    I put one of these on my 8v a3 because my oem valve was leaking every now and then. After 2 weeks, I’m ready to put the defective oem one back in, it leaked less! The DV+ CONSTANTLY leaks. Has never sealed completely since day one. Sometimes it sticks all the way open, sometimes it feels like I’m tapping the brakes during a pull because it won’t stay sealed. Sometimes taking off from a stop it won’t seal at all just pshhhhhhhhh no boost until I let off then WOT. Lesson learned, get newest revision of OEM.

      Did u try sending it back to the company and getting a replacement? The GFB's are backed by a lifetime guarantee and as with anything, the odd defective one may slip through the net, even if it's brand new.
      Shame to hear you've had a bad experience with it, as the week I had mine, I couldn't fault it at all. But there really is nothing wrong with the OEM versions either, so hopefully ur car is boosting now as it used to 🤞🏻
      Cheers

    I personal have this valve on my 1.8t along with throttle pipe and turbo outlet and intake. I can tell a huge difference from factory DV and this new one. I feel like it opens up just enough to where factory DV opens all the way. I have had it on for about 3 days and doing fine.

    I have the T9351 and the leak was actually from the OEM piece, from the connector. I wonder if this all in one GFB DV has any leak issues from the connector

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Рік тому +1

      I'd like to think it wouldn't unless it was damaged/hit by another engine component. The build quality of this unit is 10/10, and should last a lifetime if looked after 👍🏻

    • @gfbvideos
      @gfbvideos 7 місяців тому +1

      Leaking from the connector is not uncommon on the OEM solenoid, but the T9351 does actually solve that issue. Let me explain - in factory configuration, the OEM solenoid is exposed directly to boost pressure via the transfer holes that balance pressure in the piston. The moulded plastic can develop a leak path that is often seen as oil dripping from the connector. The T9351 however isolates the solenoid coil body from boost pressure. This is because the pressure is contained behind the piston by the plunger. When the solenoid turns on, the plunger opens but importantly the path it opens flows more than the transfer hole in the piston. Therefore, the solenoid coil never sees boost pressure with a T9351 fitted.
      If you do see a leak from the connector during a pressure test with a T9351 fitted, chances are that's the result of the common pressure test applying pressure to the turbo intake. This method results in the diverter valve receiving pressure from both the inlet and outlet side. Pressurising the diverter outlet allows pressure to get to the solenoid coil via the relief passage running along the side of the T9351 cone. When driving the car on boost however, there is NEVER a situation where the diverter outlet passage achieves pressure, so even if the OEM solenoid is cracked and leaking, it won't actually leak boost when driving if a T9351 is fitted.
      In any case, the T9381 is immune from this issue for the same reason described above - there is no way the solenoid can ever receive pressure when driving.

    Hello, does it change the Turbo sound compares to the original DV or is it the same ?
    Any error codes ?

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey mate, so I've never had an error code or engine management since fitting it. Still performing perfectly 👌🏻 it doesn't change the turbo sound, you will hear more turbo noises by having a large intake fitted instead. The main reason to buy this is to hold higher boost levels compared to OEM ones. You might hear a few more noises on half throttle/letting off the throttle due to the design of this one adjusting it's position depending on what your foot is doing and the boost is doing.

    Seems like it gives the flutter sound. Does this fit on a 1.4 TSI Leon 1p? I hope so i can order

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Рік тому +1

      Hey DSV 👋🏻 Yeah the GFB DV's do seem to give a more audible turbo flutter, but this is probably more noticeable on mine with the large induction kit. So I recommend if you haven't got an induction kit, try that 1st.
      As for fitment I'm not 100% sure if it will fit your car. The older version which I'll link below, has a full listing of what car it fits. There are some 1.4 Tsi engines listed, but not under a seat Leon. But maybe you'll know if your engine can be found in other manufacturers, the same as my engine is.
      Hope that helps a little

      I think the diverter valve + fits in my car. You think its the money worth? Car isn't tuned anyway.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Рік тому

      I think it's only worth buying if you're planning on increasing power from the engine at some point or you are experiencing issues with your current diverter valve.
      Otherwise if your car is running perfectly just now, I would save your cash. Maybe put it towards a good induction kit.

    I was unfortunate enough to get a gen 3 b north American passat. This will fit, which is why I will be ordering one, but I am currently running the gfb dv+ bov spacer on the stock dv housing. let's just say it didn't fit without some modification lol current mods are cts cai, cts 3" catless dp, cts charge piping and turbo muffler delete, full 3" exhaust, and a stage 2 tune.

      It's exactly the same as the older version, just in a smaller form. It should hold more boost than the revision G OEM diverter valve, but the revision G is a very good diverter valve too for most applications.
      My full run through of this new GFB DV+ is in this video if you want to understand it all better 👍🏻
