@@jeremydale4548 My theory on Riker is that this version of Riker is from TNG's 7th season. If you look at his communicator badge it's the old style used on TNG and the first 2 seasons of DS9. The combadge was redesigned for Generations and was used for the entirety of Voyager as well as DS9 seasons 3-7. The reason why I suspect that Riker was pulled forward in time from season 7 of TNG is because he knows who Janeway is & he knows about Voyager. In my head cannon Riker was on the short list for becoming the captain of Voyager and he found out that Janeway was given command of Voyager.
@@supersaiyaman11589 I think that this version of Riker is from TNG season 7. He's using the old style of combadge, the combadge was redesigned for Generations and the new design was used for Voyager and DS9 seasons 3-7. I think that Riker knew about Janeway getting command of Voyager because he was probably on the short list for getting command of Voyager.
Voyager is set in the same timeline as TNG and DS9 hence why Riker is wearing the pre-TNG movies uniform and comm-badge until they manage to contact earth and send the EMH Mark 1 (The doctor) to earth where he meets Troi and Barclay whom are wearing the post-TNG/Generations movie uniform (so First Contact to Nemesis). Also, it's rumored that Voyager got home after the events of First Contact as a lot of people thought that the Galaxy Class starships were retired, which they were not as we all saw one Galaxy Class starship escort Voyager back to Earth from the Borg wormhole. It was just the USS enterprise D that was retired due to being destroyed and replaced with the newer powerful Enterprise E Soverign Class Starship.
@@GenGamesUniverse the galaxy class had a lifespan of 100 years, similar to the Excelsior class before them. Only ones recorded destroyed were the enterprise, yamato and odyssey. Look at the ds9 finally when there was a full galaxy wing and in nemesis, the battle group the enterprise e was supposed to.meet with contained the USS galaxy
It's no wonder that Riker initially looks at Q suspiciously when Janeway tells him they're stranded in the Delta Quadrant. "If it quacks like a duck...", or if it looks like a Q situation and Q is still hanging around there, the assumption really makes sense. 😁😁😂
They were in the Delta quadrant in "Q Who" TNG episode. When Q smacked them back to the Alpha, they were lojacked by the Borg and they followed them thereafter.
Q should have kept rikers memory. If nothing else, for Canon. It would be a good ending (or plot point down the line) that riker was able to at least tell starfleet of voyager. Just because he is in a different uniform doesn't mean riker is from another time
Something I don't understand about this scene... Q mentioning that their memories would be wiped to protect the time line and Riker wearing an older uniform both suggest that Riker is from the past when he would still be serving on board the Enterprise D. However the fact that Riker knows about Voyager and Janeway specifically says she wishes he could tell people where they were when he got home both suggest that this is a present day Riker from the Enterprise E. If Riker is from the same time period as Janeway then it wouldn't effect the time line for him to remember being there when he got home and he should be wearing the newer uniforms that we see the Enterprise crew wearing in the movies. If Riker is indeed from the past then he shouldn't know Katherine Janeway as the Captain of the Voyager since she wouldn't be a Captain in his time and the Voyager wouldn't even exist yet. There's actually an episode of the Next Generation where an extra was referred to as Ensign Janeway which I believe to be either a younger version of the same character or possibly a family member. Either way it's plausible that Riker is aware of Janeway even on board the Enterprise D but I don't believe she was a Captain until the beginning of Voyager which takes place around the same time as the Next Gen movies do. Voyager actually seemingly starting the same time as Generations as another version of the EMH also appears on board the Enterprise D and Voyager never switched over to the new uniforms that became standard on the Enterprise E and DS9 cause she was lost in the delta quadrant and didn't know about the new uniforms. It's possible Q put Riker in an older uniform that Janeway would recognize rather than introducing her crew to the new style uniforms... but then why not just put him in the same style uniform Janeway's crew is wearing rather than an even older style uniform? I mean the DS9 crew also wore the Voyager style uniforms for a time before switching over to the movie style uniforms. Of course trying to track the time line by the uniforms was pretty much impossible for the Next Generation because extras were constantly wandering around in uniforms from different seasons anyway, even in Generations. It's not till they started standardizing that turtle neck style that the uniforms were actually consistent with a specific time period. Original series not included... Next Generation (movies included), DS9, and Voyager all happen close enough to have some over lap of certain events happening at the same time between the different shows. The original series (movies included) however is far enough in the past that there's not really any over lap of events. Even in Generations which seems like an over lap of events only happens because of a nexus anomaly where time has no meaning. So there's not really any over lap between The original series where events are happening concurrently with events in another series.
