddings!)* turned photochemical engineer, turned archivist. I did ball my eyes out. Damn onion cutting Ninjas! This really does make me want to pick up my camera again, set down the photovoltaics and hand coloring paints, maybe rip out the Toyoview.
EDIT: My username used to be Ferrotype. =) business is ferrotype's ferrotypes
“ I wasn’t brave enough”
brave people never think they are.
😭
"I wasn't brave enough" - what an authentic hero says.
This makes you appreciate the life you have
Warmed my hear when he said, " I am happier now taking photos than I have ever been." Truly inspiring.

What a man! I'm a woman and look upon this chap as a absolute full strong blooded man with strength and fear he has faced! I lossed my husband through cancer this year and the fight he had I will always hold! My darling man, strong and fearless I hold my hands up to you with love as you are stronger than you think yr story sends a true message! Bless you x
I am sorry for your loss. I send prairs
He will be proud he was married to a strong woman.
🇬🇧❤️
So sorry I lost my dad
Damn onion cutting ninjas back at it again in my room.
🤣
Me too man, fuck I was fine before this.
I know right!! It's early morning for me and those ninjas snuck in!!!
@Ezequiel Braden I feel bad for your girlfriend.
Or whomever you targeted with your portal thing.
The whole time i sat here and admired that man and than with the final statement the ninjas came in. What a guy.
I did NOT expect this to be this powerful. And that's saying something, because I had a bit of expectation for this video. But when he quoted "My biggest fear is that she doesn't love me as much as I love her", it hit me like 80 tons of bricks. It actually brought tears to my eyes and I had to pause the video for a few minutes. Then the picture of them together was amazing. Then ending with "Do I think I can change the world with my photos? No, but maybe I can inspire someone who can", I don't know how much more profound you can get, really.
This man can phrase things to deliver his statement with just as much power as his photography. I also totally stopped noticing he was missing limbs about 2 minutes in. I'd love to hear more of this man. This was life changing. Truly, it really was.
This guy is one of the bravest photographers I've ever seen God bless his heart 😇🙏💙
And you are one of the kindest, smartest Jennifer Steward's I've ever not met.
God bless your heart ❤
@@oteimoto85 and you are the kindest oteimoto85 I have ever seen, you are being kind to others for no reason....stay the same, all the love to you
@@isNamanSharma and everyone here should get a room and organise an orgy after the pandemic is over for being very kind to each other for no reason, bless you all and stay safe
They are all brave. Including all of the women war photographers who are out there documenting what is happening as I type this. They also face the ever present threat of rape.

What I liked about this video and this man is, he focused more on the plight of others than on himself. Incredible person
A true hero isn't measured on the size of his strength but the size of his heart
strength doesn't have a size idiot
Wrong a hero is measured by his actions
To have been what he had been through, built himself up and gone back out there is truly incredible, that's not even thinking about the lives he's helped and the stories he's told. Man's a legend worthy of the highest respect, not just as a photographer but as a Human
This guys an actual hero❤️ (God bless everyone)

