What’s surprising is the amount of room inside the boat it’s deceptive from the outside.. oh and I love the sound of the Mosquito ‘mash’ in the cockpit….😅
Over 14 foot beam explains the spaciousness a lot? …my old woodie has a typical 11 foot beam on similar length, even tapering down to 7ft at the stern…and is unbelievably pokey by comparison!😊
In 2005 I bought a Meridian 408MY. I owned boats before and after (we kept the 408 for 8 years) and it is still my favorite boat. Way ahead of their time for space and styling (personal preference - I get it), but the amount of space for a 40 footer was incomparable. I kept mine in freshwater so not sure how well they hold up in saltwater, but for affordable live aboard space you can’t beat it. Thanks for bringing me down memory lane - yours as well. Best, Jim

For a 2007 model it looks brand new. Whoever purchases this yacht will definitely be impressed and be getting a great deal! How could you go wrong?
Boats like RVs need extra additions to gray water and black water tanks. Lots of RV info on yt what to add to a holding tanks to eliminate the "poo pyramid" and smells. In general its a mixture of dawn dish soap and borax in the tanks to keep everything in liquid state and easy to pump out or drain.
Seeing that the owner locked the shower up on the back. Not owning a boat. Is theft and abuse of boats a big thing? Could you do a video on security of boats, both small and large? I heard that boats over 100ft have to be permanently manned. Is that correct?
I've never heard of the permanent manning for vessels over 100 feet. I've also never had any issues with scoundrels. Just take normal precautions like you would do anywhere, but, yes, it can be an issue depending on the dock situation, port, etc.
A boat security video would still be great. What typical precautions do you take? What options are there for remote monitoring? That sort of thing would be informative.

I mean, it's no Ocean King Doge 400 (inside joke for those that follow other yachting channels) but this is a very nice yacht. I need a place to live, but I can't afford this. I can barely a afford a mobile home, so that is a dream not worth chasing right now. This would make a perfect starter yacht for a couple or a single parent. All that you need to think about is how often you would visit the Bahamas because if I had this, I'd be living there 9 months of the year.
For sleep, have you ever tried thought stopping? It is a practice of consistently working on stopping or changing your thoughts until you get good at it. It takes effort, but it pays off. I've struggled with the same thing.
At 1st glance you wonder why so many levels and steps. Then you realize it gives you separate cozy areas to get away from other guests. I actually like the terraced design.

Rico looked like he had a flashback to your old live aboard when he opened the engine access, doing the live aboard maybe show the upkeep like dumping the gray water, etc. the hidden shore water and power under is fantastic more builders should do that !!!
Im a full displacement expedition yacht fan but absolutely love this as an affordable live aboard, the salon is beautiful great galley awesome bedrooms fantastic fly bridge and excellent storage, definitely worth every cent

@@Navy1977 It's a 2006. We don't plan on living aboard right away, but we intend to do the Great Loop on it in a few years. We are new boaters (with some recent training) and will spend the next couple of years, at least, learning how to operate and maintain the boat properly before embarking on the big trip.
You guys have been on a great adventure these past years. Thanks for taking us along. My GF and I have decided our next adventure... children. I am nervous.

Love the stylized compass rose in the salon table. I know this boat is great value for the money. If only there was space for staff to sleep in, it would be perfect.

Wow, the aft owner's suite, with direct access to the sea... the best😍🤩. makes you feel like you are in a superyacht. Having no internal helm in the saloon was a great idea, 'cause it's not like you gonna do some Atlantic crossing. Really a perfect boat for live aboard. 👍👍
Excellent Yacht I really like the lay out and how clean the whole boat is. This is a boat I could see myself living on, plus doing the great loop depending on the air draft.
The affordable live abloards are my favorite, not that im gonna buy one but, they ain't millions and millons, therefore on another planet. Mind you I do like watching some of the inovative ideas, which will trickle down to many things in the future. When Rico says "The healm is waterproof and has drainage", how the do you manage with all the electronics, are we just talking farin shower proof or full blown down pours?
Victoria, I discovered a natural sleep aid completely by accident. As a resident of the Mid-Atlantic I became a big fan of Dogfish Head ales. Especially the 60 Minute IPA. On occasion I would pick up a 4 pack of the 90 Minute IPA. It's a rich, heavily hopped IPA. Much more than the 60 Minute. The trouble was nearly every time I popped one I'd wake up hours later to a warm, half empty bottle. I assumed that it was the stronger alcohol level that was putting me out. What didn't make sense was that even though it was strong for a beer it didn't have as much alcohol as a couple glasses of wine or a few shots of whiskey, which never put me out. On a visit to the brewery I was explaining this to one of the staff. Their response was a complete surprise. Apparently hops can be sleep inducing for many people. So, it isn't the alcohol that was putting me out but the fact that the 90 Minute is a very hoppy brew. If you're somewhere without your Beam Dream you may want to try a hoppy IPA.
@@NautiStyles Ales and lagers can also cause drowsiness due to their high hops content(some craft gin and whiskey distillers also use hops but they are rare). On a side note, please be careful when traveling with Beam dream as it contains CBD in the form of Nano Hemp and some countries really don't like Hemp products in any of its CBD form factors.