@@drockjr That's my theory. This Riker is from season 7 of TNG. With this Riker being from season 7 that would: explain the old uniforms, the old combadge, his knowledge of Voyager & his knowledge of Captain Janeway. If Riker was on the shortlist for command of Voyager then he certainly would have learned that Janeway got assigned as Voyager's Captain.
Or, and this is a controversial take: they just didn’t think about nuance or time periods and just gave him “his” uniform to wear for a short scene. If it helps any, if I had to theorise beyond the costume designers not thinking, I would say this is Riker from the last season of TNG - Voyager was probably well under construction by that time if not nearly finished - Riker would likely know who got to captain it.
its looks like it, i often wondered if voyager was newer than the enterprise E, but going from riker, looks like voyager was older, and the Enterprise D may have still been in service.
But Q exists outside the spacetime continuum, and presumably knows how things are generally meant to play out... though he clearly doesn't foresee *everything*... oh dear I've gone crosseyed.
"Your memories will get wiped before we send you back" Riker: Oh..I see *proceed to discreetly scribble down something on a piece of paper and put it in his pocket* That would have been a different ending altogether.
I just noticed a little flaw in this scene. First of all, this episode takes place during season 2 of Voyager, so it's sometime during 2372. Now in the last few seconds of this video, I noticed that Riker was wearing the old com badge with the gold ellipse attached to the arrow, as seen during the TNG series, whereas the badges with the gold trapezoid (currently being worn by the Voyager crew) were not issued to the Enterprise officers until sometime after the TNG finale "All Good Things" and before the movie "Generations". Riker is also wearing the TNG uniform issued after season 3, which means that Q had to have plucked him out of his time from anywhere between 2366 and 2371 and Voyager was launched shortly after the destruction of the Enterprise D in 2371. So he had to have been plucked out of time at least a year before Voyager was even launched. So the question is even if he knew Janeway, how does he know about Voyager?
Assuming you are correct there is this. Voyager was being built at the time. Riker could have known about the ship. As seen in TNG, most officers of rank know the others or have heard of at least some of them. No doubt possible names for the captain of this new Intrepid ship would be floating around. Riker might have been among them and he might have read about Janeway.
@@welme23 True. But nevertheless, given the facts I stated about his uniform and com badge, he had to sense he had been plucked out of his own time; because again, Voyager was launched shortly after the events of "Generations" and Riker's com badge was the standard issue before the events of that movie.
He likely knew who she was being assigned to Voyager. Also look how confused he looked that Voyager was lost and was on it. Almost like he didn't have knowledge of it's disappearance or he could be on the ship.
What always bugged me about this was that Riker apparently is aware of who Janeway is and that she's the captain of Voyager, but his uniform indicates that he's from several years before Voyager was even launched. I suppose he could've been plucked from the very thin time in which both were being used -- Generations apparently takes place in 2371, which is the same year Voyager is lost -- but it makes more sense to pull a contemporary Riker, who would've been wearing the same uniforms as Voyager's crew, or even the newer black-and-gray uniforms of late-era DS9 or the last few TNG films.
If you look at the com badge on Riker you'll notice it was the style that was worn during the series of TNG & the first 2 seasons of DS9. The com badge was changed for Star Trek Generations & for the rest of DS9 & all of Voyager. My theory is that Riker was brought forward in time from around late season 7 of TNG. If Riker was on the short list for command of Voyager he would have been informed that Janeway was given command of Voyager instead of him, this is how he could have recognized her.
The moment you realize Janway could have saved her entire crew early by demanding Q send the ship home after having his baby. She would die for her crew but she wouldn't have a child for them?

