I've been to South Africa three times and I encourage other black Americans to travel. South Africa is a beautiful country. What I never done there is drive. LOL.... it seem like a big challenge to drive on the opposite of the road. I took an Uber or hotel shuttle. Next time I will rent a car and try driving on that side.
Doing it the other way around, for us in SA, driving in Europe and America is a bit challenging for the first two days, you have to conciously think about your driving and different traffic patterns etc.. After that you find it becomes normal very quickly.
It's not a big deal, after 2 days you should be alright. Im an African American who works in BMW in Rosslyn Pretoria so I been in SA for the past 3 years but going home every 3 months, I love SA in general
I am South African and know most of the places you have shown and I must say your videos have had me step outside of myself and realize that our country is really great. Our country is a home. Thank you for this
I used to long to move to The US, but not anymore because of how beautiful and homely our country is through Americans eyes. I'm starting to appreciate our organised mess.🎉
I’m looking at this mall, it suddenly hit me, that I have never in all my life been to a mall where there is predominantly black people in it😳 it looks absolutely beautiful! I would want to one day be there live and direct. It may be inspiring for me.
We were in SA this past Christmas and New Year. In the last 20 years we have visited SA about 12 times. Visited the mall of Africa for the first time as well. I'm very familiar with Sandton, never leave Joburg without visiting that area. We have visited almost every game reserve along the East coast from Northern KwaZulu-Natal to Pietermaritzburg. Did the Mpumalanga day trip and visited Dullstroom, Pilgrims Rest, Bourke's Luck Pothole, Graskop and stayed over at Kruger for two days before heading back to Joburg and then driving back to Maritzburg.
South Africa is the country related to the combination of the gods, the most beautiful nature, land, humanism, women, men and children. This land is unique in the world and stands for the rainbow nation where all colours can shine.
I was born and raised here in South Africa and also have a UA-cam channel. I love that you're doing videos on our wonderful country. I live in Centurion and love it here. Mall of Africa is one of my favorites. You should do a video on Menlyn on Maine. It has the most beautiful statues in the piazza and Old Town Italy restaurant is the best you'll ever go to 😉
We Americans don't understand Celsius at all. If he had said it's 21 degrees we would have been like "That's freezing!" Lol To us anything lower than 38 is like literally freezing. 40-55 is cold 55 -74 is cool. 75-85 is Warm and above 85 hot. Depending on who you talking to. lol
Looks normal and a sense of relief, I am tired of Bablyon America. Beautiful to see black people living their lives and being in peace. This is what it is all about, why are we Americans making ourselves miserable trying to save a country that is sinned to being with and can't learn their lessons. Let's try to enjoy our best lives by investing and living in a peaceful country.
@Red Carded I agree but at the same time, it is said under prophecies that Babylonian empires are doomed to fail. Black Americans spent years trying to warn America about their sins and they don't listen. At this point Black Americans need to just focus on themselves, leave and enhance their quality of life.
I am a white person living in this awesome country my whole life. Half of the white people left after 1994 after apartheid. I have been in many countries but there is no place like home. We have a lot of challenges, but you can be anywhere and start a conversation with any person black or white. It is normal to greet people as you pass them even they are we are all strangers. This is part of black culture. The open verbal and physical racesism and profiling of black people in America is appalling to all of us to witness. Al the ‘Karens’😄 In South Africa you will not get away with that. We call it hate speach and two white ladies landed in jail by just calling nack peole names. People get away with criminal behaviour in the form of overt racesism in America because they know they cam get away with it. My heart breaks for African Americans and other minority groups. We also have a lot of racesism here, but because we have a law called hate speach. You see very little open display of that. We need our brothers and sisters from America to come back to your home soil and help building this beautiful continent. You will never have to teach your children to fear the cops or being attact by whites. Thank you for a good side of my country❤️

