Great advice! I'm shocked this would be the first comment and this only has 1,196 views as I write this considering the video was posted a year and a half ago. Personally I've been struggling for a while to change careers. I live in a dead market so I feel it's hard to break out when there are no jobs in my area but these are great tips aside from the meetup part as it doesn't apply to me where I live. I'm sure once I land my first job I'll have to relocate for it. Anyways great work, loved the video.

Hey thoughtbot! But how do you know when you are ready to start applying to a rails job? What makes the difference between beginner and intermediate?

Beginner is 2 years or less. 3 years to 5 years is intermediate.

Hi Ben, great video you got going, solid tips! I am going to take your advice and share my situation. I am about to graduate and need to get an internship. I do not have working experience. I do consider myself passionate and always eager to learn. I live in central america and would really like to find a remote internship with a great community in it! Hope you get in touch... thanks again!