Cool having Riker in this episode. Still, it makes no sense. Like it's stated later, Riker never met Quinn before this episode. It was Riker's ancestor, Thaddeus Riker, who met Quinn in 1864. Riker are just shown a picture of him by Q and tells the story he has heard. Why wouldn't Q bring Thaddeus Riker himself to Voyager? Probably because they just had to bring a familiar face...
Atle Kristiansen I mean, tbh they could’ve even had Jonathan Frakes play Thaddeus Riker if all they wanted was a small cameo, or instead have depressed Q be the one who originally gave Cmdr Riker the big push to join the academy and become a Starfleet Officer 🤷♂️
How does Riker know about Janeway and Voyager. My guess is she was assigned while the ship was still under construction. I'm more interested in what events the other Q did to Riker.
Why wouldn't the First Officer of the flagship of Starfleet not know about an Intrepid class starship suddenly going missing? That would be a fleet-wide announcement.
Jesus death wish was an episode and a half, and I mean I first saw this episode during one of the toughest times of my life and it made me think a lot, mainly about how one persons choice to end their life is deemed selfish by everyone else, but there we place what we want on that persons life

Going by Rikers com badge he was from before Voyager launched
Fun fact: Frakes guest-starred on DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.
And Picard and Lower Decks 😂 The man is everywhere!
@@MrEdfed we don't talk about the meat puppet with Stat Trek written on it
"Your memories will be wiped before you get b-"
To bad he didn't stick around for the whole episode. Would've been cool to see him interact with the crew
I'm never going to complain about more Riker, never
In the book “Mosaic”, it’s mentioned the Janeway and Riker dated very briefly.
Imagine being told to our memories will be wiped when your sent back 😂
Love this cute little cameo
Love Next Gen and Voyager. Saying that love all Trek. But Next Gen and Voyager are my two favourite shows.
Jonathan Frakes was on tng & managed to gest star on DS9 Voyager and Enterprise.
Why couldn't you upload the whole segment?
Because of copyright malarkey.
Nah riker just got shy
Because FUCK YOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!! D:
too broke to get Netflix. the entire series of ST Voyager is there. even the TNG.
I remember this...it was epic....even kore elic was on his appearance in Sar Trek Picard
Q should have kept rikers memory. If nothing else, for Canon. It would be a good ending (or plot point down the line) that riker was able to at least tell starfleet of voyager. Just because he is in a different uniform doesn't mean riker is from another time
So Q had all the infinity stones...
rappy90
I think so
Or Thanos had all the Qs.
In terms of ability q has all the infinity stones, the dragon balls, and just about any other power object you can think of.
in Q squeard the q had part of god powers,
Q is more like Mister Mxyztplk
In a world where everything is unusual, "This is most unusual" is Janeway's attempt sound judge-like.
Yeah, that line strikes me as odd. Unusual, even.
Pokerface Most unusually odd.
That’s probably Q messing with you.
Unless he reads the memos about what future ships will have what captains waiting for them
@@drockjr that makes more sense. I'm sure Riker would be aware of those things
When I saw Riker I immediately freaked out in excitement.
I remember this. Great episode.
So Captain Janeway was given command of Voyager prior to the events of Star Trek: Generations given Riker's pre movie eta combadge...
its looks like it, i often wondered if voyager was newer than the enterprise E, but going from riker, looks like voyager was older, and the Enterprise D may have still been in service.
Enterprise D isn't destroyed until a few months after Voyager is lost.
Ooh, I don’t remember this scene! Love the handshake
"I don't need your fantasy women!"
Riker swagger..it works every time.
"You can't report when you're back home." My thoughts: Noooo!
Look at Janeway’s face at 0:41. She must be gutted at being deprived of informing Earth of Voyager’s predicament.
From Star Trek Voyager to Everybody Loves Raymond I’ve always thought Susie Plakson has the beauty that transcends time.
He didnt change the timeline for riker. He knew who janeway was so they are same time period just wasnt aware they were still alive
Anton very true
But Q exists outside the spacetime continuum, and presumably knows how things are generally meant to play out... though he clearly doesn't foresee *everything*... oh dear I've gone crosseyed.