I recently read an article on Lebanese leaving Lebanon due to the economic crisis and corruption. They are heading to west Africa especially Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana etc in search of a better life and economic opportunities. They are even sending remittances back home to Lebanon in order to help their families who are in poverty. It’s time for us as a people to wake up and claim our heritage.✊🏿
@Glenda Stevens It's a large retail chain known for their quality products -- especially the food, catering for the organic produce market as well. They're also a department store, not just a grocery store -- they stock clothing, homeware and personal care products such as make up, fragrances and skincare.
I just discovered your channel, it is awesome. I'm a marketing consultant in Jozi and few months ago I was tasked with promoting a book adopted by government here in SA to build a new city called Luther City which is based on African American history. It has a planned shopping square called Malcom square and a park called Rosa park. The idea is to encourage African Americans to relocate here while making sure they dont miss the culture and history they built in the US. The President mentioned the book and its contents in the recent State of the nation address. It was one of my favorite projects. I love to see this, South Africa, and Africa really has potential if we work it while enjoying it.
@@TRSA I will most definitely take a look at the website. The name of the book is "New Cities, New Economies" by Dr Tshilidzi Ratshitanga. I believe he studied in the US, and that's were he got introduced more to African Americans and the culture.
I'm from South Africa, and was suprised to see how black Atlanta was when I got there in 2012. And these were black people who actually looked like me, chocolate skin, not mixed race . I felt like I was home.

This is beautiful. You fit right in King & Queen. Incredible interview on Newz Room Afrika. We're usually a talk-shop on such and to see you guys actually do your bit to combat the decades worth of negative propaganda, just to continue to disconnect you to the land of your ancestors, is inspiring. We tear up for this side too for Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, George Floyd and millions of Black Americans (people that look like me too by the way) murdered by the police every year. Life is complicated for the Black soul everywhere. Colonization and Apartheid is still crippling millions of Africans and South Africans - heavily. So to see Black beauty anywhere about anything and anywhere Black is always welcome.
Mall Africa is beautiful the second biggest Mall in Africa . Fourways Mall took the title of the biggest Mall now in Africa. Waterfall area is booming , beautiful homes that side . I love Mall Africa it's cool .
Alcohol is open 😆Alcohol is open 😆. South African car washes have a black barbershop experience. You can find people chilling there. Black people in SA don't go to therapy or psychologists we go to the car wash or barber to get our problems out of our chest
I've seen African-Americans chilling in barbershops as well in Hollywood movies. They even made a movie about it, with two parts to be exact lol. Their ladies' saloons are as noisy as ours. Perhaps black people are generally loud lol.
And not to mention the beuty of wild life. Beutiful Resort Beutiful Game farms Beutiful parks Beutiful mountains ⛰ Beutiful Rivers Beutiful Rural Life "Venda" And Beutiful people living on it.
Arguably the best retail chain in the whole of Africa. There's nothing quite like Woolies aka Woolworths. 100% quality products, especially the food, and excellent service hands down. Many expats loved Woolies when they stayed here, they say nothing compares. Great video, wonderfully shot. Continue adding vlogs to your future line up.
My beautiful memories of South stayed at One World in Kempton near Tambo International airport. I visited Johannesburg, Pretoria, Capetown, Durban. I was blown away when I saw Shoprite grocery store. I’m originally from Trinidad and Tobago but live in The USA, but if the chance permits again I want to go back to South Africa I miss it so much. Business venture.
I also love the mall. If you go to the mall at night because its not busy, the escalators stop moving and will move once the sensors detect a movement.
It's sounds like the blending in has been your biggest "relief" or accomplishment, for lack of a better word/s, and I understand that completely. The rapper Joe Cole visited SA a few years ago, and his biggest impression was seeing massive billboards displayimng people who looked exactly like him or his friends, and advertising some of the worlds' biggest brands. That got me really thinking lol. Africa is your homeland indeed.

