Did one of these today. A little bit different on a 2014 E-350 passenger van, although maybe that had to do with the handle being plastic? I had to use stainless fasteners, but they were like yours--hex socket, pan-head, 1/4-20 thread; I buttered up the holes in the door and the shafts of the screws with Tef-Jel to hopefully prevent the steel from rusting due to contact with stainless in an exterior environment. If it were my van, I'd have chosen to rivet it, probably. But those screws with a lock nut should be pretty secure. (Just did as I was told--it's the shuttle where I work, so it's a company vehicle.) If they want to steal it, they're going to steal it...
Wow a relatively new video that's about to save me a bunch of money replacing all my pops workvan doors 😂... He's got over 200k on it and besides the rust, his door handles are the only broken thing on it. Poorly and cheaply designed unfortunately but I'll definitely get the metal handles. Only the 2 front doors open from the outside so it's getting to be a real pain in the ass 🤣
I’m out of the van, had to use my chair and climb over driver seat and out and into my other chair. I’m out of the van in the middle I august Florida day. I’m paralized from Swine flu ( H1N1) very rare. 8 years.
Not 100% I just brought the door handle with me to the hardware store and found some that fit. I did use a black coated bolt and they already rusted so I'll be pulling those out and replacing with something else.
I used stainless 1/4 X 20 X 1/2” Allen with the nylon anti-vibration nuts on the inside. I see you asked the question a year ago but this is for the next guy. I bought mine on eBay it was a Dorman part but the package was open and there was no rivets included.
hey i have the same problem with my van, where did you get the handle, i cant seem to find the exact model that my van has, can you send me a link or point me in the right direction?
My 07 had an arm and you had to release the yellow clip at the top and the only way to get out it was to remove the three torques 27 bolts holding the latch in and push it off to the side to undo the latch 3:46 . Pull the handle out from the outside with the arm still attached. I’m glad I didn’t have a cable like all my other doors that I’ve had to repair the cable ends on every one so far.

I am working on an '07 with power lock actuator in the way. I can't see how you put that cable on AFTER you installed the handle.
It goes in the same way it came off.
Nice Job.
Thank you!
sweet and short, thanks

Do you have a video that shows the removal and instal of a 2009 Ford E 250 Drivers side Door handle?
No only for this year
What year is that van? I've got a 2009 and there's much less access to where the back of the handle
99
I broke my passenger door handle about a week ago. What size bolts did you use?

Excellent video, to the point and showed me what I need to do to repair mine!! Thank you
@@tobyoakes4130 glad it helped you out 👊
So both my side and back panel doors aren't opening from the inside or out.
I gotta figure out how to do this with the doors closed. 🙃
Wish I had some advice for you. Hope you figure it out.
Hey I am replacing my friends van handle. I can’t seem to find a metal handle. Where did you get yours? Thank you!
Amazon
F.S. Detail Garage thank you!
Your welcome
Go to the salvage yard....you can most likely find everything you need😁👍🏿
@@TheBlkac1 problem is all these doors have the same issues it’s just better to get a new one.
What size bolts and nuts where you able to use ? ?
I just took the handle to the local hardware store and found some that fit.

Purchased from Amazon it’s the metal handle option.
Do you have the link to order one
No I don’t but it was from Amazon
Do u need a drill or are there another option?
Going to need to drill it. Unless you want to cut out the handle and weld a new one back in. 😂🤣JK. Good luck my friend!
Where did you get the bolts, what size? Did they come with nut bolts?
I took the Handel with me to the hardware store and found some that fit.
Part Number?
Thank you for the video.
Your welcome! I purchased from Amazon it’s the metal handle option.
94 has an arm not cable, and I'm not sure how to remove or replace it on another handle?
I’m not sure but I’m assuming the arm is removable from top or bottom of lever. Probably plastic clips or slip clips on the ends.
This video doesn't show that ......
My 93 has a cable lol

Do you know the part # for the handle.
It was from Amazon if you remind me in a few hours I can possibly find the part number for you.
Part # ? ?
Please and Thanks
I got it from Amazon unfortunately I do t have the part number.
next time try punching the center out of the rivet first before you drill out the rivet and it will go a lot smother
Good luck with that! 🤣
What’s the size of the bolts ?
I just took the handle to the hardware store and found some that fit, not positive on exact size.