Exactly, Enterprise D crew must have gotten told that Voyager was either lost in space or had been destroyed trying to get the Marquis.
@@GenGamesUniverse What i don't get, is why didn't the Enterprise E get the gel pack system, like voyager had, with that ship been newer.
"Your memories will get wiped before we send you back"
Riker: Oh..I see *proceed to discreetly scribble down something on a piece of paper and put it in his pocket*
That would have been a different ending altogether.
That would have been a different ending
That would have been a different ending.
That would have been a different ending
Here, put this in your mouth.
Riker appears in a lot of Star Trek series. TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, Picard, Lower Decks, plus the TNG movies.
This is most unusual.
Lol
I am as curious as you are
Riker wants some of that old stuff ❤❤
Must have wiped my memory as well, I can’t remember the end of the clip.
The rest are confused and says your in a dream
Tuvok saying, "I'm just as curious as you are Captain" is the Vulcan equivalent of "Hell yes--let's make this happen!" LOL
Totally forgot this had happened.
Captain Janeway....if I would have known I would meet you, I would have used my coffee sented beard oil.
Cmdr Riker. I would follow him into any Armada.
Q probably wanted to Riker in that good old uniform again.
Riker..so my memories will be wiped....mm set love sausage to maximum..
I love that riker just kind of gets annoyed at Q And then just take the situation as it is no questioning or anything just goes with it
Cool. Riker got a nice little break during the Dominion War.
Wow!
This is so cool!
Damn, didn't get to see him sit down
Now I want to see the rest of the episode 😆
@@alexmcintyre8229 that could be the case. He could've been a runner up for the new Voyager captain
That, or Q just wanted to see Riker in the old TNG era season 3 uniform.
Hes like Quentin Tarantino. He directs and stars in it
Sad that they never had a crossover or something bigger than that
That would have been a great film, End Game and Nemesis crossing over, Voyager happens to gate crash, and saves the enterprise.
I like how the second timer sees Q he knows somethings wrong
When I saw the name of your account, I immediately said, "Wait... hold up!"
I loved how when she said they were lost in the delta quadrant riker looked right at q like what did you do thisbtime😂
The moment you realize Janway could have saved her entire crew early by demanding Q send the ship home after having his baby. She would die for her crew but she wouldn't have a child for them?
LOL
I agree but 7 years is not that long. She wasn’t completely incompetent.
@@brooklynsmith2721 Yes 7 years inside the probably most hostile environment startrek crews could think of. Countless anomalies that create copies of you that slowly die miserably later on, etc. Bloody hell.

Kurtzmanbot alert. How old were you when VOY premiered? If you were even born yet.

That's not how she looks at it. A potential Q-human hybrid baby would be to her the equivalent of an Omega Particle. In other words, she would be trading a free ride home for a universal threat to everyone.
"Your memories will get wiped..."
Oh, I feel much better now!
Just as well Riker just so happened to be wearing a neatly pressed uniform and was not doing something like watching TV in his underwear.
Have you ever been teleported from one galaxy quadrant to another quadrant on a ship with a crew that has been classed as missing?
not that I remember 🧐
Riker: gets memory wiped
Also Riker: The person who could’ve told starfleet of Voyagers survival.
It would have been a fun nod to let their memories be canon
Riker probably would have no clue about Voyager.
Sure. These ideas would make more sense than what is shown...
Probably because Will Riker was more historically significant (in the universe if this show I mean)
Riker wanted to get in that Janeway jumpsuit
How does Riker know about Janeway and Voyager. My guess is she was assigned while the ship was still under construction. I'm more interested in what events the other Q did to Riker.
VXGAMING, He saved the life of one of Riker’s ancestors in the American Civil War.
Why wouldn't the First Officer of the flagship of Starfleet not know about an Intrepid class starship suddenly going missing? That would be a fleet-wide announcement.
Nice editing
Jesus death wish was an episode and a half, and I mean I first saw this episode during one of the toughest times of my life and it made me think a lot, mainly about how one persons choice to end their life is deemed selfish by everyone else, but there we place what we want on that persons life
