I just bought an SLV 10-11 wt fly reel and I compared it to top brands , before purchasing it , I'm so impressed with it that I'm buying a lighter wt reel in the near future , it seems those negative reviews don't know how to take care of their equipment !
Such a great brand, their products just seem to work and are often amazing value for the money! I have owned and used many different models over the decades without a problem, issue or complaint... I even still regularly use the earliest budget models that I got as a youngster ....as they seem to just handle the abuse and keep going, with only a little general cleaning, greasing and oiling.
these reels are reliable ive had a carbonite cbf 155a reel had it for 2 years dropped it many times and still works perfectly i reccomend okuma to many anglers
only had ceymar model from okuma but its a really great reel if you just want a reliable reel that just works without any troubles at all, own a couple of them in different sizes and 0 problems after hundreds of hours of fishing and they been through all kind of stress.. so if you just want a reliable reel without spending 100+ dollars for a more blingy reel i would recommend it

Okuma is a HOT Garbage. Buy shimano or daiwa. I once ordered a pair of okuma jigging rods and tips were bent and crooked right out of the box. Contacted their rep and told me they have no control of how the rods come out. Told me either return them or keep use them? Im like "the fxxx..?" Decided to give them a try and what an awesome answer i got as a new customer. Funny fact, i ordered over 5 thousand dollars worth of okuma reels including 4 makaira 80w, several cedros 14000 for tuna jigging so I can see how well theyre made. After hearing that BS answer from the rep, i cancelled all the orders and went with Penn, Avet, Shimano, and Daiwa, no issues whatsoever. There is a good reason reputable brands stay reputable. Cant even properly make jigging rods and how am i suppose to trust their thousands of dollars worth of gears? Hxxx NO.

Okuma are not talented enough to make left-handed reels they are immitations reel makers
