The first Blade, at the time, provided legitimacy to the genre and set the stage not just for comic book movies but also helped paved the way for hyper-stylized movies like The Matrix the following year. Criminally underrated movie.

And thanks to Nolan, hyper-stylized movies are no longer a thing (in live-action), as fans started crying over realism, straying away from formalism. I love the Batman trilogy, but it shouldn't have been the template for CBMs.

Blade was successful in spite of the fact that it was a Marvel product. It didn't inspire people to buy Blade comic books or Tshirts. It was successful because it was fun and had characters we wanted to see again.
Iron Man and further MCU Films were successful for the same reason. If people like the characters and story, they will come back for more.
    SIMPLE.

Westley Snipes' Blade was THE turning point for superhero movies, Marvel, and the MCU. Draw a timeline of Marvel Comics, superhero movies pre-Blade, then all the way to "Endgame". Now, remove "Blade". NOTHING after that occurs. There is no Spiderman, no X-men, no "Ironman". Though "Spawn" was released a year earlier, it just didn't resonate with general and fan audiences the way "Blade" did.
And it simply wasn't that "Blade" was made. Snipes DELIVERED in aces! His portrayal was pitch perfect. Swagger, screen presence, and certified martial arts chops. He owned the camera with an awesome physique and costume designed second to none. The movie is STILL beloved by fans as it approaches its 30-year anniversary.
Disney, the MCU, and even DC owe a MASSIVE debt of gratitude to Snipes leading the way. Respect WELL-earned.

This movie wasn't anything to the MCU. It's a decent film and well directed, but it matters to nothing. It wasn't a critical or box office success. And everything that is blade was another film or TV properties first.
Blade causing 20th century Fox to buy X-Men is a LIE. X-Men were in production at the studio 4 years before Blade ever was in theaters. Lol

And Spiderman didn't get sold til 99, not because of Blade, but because 10 different entities were litigating one another over the rights to the character since 1992. Marvel was able to finally sell it after 7 years, as they didn't have the right again till 1999. Clearly Blade didn't matter, since Spiderman was optioned since 1984, 1992 where James Cameron was set to write and direct till that studio was sued by the 80s studio that was going to make it first.

@@ejeckk romanticized bs. Blade didn't do anything. I mean figuratively and literally. The movie was a box office financial loss. The critics hated it. The movie is super Derivative not original in pretty much anyway. And had that movie because a big flop, or never made, the Marvel universe would have still been the same. Ask yourself, if it was so influential and most important then what is it the last one that is getting a reboot. The last very last. And that hasn't come up still lol that's because blade was nothing

Quietly being called one of the greatest films ever. People become memorized upon watching Blade.