This is practically perfect for me, and I want it. The only lack I'd feel would be the oven, but as you point out that's easily remedied. I actually think I'd want to replace the microwave with a combination convection/microwave. Breville is one brand, but there are others too.
I've a fan of your vids for about a year or two, and I have to say that even as a huge fan of cats I love this boat. It's roomy, bright and look very comfy, I'd buy this boat without hesitation. 💕 P.S. Victoria I work the overnights and have trouble sleeping too, so thank you for sharing your beam find. My numbers run mid 60s to low 70s, hope it works for me too.
This is a stunning boat, I have been thinking a lot about boats and I have come to the conclusion that for two people you don't really want anything over 47ft 50ft max. This is such a stunning boat, two cabins loads of space and yet manageable, for two people.
Great points!! Everyone I know has downsized their yacht. They want to be able to get in and out of places easier, ie shallower draft and they're at the point of not wanting to deal with crew anymore. I think the mantra should be to buy the smallest yacht you'll be comfortable with.

Seems like buyers need to have a mission for the boat they are looking for first, then they need to have a place to park it. I am interested in a live aboard that is capable of doing the great loop one day in the future. So length and height is a factor and twin diesels that sip fuel. Does not have to be fast not trying to go anywhere fast. As far as marinas or docks, a lots of FL docks are wiped off by Helene and Milton soon after. Perhaps you can add content on ongoing rent, maintenance and other boat expenses, goes way beyond the purchase price. Can you start bird dogging the available docks and prices in 2024 as other posters say it has doubled or tripled in their markets in FL. Your subs should have a place to park a boat before buying it not other way around. Are dock rentals better in other States than FL?
gotta love the enginges...cummins 5.9s are great fuel sippers, great living space and well kept, i just hate the front heavy yacht look of those and some carvers...they have this illusion of being overloaded with weight in the bow! not great for seakeeping abilities, btw for those who wondering about engine hours and wear and tear, this has 1400 hours on the 5.9s...there is a selene fs right now that has twin 5.9s....its listed as having over 7000 hours on them...so well kept 1400hrs is just broken in!
My guess is this boat wont be for sale very long. It looks so well maintained and with the tastefull updates it delivers great value. No wonder this model were your first choice
Really beautiful Yacht. Victoria I'm surprised you forgot to show stuff and Rico had to remind you hmmm lol. I think a fantastic boat for the Caribbean , Med, Adriatic, ect. I wouldn't operate across the Ocean's, but instead have the yacht ferried across. I would however in that huge storage area under the stairs put washer drier combo, but also a small freezer unit. The care of the interior was awesome. I don't think I'd have gone with the white color fabric on the upholstery or carpet as would definitely get stained and dirty fast. So I'd give it a 8.5/10 score.

Depends on the marina you use. If you’re on private land it’s never been a worry or a problem.

On a side note, please be careful when traveling with Beam dream as it contains CBD in the form of Nano Hemp and some countries really don't like Hemp products in any of its CBD form factors.

This is practically perfect for me, and I want it. The only lack I'd feel would be the oven, but as you point out that's easily remedied. I actually think I'd want to replace the microwave with a combination convection/microwave. Breville is one brand, but there are others too.

I've a fan of your vids for about a year or two, and I have to say that even as a huge fan of cats I love this boat. It's roomy, bright and look very comfy, I'd buy this boat without hesitation. 💕 P.S. Victoria I work the overnights and have trouble sleeping too, so thank you for sharing your beam find. My numbers run mid 60s to low 70s, hope it works for me too.

This is a stunning boat, I have been thinking a lot about boats and I have come to the conclusion that for two people you don't really want anything over 47ft 50ft max. This is such a stunning boat, two cabins loads of space and yet manageable, for two people.

Great points!! Everyone I know has downsized their yacht. They want to be able to get in and out of places easier, ie shallower draft and they're at the point of not wanting to deal with crew anymore. I think the mantra should be to buy the smallest yacht you'll be comfortable with.

Seems like buyers need to have a mission for the boat they are looking for first, then they need to have a place to park it. I am interested in a live aboard that is capable of doing the great loop one day in the future. So length and height is a factor and twin diesels that sip fuel. Does not have to be fast not trying to go anywhere fast.
As far as marinas or docks, a lots of FL docks are wiped off by Helene and Milton soon after. Perhaps you can add content on ongoing rent, maintenance and other boat expenses, goes way beyond the purchase price. Can you start bird dogging the available docks and prices in 2024 as other posters say it has doubled or tripled in their markets in FL. Your subs should have a place to park a boat before buying it not other way around. Are dock rentals better in other States than FL?

gotta love the enginges...cummins 5.9s are great fuel sippers, great living space and well kept, i just hate the front heavy yacht look of those and some carvers...they have this illusion of being overloaded with weight in the bow! not great for seakeeping abilities, btw for those who wondering about engine hours and wear and tear, this has 1400 hours on the 5.9s...there is a selene fs right now that has twin 5.9s....its listed as having over 7000 hours on them...so well kept 1400hrs is just broken in!

Really beautiful Yacht. Victoria I'm surprised you forgot to show stuff and Rico had to remind you hmmm lol. I think a fantastic boat for the Caribbean , Med, Adriatic, ect. I wouldn't operate across the Ocean's, but instead have the yacht ferried across. I would however in that huge storage area under the stairs put washer drier combo, but also a small freezer unit. The care of the interior was awesome. I don't think I'd have gone with the white color fabric on the upholstery or carpet as would definitely get stained and dirty fast. So I'd give it a 8.5/10 score.