They are even sending remittances back home to Lebanon in order to help their families who are in poverty. It’s time for us as a people to wake up and claim our heritage.✊🏿
How is that related to the video and South Africa?
Wow u deserve my SUB thanks for showing our Country on the positive side we love you and your family you are welcome to your Motherland Africa.
Your south african content is appealing. Well done.
Thank you for highlighting the really best of our cool laid back country. We live in what is without doubt, the gem of Africa.
It's beautiful there!
I live in Jozi but I have never been to the Mall of Africa, How embarrassing, LOL, Thank you for the tour. Great video though. I Double Like!!!
Bro trust me ther are people who live in Jozi that have never been to Sandoton...Jozi is too big and has everything
Now that I no longer reside in SA, I miss Woolworths so much. There is nothing like it in other countries.
Come back home mos
@@shadrackmaswanganyi236 Soon, after Cyril opens the borders completely.
@Glenda Stevens It's a large retail chain known for their quality products -- especially the food, catering for the organic produce market as well. They're also a department store, not just a grocery store -- they stock clothing, homeware and personal care products such as make up, fragrances and skincare.
Bowyaphi😅🤷🏽♂️😂
I just discovered your channel, it is awesome. I'm a marketing consultant in Jozi and few months ago I was tasked with promoting a book adopted by government here in SA to build a new city called Luther City which is based on African American history. It has a planned shopping square called Malcom square and a park called Rosa park. The idea is to encourage African Americans to relocate here while making sure they dont miss the culture and history they built in the US. The President mentioned the book and its contents in the recent State of the nation address. It was one of my favorite projects. I love to see this, South Africa, and Africa really has potential if we work it while enjoying it.
We would like to see the government here get involved as well....African Americans do want to visit....let’s make it work...have you seen our website?
By the way what is the name of the book? We would love to assist SA Government in this project
@@TRSA I will most definitely take a look at the website. The name of the book is "New Cities, New Economies" by Dr Tshilidzi Ratshitanga. I believe he studied in the US, and that's were he got introduced more to African Americans and the culture.

This is just a taste of the Hometown Glory for me...🙌🏾
I absolutely love this video lol watch it over and over again I like seeing everyday life it kinda reminds me of Atlanta just blacker lol
I'm from South Africa, and was suprised to see how black Atlanta was when I got there in 2012. And these were black people who actually looked like me, chocolate skin, not mixed race . I felt like I was home.
@@africanandproud6792 My ex girlfriends sister lives in Atlanta and she said Felicia Mabuza is the unofficial ambassador of South Africa. Later made a friend who also lived in Atlanta with her South African boyfriend. So I'm definitely starting in Atlanta when I go stateside.
To think that am a South African and am afraid of driving in Joburg. Ive never leaved in Joburg am from the countryside of South Africa.I love my country.Ts nice to see it from your view .
The best thing to buy at Woolies: Kingklip. The best fish you’ll ever eat.
I agree with @Amera I'm South African and feel prouder and/or more grateful for living in Mzansi
i'm south African and i'm sad because the first time i'm seeing this mall is right know in this video💔
@sledgedube6062 Sorry love one day you will come ❤
Proudly South African🥰Love this video watching from UK
Alcohol is open 😆Alcohol is open 😆. South African car washes have a black barbershop experience. You can find people chilling there. Black people in SA don't go to therapy or psychologists we go to the car wash or barber to get our problems out of our chest
😂😂😂
True! 😂😂😂❤️
It’s coming not sure if US ready for that vid yet
I've seen African-Americans chilling in barbershops as well in Hollywood movies. They even made a movie about it, with two parts to be exact lol. Their ladies' saloons are as noisy as ours. Perhaps black people are generally loud lol.
@@m2ranojaholo79 yah 😂😂. True

@@TRSA I can't wait to be there at 100 000 mark. Let's do this.
Wow. Huge mall. I’m exercising just watching this video.
This video gave me an opportunity to 'visit' JHB, I am from SA currently living in Arizona. Miss Mzansi a lot❤️
Hi, I'm just curious, why were you blown away by Shoprite?
Me too cause shoprite is an average store to us😂
I also love the mall. If you go to the mall at night because its not busy, the escalators stop moving and will move once the sensors detect a movement.
I'm just going to keep liking your vids and sharing them.
Thank you for doing this. We aren't positive enough about our own country !
Wow, I am really enjoying these videos--they are addictive!!! 😃👍🏾
J.Cole and I are from the same place Fayetteville NC that’s crazy
If you're still here during Spring, check out the groenkloof hiking trail, or Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. The farmers market is dope as well
Please contact African Tigress for interview. Others should also know that we also have AAns relocating to SA 🇿🇦. ❤️
I want to relocate, but I don't know anyone there.
6:58 great opportunity, bring your favorite shop to SA
Looks like just another day at Lenox Square.
I LOVE THIS