I think what this guy has seen shows there is no god.
Incredibly inspiring. Hopefully someone who can change the world does see this.
As a photojournalist, this hits hard, no words can describe the horrors we've seen and experienced... thank you for this...
Oh my oh my, that ending had me in damn tears. That was so much more beautiful and heart felt that I thought it would be. So touching.
He found beauty in darkness. He found love in the midst of war and hate. Huge respect and very touching. I'm grateful I watched this. Thank you, amazing fellow human being. Thank you.
He came to my school once and seeing him sharing his story is so heartwarming
"Never think about the things I can't do, but I will focus on what I can and excel at those things" - great words, hell of a video!
"What I find in the worst places in the world, is incredible humanity, and I find love."
This is an incredibly moving interview. So much respect and admiration to him and those he photographs.
i havent cried in years, but when u showed those pictures i damn near almost shed a tear... great job
This series is absolutely incredible. Every single one hits home. Thank you to the creators and, most importantly, the subjects.
My hero. Thank you for having Giles on. I highly recommend that everyone also check out his TED Talk, truly one of the most inspirational talks I've ever seen.
This is beautiful. Tying it altogether at the end with the Love theme was really moving. There’s always a light, even in the darkest place.
Shame that was only 8 mins!!! Drew me in big time that story.
You should check out the documentary War Photographer.
@@brinepacer cheers mate I’ll check that out 👍🏼
Yeah this was extremely moving aye
Absolutely beautiful, and inspiring. An 8 minute video brought me completely back down to earth.
What a bloke, shout out from 4th battalion the rifles, British army
A perfect show of humility, strength and love from both sides of your camera. Thank you.
An utterly life changing film. Thank you.
I cant' imagine the courage it took for this man to step up and talk about this, about the things he experienced. You sir have all my respect and the world's.
What a deeply touching story. It made me cry. People are so resilient. Its awe inspiring
as a photographer myself I find this account so powerful, great work
This man has an awesome perspective, a drastically different perspective. Thank you for doing what you do, out of love, and showing me a different way of looking at certain situations. Thank you so much. Much love, best of luck to you.
You brought tears in this man's eyes.
I am really glad that I got to see that story. I am glad that he is still doing what he loves. The photos at the end were great. What an uplifting and inspiring story.
THIS might very well be my most favorite of all the LADbible vids
I feel I need to say nothing after watching this, only to think, think about what this man has said, seen, the storeys of those people and how photography has taken him on such a journey. I’m humbled and choked with emotion.
I can relate to this video... I was a combat cameraman for 26-months in Vietnam and was exceptionally fortunate not to receive any wounds...
Strong story, there should be more done for people like this brave photographer!
What a wonderful person, such a big heart and passion.
Absolutely incredible man! I hope he never gives up and continues what he is doing, he is an inspiration!
My God. Your a legend man. Absolute gangster. Incredible story.
The photographer is a beautiful human being. May he inspire a generation of beautiful human beings who change the world.
Unreal man. How these brilliant people go through so much and just see the world better after. This was so moving to me.
Why has this just low-key inspired me to be a war photographer
Much respect to this man. What a terrific human being.
Don't understand why people give this stuff 👎 . These are real people and real stories by far best thing im seeing on the tippy tappy at the moment
probably one of the strongest human beings, thank you so much for this interview.
This one needed to sink in for a bit. It was an amazing and touching story
Jesus - in the last 30 minutes Ive gone from the women who escaped North Korea Twice, to the man who was wrongfully convicted of murder and now to this - and I am an emotional wreck. All individuals who have faced life biggest challenges and adversities, but through resilience and power they push through and came out on top. These are amazing and powerful individuals. What moves me to tears though is how even when life has thrown everything it could at them, they still find the beauty in humanity and the beauty in life itself, it would be so, so easy to give in and throw in the towel, and no one would blame them if they did, but they didn't, they got up and kept going . Now that - that is inspiring.
Great stories. Thanks for sharing. I was on Herrick 14 when a triple amputee was brought in to Bastion. It is great to see life can go on like you say.
That's why I started on photography, because there are moments in our lifes when you have to freeze the time and capture it, later, it may change somebody reality because art speaks for itself in its own language. So great
You sir are an absolute legend and a hero. I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan during war and to see snd experience the things you have and build the strength of character you have today is truly inspirational. 100% respect, thank you for your efforts and thank you for sharing your beautiful stories and images ❤
He’s amazing at everything he does. I’m so glad he’s still with us. He’s in Ukraine now helping to tell their stories of survival. He helps take care of Syrian refugees in Lebanon too.
I love you brother. You have the biggest heart a human being is capable of having. It'd be an honour to meet you.
The way you've coped with your own trauma and still shown others so much love too , WOW! YOU are a PHENOMINAL man! All my love & respect buddy ❤👊
Incredible, need more people like this man ❤️
This is, by far, one of the most touching interviews I have ever seen. And I have seen a few good ones!
So inspiring!!!
Thank you!
One of the greatest lines ive heard about any kind of journalism (photojournalism to war correspondents) was in reaction to someone moaning about how James Foley should not have been "there" (in Syria) in the first place before he was caught and beheaded by ISIS, I can't remember who said it but it was a female journalist who replied "How do you even know where 'there' is? you know because he told you"
Just underlines how important their job is, despite how helpless they can sometimes feel.
this guy actually came into our school and spoke about it and acutally showed the footage from when hes getting the extract its mad
What a phenomenal series. Thank you. Such a gift.
No words for this. And those pictures are fantastic. On photographic scale this is the end goal to get this much love and emotions into the pictures. You nailed it absolute 10000%. Also you are an amazing person🙏 bless you man
I'm speechless. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for doing this interview. We need more of these to inspire more people.

'What i find in the worst places in the world is incredible humanity, and i find love.' Wow now i am crying. How beautiful
Not enough of his work displayed in this, but this guy is a true inspiration and his work is crazy good. what a guy.

What a wise, down to earth, sincere, strong man. Began choking up at the montage of his photography covering Humanity and Love
What a powerful interview! Good job unilad!
Big respect to this guy ❤
Have got tears in my eyes watching this.
These stories of people affected by war are so appaling, yet they are so touching and hopefull.
How in the world do you find all of these magnificent, wonderful humans you feature in this videos series? I am teary eyed almost every time I watch one. And this fellow....wow. Just wow.
"No, but maybe I can inspire the person that can"
I always come away from this series with at least one amazing quote from these incredible individuals.
Their resilience and wisdom are always awe inspiring
I'm not too sure why, at the end of a dozen or so binge-watched UNILAD videos, this one has brought tears to my eyes. the straw that broke the camel's back? i don't think that's it, but there you go. what a world
someone needs to give this man a hug.
bro is this guy a god? such a kind and humble human being, I hope one day to be like him
I wanna travel and understand different realities, know the world and people who've had it far worse than i did, hear their stories and share them with the world, like this man does
you and all the people you photograph have my respect sir Giles Duley
It's strange how black and white photos punch you in the stomach when look at them when compared to color ones.
The lack of color seems bleaker and if its a photo of persons, their expressions jump out at you more.
i love his positive attitude.
I really these interviews... Classy, cool speakers etc. nicely edited, good music... Just overall good stuff!
Much respect sir 🙏🏼 thank you for telling the world these stories
Thank you sir. Passion lived. A book will help share his experiences.
