Yep. Al sings that later scene lip syncing the phonemic words backwards, while walking backwards, so it looks like he is singing the correct words properly. AL IS A SCARY GENIUS!!!
Al spent weeks learning to lip sync those lines backwards, for that one shot. That is the sort of dedication you just don’t see in most parody singers.
That is partly why Al has survived in the game for nearly 50 years now.
That's why the others faded with time and Weird Al stood the test of time.

That little smirk Weird Al did at the end of the scene felt like he heard their conversation and just and was happy that they couldn't figure it out.

Yes, everything including him was reversed, an to lips synch correctly, he sang the song in reverse... That's crazy, but that's what really happened !!
This is my first time watching one of your videos, so I don't know how familiar either of you are with Weird Al. I can answer your question:
For the reverse scene, the reason that Al's lips were perfectly synced with the lyrics is because he actually learned how to sing that portion of the song backward. That scene is done 100% practically.
The man is INCREDIBLY dedicated to his craft, and not too many people realize that for all his goofiness, he is a certifiable genius. For his "Smells Like Nirvana" parody, he actually learned how to play the guitar left-handed so that he could accurately portray Kurt Cobain, and he still does this in every stage show.

Not many people offering suggestions. Of course almost every Weird Al song is a banger. Starting with the essentials there's Fat, Eat It, Smells Like Nirvana, the go-to Weird Al reaction video White and Nerdy, and of course Hardware Store for when you're ready to get your minds truly blown. A few other favorites are Foil, Like a Surgeon, Perform This Way, and Tacky. A couple personal favorites are That's Your Horoscope for Today and Nature Trail to Hell (no official video on that one). If you feel up to a long-subject song there's Trapped in the Drive-Thru or Albuquerque (I recommend WRappin's fan animation for that one).

The reverse shooting really fascinated me, too. If you like this, check out Coldplay's The Scientist - the whole video is shot in reverse and the front man (I think, Chris Martin is his name) sings normally, meaning, the video was filmed in real time and he reversed the mouth movements for the entire song. It is very weird and great and fascinating, which adds to a great song!
Also Drop by The Pharcyde is completely shot in reverse.
