Seelenbalsam mit Meeresduft entgleitet den Tasten von Niklas Paschburgs Piano, wenn er sich in flockenzarten Melodien verliert, die schnell zu Gefühlslawinen anwachsen. Einfach so, ohne Vorwarnung, entführt der Jungkomponist dann an blaugraue Strände bei ruhigem Seegang oder auf die Klippen norwegischer Fjorde. Es sind ausufernde Szenerien, die er auf seinem Debütalbum „Oceanic“ mit geradezu impressionistischer Wesentlichkeit zu zeichnen und auszumalen wusste. Ein Gegenentwurf zur digital übersteuerten Neuzeit, der alles Unwichtige weggleiten lässt und dabei Weite findet ohne Nähe einzubüßen, Ruhe sucht ohne Intensität zu verlieren, Sehnsucht weckt ohne den Verlust von Vorfreude hinzunehmen. In der filigranen Musik Paschburgs wird das Allmähliche immer wieder so präsent, dass jedes Rationalisieren von Klang und Komposition einer anflutenden Hoffnung weichen muss, die schließlich Geist und Körper durchströmt wie Regen.
Vom 22.-25. September fand das Reeperbahn Festival 2021 nicht nur vor Ort sondern erneut auch im umfassenden Livestream statt. Seit dem Debüt im Jahr 2006 hat sich das Reeperbahn Festival zu einem der wichtigsten Treffpunkte für die Musikwelt entwickelt und zeigt, wie sich ein überbordendes musikalisches Line-Up mit musikwirtschaftlichen Interessen und zivilgesellschaftlichem Engagement verbinden lässt.
Neben Konzerten umfasste das Programm auch Formate aus der Bildenden Kunst oder Virtual Reality sowie ein thematisch vielfältiges Film- und Literaturangebot. Im Rahmen von Sessions, Showcases, Networking Events und Award-Shows konnten Fachbesucher*innen des Reeperbahn Festivals Musik neu denken, erleben und hören.
Unsere Festivals finden im Zeichen des Miteinanders statt- Rassismus, Sexismus, Homophobie und Ausgrenzung finden bei uns keinen Platz.

It’s a balm for the soul, infused with an ocean breeze scent, that wafts from the keys of Niklas Paschburg’s piano when he loses himself in ever so light melodies that swell into emotional avalanches. The young composer whisks listeners away to blue-gray beaches with calm waters, or to the cliffs overlooking Norwegian fjords. The wide landscapes he paints on his debut album Oceanic are permeated by an almost impressionist essence - a defiance of the digital overload of modernity. Letting everything unimportant fall by the wayside, he finds vastness without missing intimacy, seeks calm without losing intensity, and awakens longing without accepting the loss of joy. In Paschburg’s delicate music, slowness has a tangible presence, drowning out the rationalization of sound and composition with a hope that washes over body and mind like pouring rain.
From September 22-25, Reeperbahn Festival 2021 did not only take place on site but also in a comprehensive livestream once again. Since its debut in 2006, Reeperbahn Festival has become one of the most important meeting points for the music world and shows how an exuberant musical line-up can be combined with music business interests and civil society engagement.
In addition to concerts, the programme also included formats from the visual arts or virtual reality as well as a thematically diverse film and literature offering. In the context of sessions, showcases, networking events and award shows, Reeperbahn Festival professionals were able to think, experience and listen to music in a new way.
Our festivals take place under the sign of togetherness - racism, sexism, homophobia and exclusion have no place here.

I can't believe, there is no comment here yet. I don't comment often, because usually other people write already the same things, but here I need to fill in this space under this video in my mother tongue: "Uwielbiam tą muzykę, po prostu serce mi rośnie i wiara w przyszłość i świat dookoła mnie". Niklas plays just so amazing, this music grows in every direction, in every dimension. Any obstacle that I feel in my life, this music surrounds with peace, calmness, hope, belief in future. The text under this video expresses also everything in very deep and meaningful words. I want to memorize this expressions used in text, to speak better about music of Niklas. Because usually I am missing words, to talk about his music. I am also so happy, that Niklas will come to Poland soon. Thank you for publishing this documentation of the concert, I watched all of this on Sunday afternoon, I send it forward to my best friends. Thank you, thank you. Kasia.
